  1. To anyone that's interested in reading. My experience with ordering has been one of a learning process. I'm sure everyone else is learning including the Dealers and Ford.

My original order was place with Dealer A on March 22nd for a F250 Platinum with pretty much every feature including Spay in bed liner and AS. I made it perfectly clear I wanted my email address place on the order so I would get confirmation but never received anything. I called back to make sure it was added and was told they don't give Ford the emails because of spam, however I insisted that the manager add it and he said he did but never received any emails. I preceded to confirm my order with the Ford Marketing number and the order was in fact placed on the March 22nd. At the point of ordering it was a Priority order #19, Type Retail with my number under the customer field according to the order I signed. BTW, also gave them a $1000 deposit. After numerous calls to the Ford Marketing Department I decided to call the dealer A to see if my priority number changed and it was changed to #10 around the August (not sure of the exact date) Was told it was unscheduled and clean.

Around the end of September I received a call asking me to drop AS but decided against doing so because I was in a position where I could wait for the truck, this was also the time Dealer A  told me that Ford dropped my Priority number to #02.

I have been following this forum since March 16th so I know there have been a lot of trucks similar or just like mine that was ordered, built and delivered all after mine was originally ordered. Frustration started setting in!!! Started asking myself if this was a Allocation issue, Dealer issue or possibly a Ford issue. So at this point started calling around and talked to a veteran sales guy referred to me by a friend. He stated he could have my truck to me in 6-8 weeks. I wanted to see if this was true so I decided to place the exact same truck with all the same options with Dealer B on September 20th Explained to them I wanted email confirmation and received the Ford email the very next day. (still haven't received any emails from Dealer A)  No Deposit was even ask for. Also, to note I sent a copy of my Drivers License to Dealer A  on June 9th.   On November 16th I received a text from Dealer A stating the spray in bed liner is a commodity issue and we can get the truck schedule if its removed so I did.  Ironically enough I received an email from Ford regarding my truck I ordered from Dealer B stating that my truck was scheduled for production the week of January 24th "As Order" did not have to delete anything. Still nothing from Dealer A other than deleting an option. December 3rd I decided to call Dealer A and add my spay in bed liner back to my order since I knew that the other order had it and was already scheduled but was told  they couldn't add it back in because it had been schedule (never received an email stating this) for the week of January  31st. A week later than the other ordered from Dealer B on Sept. 9th. On December 14th I received a text from Dealer A stating my Truck build was pushed back to the following week of February 7th. As for as i know the Dealer B order is still being built the week of January 24th.

My thoughts are: (I wanted to add that I was told by both dealers that they were going to give me Plan X pricing because of my affiliation)

Allocation issue. Dealer B sales more trucks so they get more retail orders than Dealer A

Pricing and profit strategy on behalf of Dealer A. I'm getting Plan X pricing so I keep getting pushed back because the dealer is making more money on full retail price orders.

I don't know of any other reasons than one's above but if anyone else has an input. Let me know. Also, I'm about to have 2 trucks and will be more than willing to sell one for the $1000 deposit plus any sales tax implications that might apply. I'm pretty sure that either dealer will be happy to place it on their showroom floor and sell it for above list price.

It is getting beyond frustrating I ordered mine back in April and did my COVP June 14th I know it is by the commodities but truck spected the same as mine and ordered alot later then mine are being scheduled and I am an regional 02.

I feel the pain and anxiety as well. Ordered F250 Platinum with nearly all options on March 22nd and verified through Ford Marketing. It was switched to priority 02 about 30 days ago. Still nothing.

I am in same situation. Still nothing ...ordered confirmed 4/20/21 on the 2022 Lariat 6.7 Tremor.

I called Ford marketing today. Of course they could not give me much info, other than I was "still order in processing". He advised that (he could not confirm), but he heard that Ford had a stock pile of "higher end" chips and a shortage of "lower end" microchips. He explained that this could be a data point as why King Ranch and Platinum models were getting selected for production after orders being placed just a a month ago, but would not confirm.

My order is a Lariat Value 6.7 tremor F350. He suggested that I continue to wait OR put in a new order for a King Ranch/Platinum...and see if that moves my order along faster.

I would not mind a KR if it got my order processed to selected for production within next couple weeks.

Maybe Ford gives a priority to the higher trim levels KR, Platinums

I feel like if I change my order again, I am just pushing myself further down the line and making things that much more difficult to an already chaotic situation at Ford.

I wouldn't change if i were you. I ordered my Platinum F250 loaded w/AS on 3/22 and still don't have any information other than it is still pending VIN/Scheduling.  Of course have Tonneau cover, spray in bedliner and AS so any and all the commodity issues have hit me but not giving up hope. They may never schedule my truck and then just swap it with the 2023 when they come out. I doubt they will honor the same pricing, but one could always hope.

I'm still bitter those with higher commodity requirement trucks ordered even after my simple XL are getting BUILD DATES and VINS already.  Its really not fair but oh well.

Don't feel too bad... I ordered a fully loaded F250 Platinum on March 22 (verified with Ford Marketing) and i haven't heard a peep out of anyone. I call Ford Marketing every Friday just to hear that my order hasn't been scheduled, "Sorry"  Oh well... was pretty close to ordering a Shoalwater Bay Boat but they are running about 10 months out and the Mercury Motors are backlogged about 1 year out.  It is what it is!!!!

  5. My dealer call me yesterday to text them a copy of my Driver's license. I asked them why now and they said the Ford was requiring proof on all retail orders to prevent dealers just calling the retail to get stock faster.  The salesman said she requested 10 other customers for their DL. Seems reasonable.

Were you given any tentative delivery date?

I wasn't given one and they would be crazy to give a date with the delays that keep happening... Hopefully, vendor production picks up substantially from now through the end of year. If there are less 2022 Heavy Duty Trucks built than the normal production, they should be classified as limited editions and hold even more resale value than ever before.  Right? (wishful thinking...)

you need to call the salesman your ordered with and ask him to add your email to the order.  I ordered 3/16 and had email a few days later.

I called the sales manager and he explained to me that he never adds the retail customers personal info to the order because of all the spam that goes out as a result of Ford having your email. So I can only assume that all is good. He mentioned that he already had 12 Super Duty retail orders and that Ford is definitely putting a priority on retail orders but that doesn't mean much if commodities can't be obtained in a timely manner. All i can do is keep my fingers crossed and hope for the best.

  8. So I need some input to make me feel better. I have read that people who have placed their orders have been getting confirmation emails. I placed my order on March 22nd but have yet to receive any confirmation with the exception of my dealer stating its been order. I signed the order form, sent it back and gave them $1000. Please let me know when you placed your order and when or if you received the confirmation email from Ford direct. Thanks in advance. BTW, my priority was 19 and I attached my signed order.
