In my sig. Could have picked up 200 #'s more with the A/T tires but didn't want them. I'm very happy with my choices.

Scheduled Tuesday for it now. Had the service writer verify with the tech that they had the software for the Super Dutys now. He said they did. We'll see Tuesday.

Just spoke to my dealer.. they said they are aware of the issue and have the software.. just need to schedule an appointment
That's what I was told Friday. They didn't per my previous post. Just got off the phone with Ford. Multiple times on hold as they checked status of recall for Super Dutys. He stated that software for F-150 and Maverick was released the other day and software for Expedition and Navigator was released today. He was not showing anything yet for the Super Dutys. He started a ticket and advised to keep checking with the dealer. Oh well. Wait and see. I'll post back if I get the go a head for mine at my dealer. Hope everyone gets theirs resolved. My trailer is not that big, but i feel for those hauling large. Not a good thing to be losing your trailer brakes!

Are people able to get the brake recall fixed yet? A friend has a 22 F450 that I am going to borrow to get my fifth wheel home this weekend. The dealer claims they can do the brake recall on Thursday. Any possibility we can believe it will be fixed? Fifth wheel weighs 16.5 k empty and I don't like the idea of "maybe" having brakes especially using a friend's truck... Anyone have some words of reassurance?
So far apparently the answer is no. My dealer says Ford is finalizing the software but no go as of Monday when I had my truck is as stated above. Definitely not good. Just waiting for my dealer to call they have it, or someone to post that they got the reflash. Put your VIN in NHTSA and it should show the recall. Letters from Ford not going out until the 18th I believe.

I called my dealer last Friday for the heat shield recall and the trailer brake recall. Was assured they could take care of both. I explained about the trailer brake module reflash. He told me they had the new software. Made an appointment for Monday. Took it in and dropped off. Got a call in the afternoon that it was ready for pickup but the reflash wasn't done as they don't have the new software. They checked and said Ford hasn't finalized it yet. He told me he would call as soon as they got it. Was very apologetic. We'll see. If anyone gets theirs done I would hope they post here.

GCD, can you please elaborate? I am not aware of a recall for the "under body heat shield".
Update, I searched and found this applies to "select 2021 Ford F-650 and F-750 vehicles with 7.3-liter engine".

Just called my dealer. They have the software and will take care of the other recall for the under body heat shield also. Going in Monday for both.

I also went with a BedRug impact. But I also have a cap on it. Very pleased with it so far.

I agree. Put mine on a couple of weeks ago. $313.99 delivered to my door from Torklift. Included $50 discount they had.

Yes. A pain when new. A little silicone lube and work it around a bit. Now spins freely.

Thank you GCD; I am right at that limit. We have been told that the Leer and Century are the same. May I ask which model you chose and why?
Got this one with removable roof racks for my kayaks. I like the one piece side windows. They vent from the bottom rear. Nice if raining. Also got the sliding, removable front window for ability to clean. So far I'm very pleased with it.

Mine with 18" all season tires is 78 1/4" to the top of my Leer cab high cap on my stone driveway. The truck cab measures the same. I have the removable racks on my cap. The mounts sit a half inch higher with racks off.

Mine is going to be the 7.3 with a short bed. Will it have a 34 gallon tank? I see that there is a 29 gallon tank also.
Transfer Flow is finishing up certification of a 58 gal tank for the gas short beds. Can't wait!

Also in NJ. New truck was $479 for title and 4 year registration. Title fee according to state web page is $85.

That sucks. That's one of the reasons I thought this would be a good addition to the truck. You would think it would be under warranty.
Doesn't look like it. That's why I'd keep one on a hitch bracket. Can also use it from the rear receiver as well. Much more versatile. Plus, don't have to carry the weight when just in town. My 2 cents. Also easier to clean, service, or repair.
-
Might want to rethink that option.

Well I would love to check the status myself, but I can't get my dealer to send me a copy of the VVR or will he tell me the boxcar number so I can track it.
Damn sad customer service! I would press the sales manager or the dealer general manager for that info. Only takes a minute for them to pull it up. I think I would be planted in the showroom discouraging customers if they refused to pull it up. Ridiculous! Good luck.

I feel your pain guys. My F-350 has been stuck in Minot, North Dakota since the 9th with no movement so far:
In Transit - Delay- Conveyance Mechanical Failure (Burlington Northern Railroad ) Minot, ND Jan-09-2022
To know it's basically only one state away is excruciating.
I remember a member tracking his rail car a while back. Tracking showed it in Chicago for like two weeks. He finally got someone at CSX to check status. Apparently the car had a brake line fail and it was waiting repair. Sucks! Good luck and hoping for speedy delivery.

I wouldn't consider the 250. I didn't need a 350 but figured I might as well future proof as you are considering. It rides great and tows my trailer fine. I don't have to worry about what I'm towing or how much weight I have in the bed. I've read about too many people that regret getting the 250 when they find that they can't haul what they thought they could due to decreased payload. Good luck, whatever way you go.

Nice looking rig. I am also considering a bedrug - provided i actually get my truck and actually get my topper. I'm curious what you think about the bed rug. I drive on a lot of unpaved roads that generate a ton of dust that accumulates in the bed of my truck. Every so often i have to pull out my bed mat and powerwash the dirt out of the back and the topper. I don't know if the bedrug makes that better or worse - will it block dust or just make it a bigger pain to clean.
Thanks. Can't answer as I'm just installing it. I have the full one with front and sides. The front and sides zipper all the way around to the bottom. Easy enough to hose or power wash the entire thing while installed. I'd look at sealing up your topper and tailgate better. That would help. Here's a pic before I install the velcro tape. With the topper it just sits in place by itself.
