Is your truck two or four wheel drive, I have a one in order and am curious about fuel mileage?

    2022 F250 Lariat CC 6.7 4X4 HCTT Mileage:

    14-16 around town

up to 22 on the highway/tollroad at 75+ mph

up to 24 on US highways at 65 mph

13.6 average towing loaded 6,000 pound trailer for 3500 miles.

I assume no wireless charging or it’s not good enough?

Nope.  In this day and age, the Lariat is a well equipped but, the Value package is mid level trim.  Had no need for a sunroof.

Really like the auto bright headlights and lane change that "knows" when the trailer is attached.

  3. Took delivery Aug 2nd, 2022 Lariat 6.7.  After 1000 miles to break in the engine, we towed the trailer from Texas to Michigan and back.  The odometer has 5500 miles on it.  The ten speed shifts are almost unnoticed, unless you have your foot in it.  Tracks and brakes straight.  City mileage is 15-16, highway at 65 is 24, highway at 75 is 22. Not bad for a diesel?

Really like the lane change warning is adjustable for the trailer length. The 12" screen is very nice.  The connected nav will drain an iPhone if not plugged in.

  4. During the 5 months of waiting for delivery boxes start piling up in the garage:

Husky Bed mat (better on old knees that a spray liner)

    Husky floor mats

    Husky rear wheel well liners

Husky tailgate mat, installed will 3M auto moulding tape (I'm not drilling into a new tailgate!)

    Husky mud flaps

2021 Takeoff Ford running boards ($300 for the pair, just 10 minutes to install).

Most of the Husky items were "open box" from Amazon.  Discounted 15% - 75%.

    Almost forgot the Bakflip 4...

Dealer had a stock order get delivered for a F250D.  I'm still waiting for the window sticker, but I was set on F350D.  I'm getting a 30' 5th wheel with a GVWR of 13,400, loaded pin weight unknown, but it also carries about 200 gallons total in all three tanks.  I expect the bed and pass compartment to be full.

I know the F350D SRW will tow just about everything except monster 5ers, with this one being smaller, will I still be ok, or getting into max cargo capacity?

Update: It does have high capacity option

The High Capacity/Max trailer option increased the payload to 2892 on my 2022 Lariat

  6. HotRunrGuy, that's the problem.  The payload varies based on the options of each truck.  Best I can research, a 2022 F250 LariatCC 4x4 shortbed  w/ HCTT SRW 6.7 should have a payload of about 3300 pounds?  The F350 is close to that number.  The Chevy 2500HD LTZ is 3100-3300 and the Ram 2500 Laramie is 2400ish.

  7. In Texas, initial registration is 6.25% of vehicle cost/fair market value.  With disabled vet plates, the yearly renewal is $50.  Same for an F250 or an F350.

Our main concern is the payload capacity pulling a 5th wheel or bumper pull trailer.  With a 5th wheel pin weight of 2000-2500 pounds, a loaded diesel F250 is really close to max payload or over it.

The F250 GCWR jumps from 23500 to 30,000 with the HCTT package 535.  The F350 GCWR is 30,000 unless you opt for the 10,000 GVWR package.  The actual payload is on the door Safety Compliance Sticker and not published in the Ford Towing guide.

  8. What am I missing?  We are on the edge of ordering a SD.  It's my understanding there is no functional difference between an F350 and an F250 with the high capacity trailer towing package.

As I understand, the HCTT package adds the F350 larger differential and heavier springs to a F250.  The price difference is minimal but, in some states the registration and insurance is more with the F350.

  9. Thanks for the add!  After 3 white 4x4 crewcab F150's (XLT, Lariat, and Platinum) in 9 years, we are upgrading and ordering a 2022 SRW F250 Lariat with the HCTT package.  Looking forward to towing our RV with a little more power and less sway.

Yes, it will be white but with the lower accent stripe.  Change is hard...
