  1. I have been tracking my truck build pretty extensively the past 2 weeks and am a little mind blown on how quickly it has been moving since production started.

I placed an order on 02/03/2022 for an F350 Lariat with black appearance, adaptive steering and cruise, 5WP and almost every other option possible. Given I had chosen every low commodity option the dealer said expect 6-8 months.

    02/04 - Confirmation email

06/16 - Received email that production would start 07/25

    06/28 - Production date bump to 08/08

    07/19 - Production date bump to 08/15

08/10 - Window sticker was available

08/17 - Ford pass app shows the activate button

08/18 - Truck shows built 08/18 in ford tracker

08/19 - Truck changes to shipped status in ford tracker

08/20 - Receive email that truck has shipped with estimated 09/10 - 09/16 delivery date

Given the spray in bed liner and 5WP I was expecting some lag time between built and shipped since the trucks have these installed offsite. I’m a little leery on believing this is accurate, but at the same time I wouldn’t expect a shipped email if everything wasn’t done yet. Has anyone else experienced this? If so did your truck arrive within the timeframe ford gave? Just trying to get an idea on how soon I should list my current truck for sale.

  2. Not sure if you have been on ford-trucks forum as well but there’s a ton of good info in this thread:

    https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1673039-online-building-retail-ordering-ford-scheduling-and-production-delivery-tracking-and-window-sticker.html

if you scroll down a ways there’s a window sticker decoding section. Although like akirby said none of comes with much use to the consumer and won’t help speed the process up.

My truck also recently went into production and the window sticker became available next week and I’m from Utah, maybe our trucks will be shipping together (hopefully sooner than later haha)

  3. Finally got notified production will start 07/25. I ordered 02/03. Lariat F350, Lariat Ultimate, Tremor, BAP, 5WP, Adaptive Steering & Cruise, Bed liner, Sun roof, Ultimate Tow, power running boards. With pretty much every commodity constraint possible I was losing faith that my truck would ever get built, but here we are.

I’ve had an order in since last July for a Lariat SD and I finally had to drop the fifth wheel prep and BAP a couple of months ago in order to get scheduled. It’s a bummer since I wanted both, but I want the truck more. See if you can drop some things to get it moving. I traded my truck in last year so it’s been a painful wait not having a truck.

Ouch! Yeah I still have my current truck that I don't hate (14 Ram 3500), just wanted to upgrade but if I am upgrading I'm not going to settle at all. If it never comes it then I wasn't met to swap to a Ford hahaha

  5. If you are towing relatively heavy I would advise not to use a reducer sleeve. I used one on my Ram when I had a bumper pull toy hauler that weighed around 11K lbs and it had enough play in it to start to cause some wear on the receiver. Maybe these SD's come with sleeves that fit nicely but I didn't have the best of luck.

  6. Airbags for sure make a big difference when towing but they will also make it ride worse when unloaded. I put Airlift airbags in two of my trucks along with a wireless compressor, it's not too difficult. If you do end up doing it I would recommend getting air bag cradles, this will prevent stiffening up the ride when unloaded.

Are all the dealers in your area requiring a deposit. When asking around about half of the ones near me did and the other half did not. I went with one that did not.

I'm not sure, I bought my wife's Explorer ST from this dealer and had a reasonably decent experience so I just decided to go there again. But every person I've talked to thus far gives me different information. The original sales guy told me I couldn't make any changes to my order at all once it was submitted even if I wanted to remove low commodity items which I knew wasn't right.

So, stop wasting your time with the sales representative and talk directly to the sales managers. Ask him how many unscheduled retail orders are ahead of you, what your priority code is, etc. If not done previously, make sure that your e-mail is attached in the WBDO (Web Based Dealer Ordering) system and that your order information, signed Buyer's Order and Driver's License was uploaded to the COVP (Customer Order Verification Program) so that your order qualifies for incremental allocation and priority scheduling. Make the Dealer do their job!

Good point, I'll try asking for a sales manager. And yes I did get the order submission email and they did upload my DL.

  9. I ordered a 2022 Lariat F350 on 02/03/22 with all the low commodity options. I called the dealership the other day to see if they could give me an update on current priority code and where I fall in their queue. Salesman was worthless and said they didn't have access to that info which I know is BS. Long story short he said he if I don't remove the low commodity options from my order than I won't be getting it. Spending as much as I am on this truck I'm not willing to compromise with options so I guess we shall see. Just annoyed that they get to hold on to my $2500 deposit for 6-8 months until the order gets cancelled. And I know there's a lot of you out there that have been waiting much longer that may not get a truck either, bummer!

Good to know they’re  building so King Ranches. Order Lariat in August. Dropped Bed liner and AS in December and changed to KR. Going on 7 months now and still no VIN

Ouch. I just ordered a Lariat with all the low commodity options and I’m starting to lose faith that I’ll ever see the truck. The dealer told me 7-8 months, I’m fine with waiting but worried it won’t get done before 23MY production starts and who knows what’ll happen at that point.

If you want to know what's available, all you have to do is read the 2022 Super Duty Order Guide which is available for download in the Dealer Order Guides section. The order guide is the definitive reference for the available vehicle specifications.

Yes I have the order guide just got curious on why these options are hidden when this is typically going to be a retail customer’s first entry point. I know the site for ordering at the dealer is hitting a different endpoint, but at least for myself, I built out a truck online countless times for months before I actually pulled the trigger. Seems odd to hide these options to the only customers that they are allowing to order trucks with them included.
