All you guys pi$$ed at Ford, what are they supposed to do? They can't get the parts. It's not their fault, and there really isn't much they can do about it. It sucks, yes, but they are trying to make a compromise to get you the truck.
I'm seeing so many people make posts like this sympathizing with Ford. To be clear, I'm not blaming Ford for not being able to get the modules. I'm also not blaming them for wanting to get customers their trucks. What I am blaming them for is how they chose to handle it. Many people step up to Platinums over a Lariat Ultimate specifically for the active motion seats. Best I can tell, these two modules (one for each seat) are around $550 each when you buy them from a discount online ford parts dealer. The local dealer would be even more. The seats have to be removed in order to access the part of the seat where these are installed. So $1100 in parts plus 1 - 2 hours of labor is what it would cost to have these two missing parts installed. But instead we get a measly $300 discount on our order. This will hurt the resale value of the truck a lot more than $300. If I had known this would be missing from my build I would have saved several thousand dollars and ordered a Lariat Ultimate (and gotten the truck a lot quicker too).
Ford could have given people any two of the following three options:
1. you can have a $XXX discount
2. when parts are available we will notify you so you can take your truck to your local dealer and have them installed
3. your truck ill stay on a microchip hold until the modules are available
I don't think anyone could have faulted them if we had the option to get the part installed later (or wait). But instead they forced option 1 down everyones throat.

Now I know why my build date finally settled on 5/26. Sucks a fat one.

Great
after waiting 9monrhs +
still not scheduledi won’t get the truck I ordered
Over 100000$ and they take out motions seats
ford should make it right some how
300$ credit really
boy they don’t want return customers ?
Definitely sucks a fat one. That is one of the big reasons why people spend thousands to upgrade to a Platinum. After waiting this long you are basically told “sorry - here’s $300 - now go pound sand!”

Orders that are not updated by May 25, 2022 will be amended by Ford on May 26, 2022. Scheduled and unscheduled stock orders will be amended by Ford on May 26, 2022.
SUMMARY
The automotive industry continues to be confronted by supply chain shortages of a wide variety of components used to manufacture Ford vehicles. As a way for customers to get their Super Duty trucks sooner, Ford has implemented the following product offering change process.Multi-Contour Seats with Active Motion® Removal (91X)
- Vehicle orders with Multi-Contour Seats with Active Motion® (Driver and Passenger) (included on Limited, Platinum, and King Ranch Ultimate Package) will require Multi-Contour Seats with Active Motion® Removal 91X through the remainder of the 2022 model year. The window sticker will reflect a credit in the amount of $300 for Multi-Contour Seats with Active Motion® Removal.
- Please be advised Multi-Contour Seats with Active Motion® Removal will be listed on the window label at no charge/no credit on King Ranch models not equipped with the Ultimate Package. There is no credit associated with this configuration as seats without Multi-Contour with Active Motion® functionality are the standard condition on King Ranch.
- Dealers should communicate with retail and fleet customers regarding changes required to their orders. Following this communication, dealers should add Option Code 91X (Multi-Contour Seats with Active Motion® Removal) to Super Duty retail & fleet scheduled and unscheduled orders by May 25, 2022. Those orders that are not updated by May 26, 2022 will be amended by Ford to include Multi-Contour Seats with Active Motion® Removal (91X) on May 26, 2022.
- Unscheduled stock orders including the Multi-Contour Seats with Active Motion® feature will be amended by Ford to include Multi-Contour Seats with Active Motion® Removal (91X) on May 26, 2022. After this date, Option Code 91X will need to be added to all newly entered orders with the Multi-Contour Seats with Active Motion® feature.
CUSTOMER ACKNOWLEDGEMENT FORM
Customers purchasing a Super Duty Limited, Platinum, or King Ranch Ultimate Package with Multi-Contour Seats with Active Motion® Removal must sign the linked customer acknowledgement form to acknowledge their understanding that the vehicle is not equipped with the feature identified and they will not be charged for the feature. What does this mean for those of us with trucks currently in production? The current window sticker doesn’t say anything about the removal.

That would definitely be an improvement. However getting scheduled is a big problem too.
I don’t know if there is any correlation, but my F450 Platinum’s order status changed to “In Production” this afternoon. This after 10 pushbacks. Was originally scheduled for March 7th. Last pushback was to week of May 23rd, and it looks like my build to day finally settled on May 26th.

Well it looks as like those of us that have orders for KRU, Platinums, or Limiteds, (and not scheduled) might as well cancel our orders now because they probably won't get built. If they aren't going to be delivered until late October, November, or later it blows the whole summer. Then the end of the MY will come and they will say "sorry you will have to re order.
I know the blah, blah blah. Been following this forum since early December and have read probably 250 or more pages.
Ordered 11/4, and have been priority 2 since mid January. This was going to be the first Ford. Now apparently Ford stands for Fumbles Orders for Retail Delivery.
One of the employees from the Kentucky plant that normally posts on the Facebook page says they are working on a fix to get the trucks out without the multi contour module. It might end up being similar to the PM sensor that is not being installed on the 6.7 PSD until a later date by the dealer. At this point I’ll take mine without the module temporarily over an indefinite wait.

