  1. There was a service message published by Ford last Thursday acknowledging this problem... There is a software fix that is expected to be available in October... all of the random "fixes" that have been done for this issue are extremely unlikely to actually fix the problem and are likely either making it worse or just kicking the problem down the road a few days. Wait until there is a fix, DO NOT go to your dealer and ask for a loaner. Call your dealer and talk to them about it and ask them to pull up SSM 51015 and ask if there are any updates. If they don't have anything, taking it to the dealer for diagnostics will be a waste of everybody's time.

I want to get a 3rd FOB for our new 350.  What are your experiences with the $70 ‘OEM fob’ that you see for sale in multiple places?  I plan on programming it with forscan.

    Such as this:

Be careful with purchasing keys from places like that, Fords can be very picky about which key they have. I would check with your dealer for the part number then use that to order one online.

You don't need forscan to program a third key if you already have two. There's a procedure in the owners manual to program a spare key using the ignition switch, backup slot, and brake pedal.

My truck that I ordered has been showing as in production for the last 2 weeks. I have had a window sticker for pretty much the same amount of time. Now when I try to load the window sticker it tells me this vehicle has not yet had a window sticker released? Has anyone had this before? Is it just a glitch or?

It's a glitch. Don't read into the window sticker appearing and reappearing. If it is still in production it is probably still waiting on a module or other component. Your dealer should be able to give you a better idea through the visibility report.

Not all supply chain issues are semi-conductor related.  The three main items causing SD delays are Fifth wheel prep, Spray in bed-liner, and Adaptive Steering.  The first two definitely do not have semi-conductor chips and for the last one we assume it is caused by chips but we don't really know.   I think many (maybe most) of the supply chain issues are labor related.  Look at the delays we are seeing with just getting the built trucks to the dealerships because the trucks sit waiting to be picked up by transporters.  The same thing is happening with the parts and materials going from point A to point B which is often from overseas to the US.

The bedliner and 5th wheel are kind of labor related, but more due to the way trucks are being ordered now versus how they were in the past. Before all of these retail orders, dealers would have bedliners and 5th wheel kits installed locally instead of ordering them already equipped because it was quicker/cheaper to get them that way. Now that everything is being custom ordered, people are ordering the trucks with bedliners and 5th wheel, which means they have to get put on before they are shipped out. The facilities that previously had enough throughput to complete all of the bedliners and 5th wheel kits for all of the stock orders now do not have enough throughput for the sheer number that are being ordered. The physical facilities are not built to handle the number of trucks being ordered with those options. They could hire more people, but there's no room for extra people with the current facilities.

  5. If you have Fordpass enabled anyone who has access to PTS can see codes that have set within the last 90 days. I know a few people on this forum have access, but not sure how willing some would be to help out with that. Some of us *cough*me*cough* have nothing better to do with our time than look up this stuff on PTS so feel free to send over your VIN and I can look into what set at least. No guarantees that I can make any sort of diagnosis, but I can at least look up the codes that set.

I checked with my Dealer today and he told me that I was already at Priority 2 since December of 2021.

I'm still at "Unscheduled Clean" - Order Placed on 10/25/2021

No idea when I may see a Build Date or VIN

He also confirmed that Ford is NOT taking any Orders for MY 2022 Super Duty's after April 1st.

He did mention that unbuilt MY2022 Orders maybe rolled into MY2023. This is what he said Ford was discussing for whatever it's worth.

Unbuilt MY22 trucks will not be rolled into MY23. Any unbuilt trucks once MY22 production ends will simply remain unbuilt and unscheduled.

There's a problem with the WBDO (Web Based Dealer Ordering) system. On some models there's only one version of the Black Appearance Package available and on some neither version shows as available. I'll take a look tomorrow to see if Ford's fixed it.

My sales zone manager is looking into it and has confirmation as of yesterday afternoon that they are trying to get it fixed. No ETA as of yet, but hopefully we'll get it in there before any more scheduling happens.

What's the date at the bottom of the window sticker mean again?

It means nothing. People like to try and make it correlate with different things, but ultimately it is just the date the window sticker was generated. This has no relation to different steps along production. A new sticker is generated about once a week, sometimes sooner, throughout the production process and for a little while after the vehicle is produced.

I had found an informative post either on this site or some other that indicated that the dates change based on the status of the build.  In production - built - shipped.  But what threw me for a loop was even though ford tracker said it was in production on the 9th when it changed on the 17th I texted my sales representative to see if it was built and they told me that it did not go into production until the 17th thus my confusion.  Now the date may not mean squat based on a reply I recieved earlier but if that's the case then why change at all?  I could ask cyberdman my status but really not that pressed so I'll wait a week or two and see what happens.  I was more curious than anything.  Have a blessed day ?

The date change at the bottom of your window sticker has no meaning. The date changes about every week for a while during production but has no relation to the different statuses. It can continue to change for a couple months after production sometimes, too. Your dealer should be able to look up the exact status of your vehicle using the vehicle visibility tracker and tell you what is actually going on.

And that is what I thought but my salesman gave me a legitimate VIN that pulls up my truck on the tracker however he claims the the VVR does not show a build week.

Then your salesman doesn't know how to read the VVR. He's either too lazy or ignorant to figure it out. Shoot me a message with your VIN and I'll figure out your build date for you.

So I did call the dealer and they said because I have a VIN and the order was submitted to the plant I can’t change it. However it’s been three weeks from the time it was submitted to the plant and not assigned a build week.

Your truck would not have been scheduled or given a VIN if they did not have the specific parts allocated to your truck to build it. Can you post your full VIN? I'm sure there's some information about your truck that you aren't being told. Your dealer is correct that your truck order cannot be changed once a VIN is given, though.

  12. Most hybrid Escapes make a rattling type noise from the engine/transmission with the engine running at idle that goes away with light throttle. There was a PCM update for that a while back but I'm not sure what happened with that. My wife's Escape certainly still makes the noise when it's cold especially. It's not anything to worry about if it is the same noise.

  13. Ditto on the state taxes/registration costs. A 3/4 ton truck in Minnesota can cost anywhere from $400 to $700 depending on the MSRP, while 1 ton trucks are a flat $125 a year for registration. Other states are opposite.

I originally was going to opt for the F250 because of better ride, but then I started considering slide-in campers. The increased payload with the F350 makes it much easier to find a camper that I can use and stay under the payload limits. That combined with the significantly lower registration costs convinced me to go with the F350.

This gives me a little hope.  My rig has been sitting in Chicago since noon on 1/2/22.  Maybe it's in transit without it not updating.

    TTGX 980762

    Order:  2143

    Vin:  1FT8W3BN1NED14018

Yours has been moving. It just got changed to a different rail company which is why tracking probably stopped. It arrived in Cottage Grove on the 5th at 1:45AM, so it should be on a truck to the dealer any day now.

ice-capades, is a VVR proprietary information? I called my dealer a bit ago to ask him what the Railcar number was on my shipped F350 and he said he couldn't give that to me because it was proprietary information. From what I understand, the Railcar number is on the Secondary column of the VVR. Thanks!

Technically, yes. Anything on the vehicle visibility report is Ford Confidential. It is up to the dealer whether or not they want to share that information with you.
