It's officially day 500 for us today, 151 on the carryover. Just nuts.

I'm at 496 today :). However, I'm lucky enough to have mine ready to pick up at the dealer. I just need to get to Iowa, which will likely be in a week or so. It's been a super frustrating process. I bailed on my original Platinum order because I was tired of waiting and wanted it by this summer. I also didn't want to pay an additional $8k. Ticked about the non-LED taillight thing. My 2017 mid-level Tahoe has LED taillights. I don't see any case against Ford. Everything is subject to change at any time. I suspect that having LED taillights in the order guide, etc. was just a miscommunication between product mgmt and the doc people. Happens all the time.

Anyway, good luck with yours! I'll post some picks when I get it.

Has anyone seen or heard if Ford is forcing upper trims to get the Multi-contour seat delete? I know 23 150s were forced to delete the massaging portion and to me why the heck would I pay the premium price for a Platinum if I can get the same thing in a Lariat for 4-5k cheaper

Yeah, the '22 SD's lost them for about 4 months of production last year. You got a ridiculous $300 credit if they were deleted.

Yes when I ordered the order guide Saud LEDs all around. Even the update order guide lists LED tails

I see that my Lariat window sticker does not mention LED tail lights, although it does list LED REFLECTOR HEADLAMPS and LED CTR HIGH MNT STOP LAMP. I would think that if it was going to get the LED tail lights, they would be listed, too. I was happy to see them in the order guide and disappointed to hear that they aren't showing up on trucks.

Update: For those that are ordering a new truck, do yourself a favor and check the quad light box. If you didn’t however there is a GREAT option for aftermarket lights from Morimoto. Folks recommended them on here and they are top shelf material. I opted for the “Hybrid” version because I wanted it to look as stock as possible. Also the cost fo these were about $1200.00 and you get a trade in allowance for $300. This is reasonable. Install was a breeze IF, you take your time, go slow, step by step. When installing, I did change one thing and that is the power source for the DRL portion of these lights. They wanted you to tap into the fuse box on the ECM fuse. I didn’t think this was a good idea and went looking for another 10amp fuse. Turns out, because I ordered the Snow plow prep, I had another option. Worked great. Next up was mud flaps. I ordered and installed Duraflap product and once again, this is a top shelf product, easy to install and such great care was taken by the manufacture to even account for dissimilar metals. Most folks won’t even understand this but know it’s important for corrosion. Next I changed all the turns and brake lights over to LED and made all correction in Forscan to stop hyper flash. So there you go.

Nice! The truck looks awesome. Did you get Duraflaps all around or are the front factory flaps okay. I'm waiting on a 2023 450 to show up and the Duraflaps will be one of my first additions.

Mine has been built and sitting in a lot since 1/23. I've seen people driving theirs that were ORDERED after that...wtf is right.

Sadly, I expect to see KR's, Platinums, and Limiteds driving around before a lot of us see our already built trucks.

Just to add to the confusion, Lariat ultimate includes the Tow tech package, and it seems that its still the same price that its always been.

I'm wondering if the trucks already built with the Tow Tech package will get the Trailer Hitch Assist added before they're shipped. I'll bet it's just a software change.

We was told at the plant to expect full production starting this Monday.  Hopefully we can get this production going.

Apparently some FB plant guys are saying that you got oktb on diesels Friday and several people say that their diesel has shipped. Have you heard anything?

Wouldn't surprise me. The good thing that our trucks are already built means there most likely aren't any missing items from shortages. Ex: Heated Steering Wheel, CHMSL Camera, etc.

I totally agree with that. I keep waiting for them to start dropping features. I'm half surprised that they opened up the J2 order banks. If they can build those, maybe than can ship ours.

Any word on when diesels will start shipping? Mine was produced 2/9 and sitting somewhere on a lot. Hoping it is soon as I am very anxious. I am sure Ford is doing everything they can to get whatever it is (rumored EPA) approved so they can ship, but the lack of communication has been slightly frustrating. I've already read of a few people jumping ship to a GM or Ram as they are tired of waiting.

You're a better person than I am if you're just slightly frustrated :).

Storage means that it is parked off site waiting on the OK to Ship.  If it's a gas truck, then it should be coming back to the plant to be processed down the final inspection line and out the door for shipping.  Diesel trucks are still waiting for the OK to Ship.

Can you drop any clues about when oktb might happen for diesels? I've seen 4/13 tossed around, but that's awfully late and hard to believe that no diesels will ship until then. Thanks!

  11. 4 hours ago, waloud said:

They have already started setting up OT and parking to bring back 23 models to ship.  As soon as Ford gets the ok to buy they will start processing what has already been built.

That would be awesome, but I've heard this so many times over the last month. It's proven to be a big disappointment each time, so it's hard to get excited about it.

Ha Ha. I see you edited your original post a bit :).

I just got a text from my salesman that my 23 f250 ccsb lariate is supposed to be delivered the middle of this month... has anyone else heard anything? Seems a bit suspect to me since we haven't heard anything on the oktb yet.

I have yet to see a post about a salesperson that has a clue about what's going on.

