  1. I was going to hold out also, but then said screw it.  With no time frame as to when it would be available, I felt I wouldn’t get the truck until early next year.  Didn’t want to wait that long.  If I feel I really miss it (which I don’t think I will), I’ll trade up to a ‘24 in a couple of years.  I’m sure there will be plenty more changes by then that I will want! ?

I test drove a 450 with it and really liked it, so last March I ordered my 450 with it. The latest build date was 10/25, but I don't believe that would have happened, so I cancelled it a couple weeks ago. I still don't have a new date, so I'm not sure I made the right decision. At this point, I'm even questioning my decision to even order a 22, when a full model change is on the horizon. Heck, I'm even hoping Ram offers a better transmission in their trucks. That along with a wide-track front axle, and I'd be ordering a full model change Ram pronto... whenever that happens.

If it was for the wide track front end, I think I’d order something other than a Ford also.  The Cummins is a great motor!

Just got home with our 22 F450 and I'll say the ride was very nice! I expected it to be a bouncy, rough ride but it was anything but that. A very pleasant surprise, I would say it rides better than our 2012 F350 that we had previous to this truck.

    That’s great to hear!

I ordered 8/8 and schedule to be built 9/19. It all depends on what options your are getting. The people with AS seem to have to most delays. Many of them are scheduled to be built 10/25 just to give you an idea.

I would be happy to get a date…..any date!   I ordered in July and am still not scheduled.

  5. I’m expecting a stiff ride….but there is a difference between “stiff” and rattle your brains out if you know what I mean.  I think my 350 rides great!  And yes, from what I saw, there shouldn’t be much of a difference between the 350 & 450 which is why I ordered the 450.

I do read a lot about balancing issues though which is why I’m curious if that causes a lot of vibration problems.

  6. I asked this in another forum, but will ask here also.  For those that have 450’s, how’s the ride when empty?  I ordered a ‘22 (coming from a ‘17 350).  I drove a used ‘19 450 recently and it was horrible on the highway empty (over 60 mph).  It vibrated so bad the passenger seat was banging against the B post!  Slower speeds were fine. Many have said that is not normal, but I have had some people tell me they ride great towing but horrible empty.

let’s hear some real world experience!

For me, this will be a daily driver…..mostly towing a 14’ enclosed trailer, (well loaded), and occasionally towing a 42’ fifth wheel.
