  1. Hi everyone, just took delivery of a 2021 Ford Ranger Lariat. Love it!

I do like to occasionally clean my engine. The last vehicle I owned (a 2012 Xterra) handled a "light" spray of "do it yourself car wash" soap and rinse. I've noticed the Ranger has a LOT more exposed electrical components and connections than the Xterra. I'm sure they are all sealed because the engine will get wet / damp from normal driving conditions. Any opinions on washing modern engines?

    Thanks in advance.

  2. Hi everyone.

I'm building a "tornado intercept" concept vehicle in the spring of 2021 using a Ford Ranger Lariat. To speed things up I'm trying to get all the technical stuff sorted out before we receive the truck so we can go full force once it's here.

I will need to route multiple wiring sets through the firewall into the interior. Does anyone know if there is a port or removable plate to do this or will I need to drill one?

    Thanks in advance.

  3. I do have a back-up plan in the event the Storm Chasing Bronco Sport does not work for some reason or it we are unable to obtain one in time for the storm chase season next year:

The Ford Explorer FX4 might also make a great storm chase / volunteer EMS vehicle. If they add the ST twin turbo and brakes, I'll buy it tomorrow!

Between the Raptor, ST's and Broncos, Ford is kicking butt right now in the automotive world!

  4. This is the concept for the Cyber-Orange Badlands, but the overwhelming response was that it looks likes a "school bus administration vehicle"...lol I wish the Cyber-Orange color had been more "hot wheels" golden instead of yellow.

I ended up going back to the black.

  5. Hi Everyone, I'm seeking feedback on a concept vehicle we are considering based on the new Ford Bronco Sport.

The vehicle would be used for storm interception, including storm spotting for the National Weather Service, storm photography and volunteer EMS work when needed. (I'm a tactical EMT). The use would cover the tornado season, hurricane season and the southwestern monsoon. Basically a true torture test in all kinds of conditions over many miles.

There are obviously a wide range of vehicles we could use, but a number of people have suggested the Bronco Sport Badlands. I have one reserved.

Any opinions or suggestions? We are also considering a Ford Explorer, but cost is a factor since most of the work we do is volunteer.

    Thank you.