The ride quality is actually great, and I was concerned about this as I had driven some older ones and they were pretty harsh. I never once had driver fatigue and could easily drive on for hours. It got very interesting when I got to Portland. After 6 hours of sitting in the same 500' spot on i5, I convinced some big rigs to split apart and ended up scooting between semi's/cars on the freeway, going over a median with 8"+ of wet snow. I have to move barricade's, drove over downed trees and garbage can lids wiggling my way through downtown Portland to essentially bypass the i5. I ended up on, with a group of trucks following me, on I suppose a spur road where I could see i5. Once i5 was clear I hopped back on and 75MPH the rest of the way home. Ended up, at 22 hours straight in the seat. Was tired, but never felt I didn't have enough truck. It was a scene out of the walking dead with dozens and dozens of folks that had abandoned their cars from either being wrecked or ran out of electricity/gas and started walking. I offered to help a few but most seemed to know where they were going. Crazy! Some pics in the first few minutes.
No pulling in groves UNLESS they were super bad in which I'd scoot over a lane. This happen in one spot I can think of pulling up out of a canyon in California. My tires are the traction M/S traction tires. They are pretty meaty. Now for mileage. At 75 I would get 16-17mpg, but if I slowed it down to 65mph I can pull almost 20 on the freeway. So speed matters. At 65MPH, it's pulling 1900 RPM. Truck also has an ECO mode I tested and honest I didn't see a huge change other than it flattened throttle response. One interesting thing is I ordered my truck with the adaptive cruise and when you are going down the freeway, if you turn on the turn signal the engine immediately changes tone and comes to life, turn the blinker off and it stops. It's like the truck knows you MAY be about to pass a car. Turning radius is just CRAZY compared to my last few Super duties. THAT is about my favorite part. The sound system in this thing is badass for a factory system.

Some things I don't like? Tailgate release is a button. I want a lever, period. I like the power release, but still want a handle to pull. Next would be the bed camera. Why the hell can't I engage the bed camera when moving. Seriously, what's the point as if I'm sitting still, I'll go have a look myself. This is dumb but I'm sure it's to protect the world from idiots. Lastly headlights. It is offensive to be that on a $85K truck that it is even possible to have shitty terrible headlights. I mean BAD. So for any who read this. ORDER THE UPGRADED HEADLIGHTS period. Forget what it costs, do not screw yourself out of visibility. And yes, I can squint 20/20 so I have great eyeballs. Ford shoulf be ashamed and honestly, I should have known better.

Sounds like an exciting end to the trip! glad it all ended up well. Thanks for the info on the truck. We'll eventually have a 700 mile trip from Iowa to Denver if it ever gets delivered (it's a '23). I'm anxious for it to happen.

Bummer to hear about the headlights. I know that you can get aftermarket LED lights, but I think they're pricey. I'll have LEDs, so I'm hoping they're good. Have fun with your truck!

After almost exactly a year, it is safe and sound in my driveway after a 1,750 mile drive home. Performed flawlessly. Even got stuck in the massive Portland snowstorm yesterday for 7 hours and tested all the 4wd systems. One interesting thing though is there was a production error (I think) because it has the 5th wheel prep package and I didn't order it and it's not on the sticker. Pretty strange. Anyone else have this happen? Not complaining.
    On Edit:

    Included

The 5th-Wheel/Gooseneck Hitch Prep Package is standard on all F-450 models.

I guess I was confused because I was looking up F350's as well.

Looks awesome. I'm waiting on a Rapid Red 450, too. How was the 1750 mile ride? Rough or okay? Did it pull from grooves, etc., like I hear with the 19.5's? MPG? Sorry for all of the questions, but I've been curious.

Yeah salesman doesn’t know why.. I wish they would have a reason like if they are pushing them because of the 22 rollovers which is fine with me they should but don’t communicate the reason I’m not okay with that

I went through the whole frustrating process last year while waiting for a MY22 order that was never built. Don't expect to get any insight on anything that happens, good or bad.

Found out today my Lariat Build week has been pushed to the week of April 23rd now moved from the week of February 20th ?‍♂️

That really stinks. I've seen a number of two month pushes. Pure speculation, but I'm wondering if it's partly because they still haven't shipped any trucks and have dug themselves quite a shipping hole. Maybe they need some time to climb out a bit. Like the old saying goes, "If you find yourself in a hole, quit digging."

    I work at the plant

Can you shed any light on OKTB? I was originally excited to be early in the production cycle, but I suspect that it's going to turn into a shipping nightmare. With nothing shipping and 1000's of trucks being stashed in every nook and cranny, I figure that I'll see mine (built 2/6) when the plant has to shut down '23 production for '24's.

    here is mine

I think that everyone is just waiting for Ford to start shipping. I've got a 450 Lariat Ultimate that's been in production for over two weeks. A tech at the plant said that it's built, but on "Launch Hold", which I believe will be lifted once the plant passes the "ok to buy" review. That's hopefully going to happen today. Fingers crossed. It's a bit depressing seeing photos of the speedway full of trucks again. I hope that shipping is less of a disaster than it was for '22's.

So that’s the strange thing and I don’t know enough about the different status levels.  The way I understood what the customer service rep said via chat was that my order and been selected and sent to the plant and that the plant would provide the build date. I still do not have a VIN or a build date.

I'll admit that I'm no expert, but typically, "sent to the plant" has meant that it's about to go into production. Maybe it's a terminology issue. If you don't yet have a VIN, I'm not sure what it means.

An interesting data point to throw on the pile here. I just got off chat with Ford and they told me that my order is still in order processing but has been sent to the plant and that I should expect a build date any day now. I’ll believe it when I see it and keep my fingers crossed that the report was accurate.

Nice. When is your scheduled build date?