Was driving by dealer
so I stopped and try to get some better answers
Manager to busy to meet me
but sent out a paper that says order status(in order processing)
and (unscheduled clean)
aug 26-2021
then sales man came out
he could not confirm priority 10
or where in line or what regional manager is saying
He just says that there lots of cars/vans/trucks still waiting just as long as me
I told him to find out where in line Iam at and to ask regional manager to lower priority
will see when he calls me
?
I'm not super thrilled with my dealer either, but this is complete sh**. Even my dealer and manager was much more forthcoming with information than this load of crap. It sucks that we're all stuck between a rock and a hard place now because of the receipt price increases and cutoff of new orders.

I found this posted on Facebook and I think is a good document everyone should bring to the dealer when picking up your truck. It clearly spells out the price protection process.

I thought this was interesting, I was just messing around on Fords build site, and they now allow you to select a bunch of options, unlike before for the last month or so. But I was putting my platinum build together and noticed the "multi-contour delete" option. Is this a potential item that could be holding up the build times for platinums/KR/Limiteds? If so, I will gladly remove that to get mine built quicker. I assume this is just the massaging part that is deleted? Not the actual seat cushions and leather used in those trims? Maybe someone will chime in and give me some more detail before I call my dealer and ask for the delete option
Very interesting observation. I’ve waited so long for my Platinum F450 (8th pushback to 5/16 now) that I want my massaging seats! Lol.

I’m assuming both of your build weeks are 5/2? My F450 Platinum is scheduled for a build week of 5/9. Eagerly waiting for that window sticker and “in production” email.

My F450 Platinum is scheduled for week of May 9th after being pushed out 7 times. The frequency of the pushbacks have slowed down a lot in the last month or so. I think I escaped the dreaded Friday night pushback email once again. But to my surprise I did get an email from my sales rep just a few minutes ago saying I’m scheduled for production for May 15th. I can only assume this is the currently scheduled production “day” rather than “week”. Does anyone know at what point you go from having a production week to a production day? I always assumed it happened 1-2 weeks before.

Yep, mine too. Bumped 4/25 to 5/2. F-450 Platinum ordered 10/21
I think this was my seventh bomb and I was really hoping for a reverse bump this time.
Similar story here. F450 Platinum ordered 11/5. Seventh pushback last night from 5/2 to 5/9. I'm jealous of the ones who get scheduling change emails that move their build date back instead of forward.

Hi cyberdman,
Just hoping for some information on the status of my gray F250 7.3L Lariat build.

Thank you.

Based on Ice-Capades info, I suspect another gremlin. I don't have AS or spray-in bedliner, but with a F-450 KRU have most of the other commodity issues. I just got scheduled last week, for a "scheduled to day" of 1st April. Haven't got the window sticker yet, so that may have changed.
Hopefully you will get a VIN soon.
You got scheduled just last week for April 1st? What was the original scheduled to “week” when you got scheduled last week? I haven’t seen anyone get a scheduled build date so soon after getting their VIN. Especially for an F450.

Received the scheduled for production email on 2/1 with a build week of 3/7On 2/4 the build week was pushed to 3/14
On 2/7 the build week was pushed to 3/21
On 2/15 the build week was pushed to 3/28
On 2/17 the build week was pushed to 4/4
On 2/25 the build week was pushed to 4/11
On 3/2 the build week was pushed to 4/18
On 3/16 the build week was pushed to 4/25
No email today…..
Ordered my 450 Platinum on 11/5. I got scheduled a week before you for 3/7. I’ve been pushed back six times to 3/14, 3/21, 4/4, 4/11, 4/25, and the latest pushback was last Wednesday to 5/2. -
Hi cyberdman. Can I please have an update on my build? I received an email from Ford that read like I’ve been unscheduled. It ended by stating: Once your vehicle is ready to move into the production schedule, you’ll be hearing from us again.
Dealer Code: F72403
Order Code: J31L
VIN - 1FT8W4DT0NED84093
Thank you very much.

If order is scheduled for production = no email.
If order is not scheduled for production = email.
I have a build date and still got that same email.

I received this email tonight even though I’m already scheduled.
I was originally scheduled for March 7th in late January. Then each week I’ve been getting pushed back later and later. First to March 14th, then March 21, April 5th, April 18th, April 25th, and as of this past Wednesday - May 2nd. And tonight I get this email basically telling me once my vehicle is ready to move into the production schedule they will notify me again. Sounds to me like I’ve been unscheduled.
-
Just got the dreaded email again at 5:00pm PST. F450 pushed back for a sixth time in 7-weeks. Now May 2nd (started at March 7th).

I wonder if perhaps he means the order is previewing.

Ford said they would automatically add the 91X option on May 26th even if a dealer took no action. Wouldn't it have been better to just let it happen on its own?
Regarding the price protection, my understanding is when Ford confirms the vehicle is sold to the same person who placed the original order, they will refund the dealer in 30-45 days. This is the first I've heard 90 days.
My dealer unfortunately is taking a similar approach. They said once they get the refund from Ford they will forward it to me. Pretty crappy, but what can I do? My brother just picked up his F250 (my 450 is still being built). When he inquired about them floating that price protection so that he wouldn't have to pay tax & license on the higher amount their response was that they wouldn't float it because they've gotten burned from Ford in the past because of things like spelling errors on names, etc. I think this is BS because even if Ford denied a price protection claim over something like a mis-spelled name, I can't imagine it would be very difficult to get remedied by the area rep. They also threw in the fact that they were the only dealer in the area selling for $450 over invoice. I guess you have to pick your battles. I would say at a minimum to get something in writing from them that they will reimburse you the price protection amount.
