You should be prepared to generate some hate on this post as others of us have been confirmed long before either of your order dates and still not even scheduled. Be happy and take what you get knowing that you have put the rest of us behind while allowing your dealer to take the other and make a huge markup off of it.

How do you know he doesn't need both trucks?

I though I would be proactive with my dealer and try and ask some questions that guys were suggesting here. Lower my priority code, how many trucks are ahead of me with their dealership and how many allocations they get a month. I got told there are too many variables to give an answer for the number of allocations, and a straight up no they can not lower my priority code. I asked if the regional Ford rep could do it and was told all COVP orders are submitted at priority code 10. I guess that’s fair, but anyone with the similar vehicle at another dealership with a lower priority code will get theirs built first I would think. They also could not tell me how many super duties are ahead of me. They said if I wanted to ensure I got it faster that I should delete some of my options that are on the commodity restriction list. Oh and they also would not tell me how much the PCO I received from Ford was worth. They said since it expires July 5, 2022 there would be not any reason to see how much it was worth until my truck actually arrives. If it was after July 5th I would not be able to use it anyway. They also know I can’t submit an order anywhere else for a super duty now so I am stuck with them.

Well, they aren't wrong on them lowering your priority code. The dealer cannot set it any lower than 10. The rest of that is just sad.

Welcome to the forum. May I suggest taking the time to read many of the threads to gain an understanding of the scheduling issues. We purchase from the dealers and they dictate to Ford the order that the trucks should be built, using Priority Codes. Provided your dealer manages their USOB efficiently, discounting commodity restraints, they will be built based on the dealer assigned priority. Yes, the dealer should normally manage it based on order date. Unfortunately, not all dealers manage the USOB effectively, which is a dealer problem, not Ford.

However, retail orders, which get supplemental allocations are impacted by the daily changing commodity restraints. If Ford went by order date alone, the factory would have more down time than production time. Using my truck as an example, many weeks it couldn't get built due to a lack of wheels and dually bed. So, if my truck was next, should they shut the factory until they received a shipment of wheels?

As with every major purchase these days patience is required. In my case, even ordering from a large dealer still required a wait of over 8 months.

The point of his post went totally over your head.

It certainly appears I’m in the minority here, let’s all just agree to disagree as grown-ups from opposing clans

There's nothing to agree or disagree about here. You obviously don't understand supply and demand and then decided to come riding in here on your high horse to disparage anyone that does. Lol

  5. Wow, hate to see you go you have been awesome for this community. If I could get one last check on my order I would appreciate it. I'm crossing my fingers that I've got a Vin now since I don't get email updates and my dealer is less than helpful. Lol

Hi cyberdman, when you have a chance can you check on this vehicle again for me? Atlas blue, 250, lariat, ultimate, tremor, BAP.

    Order code: P668

    Sales code: F24515

    Thanks for your help again.

Okay. If so, the information I provided wouldn't apply in that case. It would be surprising to see a stock order with priority code 80 get scheduled though.

That's what I said when he posted the build sheet. Lol

Once scheduled, an order cannot be cancelled by the Dealer. Ford requires the Dealer to provide written documentation of a retail customer's request to cancel an order that has been registered and verified in the COVP (Customer Order Verification Program) system. There are detailed compliance requirements and standards that must be met with Dealers performance and compliance being monitored and audited by Ford on an ongoing basis. Repeated non-compliance subjects the offending Dealer to penalties including loss of allocation and more. The monitoring and audit process includes a "Name Match" to ensure that retail orders are delivered to the legitimate, verified customers and that the orders were not submitted to bypass the ordering, scheduling and sales processes by increasing a dealership's stock inventory by creation of fictitious retail orders.

The market has changed substantially in the past two years, as evidenced by the tremendous increase in retail factory orders. Ford is adjusting to these changes by implementing new programs and policies to prioritize the scheduling and production for retail orders as efficiently as possible while also dealing with the extensive commodity restraints, supply chain disruptions, plant constraints, microchip shortages, supplier issues, etc. that are causing substantially longer OTD (Order to Delivery) times. The priority to get retail orders scheduled, produced and delivered as soon as possible to the verified retail customers. Ford will learn from experience and make adjustments as necessary to uphold the integrity of the retail order and sales practices while holding Dealers accountable for compliance in order to protect both the Ford brand and the dealerships that exercise professional and ethical business practices in providing the desired level of customer satisfaction.

If I remember correctly this guy's dealer ordered the truck he wanted as a stock order and the build sheet had a priority code of 80 on it to prove it.

Jason was lied to by his dealer.

I'm not sure why anyone would believe anything a dealer said at this point. They have no idea when a truck will be built. When I was shopping for a dealership to order through I had a saleman that wouldn't take X-plan but swore he would have the truck in 2 months. I laughed and told him no thanks, he never even asked what was on my build but just told me whatever he thought would get my business.

Hmmmm, well that is interesting.  I couldn't drop the spray-in liner because I didn't want to get rid of Black appearance (there are a few other threads with same sentiment).  Now we can.  Going over to Ford.com to see if the price is appropriately less.  Thanks for the callout, almost like you knew we would be interested!!

I just tried that, the website has not been updated to show the BAP w/o bedliner yet.

There isn’t any accountability for anyone. I sold my truck to Carmax and went back to the dealer. They used a bait and switch tactic that is illegal but Ford doesn’t care. They ordered my truck claiming it was an x-plan order. They tried to kill the deal repeatedly so they could sell it out from under me. They didn’t file xplan paperwork but told me it was xplan. They pointed and said “that’s the xplan price” but they won’t be held for violations because they never produced any paperwork. They refused to show me xplan paperwork and denied the rules. They took my pin and pretended it was xplan though. I was charged 275 in fees that they refused to go to 100 on. They also added a 299.00 security charge which they refused to remove. They didn’t honor the price protection. I signed for it. I had no choice. I already sold my truck and the sales manager just threatened to “kill the deal” if I didn’t agree. I still have to go back to pick it up with my cashiers check. I’ll file a complaint with ford that will go nowhere. Never again Ford. Never again. Worst time of my life. Spent almost 70 grand and they treated me like a criminal. Good luck to everyone else.

That is 100% on the dealer and I would expect that Ford would do something to make it right. They absolutely just didn't want you to buy that truck so they could sell it with a market adjustment.

I wasn’t willing to give up the BAP, so I had no choice but to keep the spray-in and wait. Like I said, I was anticipating a summertime build, so I couldn’t be more pleased so far.

Were you the guy that had the dealer screw them by ordering your truck as a stock order instead of a retail order?

My dealership wanted the PIN when I ordered. I am in Canada, ordered a F250 Lariat- price was around $80,000 before tax and x-plan gave me $6700 off of that.

I specifically asked my dealer if they needed mine when I was ordering and he said no just when it comes in. I guess different dealers just do different things.
