So can someone clarify something for me? This story was added to some maverick forums stating that ford was going to sell Maverick's without some of the chips. But the articles they linked just refered to ford selling some of it's vehicles with some of the chips missing, thus, be vague and not alluding to any specific model. The only story mention special models mentioned the explorers and explorers alone, and even then, the changes were pretty mild. So are mavericks going to be effected by this or not? The forums made it seem that way, but there was no evidence suggesting this would impact the maverick directly, unless I missed something.
I spoke with my dealer today and he said that dealers need to "opt" in to this program and they are hoping by doing so vehicles will come faster. They were not sure which features and / or models would be affected but hoped to know soon.

This is an interesting take.
I guess if you eventually get the featuers (I think I saw Ford is guaranteeing them within a year), its........ok......though I'm not thrilled at the idea of buying a brand new car and having half of it not working.
Do warranties then get extended by a year? Because you don't know if an issue will pop up because you haven't been using feature XYZ until a year after initial purchase, but now you have a year less warranty?
That's a great question! I would hope that as this is something that has never happened before that Ford could come up with some sort of warranty adjustment for those particular features....

The internet sure makes it seem that way-it also makes me wonder if that is part of the reason why its happening. The vast majority of the things on the internet that gain peoples attentions are things that are far right or left of center-when it comes to almost anything.
Just looking at news headlines that use shock value to make you click on them is a good example of this...people need to learn how to moderate the BS that is flung at our way, but also these same people don't want use any critical thinking skills to figure out what is the truth or BS.This is so true. It seems that the shock value is what is running things instead of common sense....

I would gladly just take the vehicle. If that gets me the vehicle faster. As long as the vehicle is safe and fully functional... even without the bells and whistles that I ordered especially if they say that it should be fixed within a year....
Actually, now I just read that it will be Explorers and Broncos? I would think that there would be more models that could be shipped to alleviate the problem and keep the factories busy....

I do find it interesting now that Ford has a disclaimer on their website:
It looks like it's definitely not going to get any better soon....

I purchased and Escape SEL Hybrid in January. First was told 12-14 weeks. Now was told yesterday by the dealership could be up to 8 months before we see it. I have no idea when it could be scheduled...
