    Nice.

What is the object on the dash left of the display (circled in yellow)?

I see it on some 2022 Expeditions of various models, but not all.

Looks like Cadillac is targeting a similar customer base with Escalade V as that for Mercedes-Benz AMG G-Class. AMG G63 starts at $157,500.

Yeah but standard Sport versions are bringing a $15-25k premium over sticker price, this will certainly be a limited model. We very well could see our first $200k Escalade.

  3. So how does a dealer stock order (supposedly priority 20-80) receive consideration to schedule ahead of all of these pending customer orders? This is the exact trim and option package that I ordered but getting shipped to California instead, Ford's site even says "Dealer Ordered". To get it sooner than my still unscheduled order I'd have to pay $5000-$10000 over sticker. Ford really is pandering to the dealer network vs the consumer.

  5. Quite a few of MY22 order banks have already closed or closing very soon. Check the top of each model forum in the next section and it should show 2022 and 2023 order bank information. Expeditions were planned to close mid June with production stopping mid September. Updated to close orders April 29th instead due to backlog of orders.

Is there a better way to search inventory for these vehicles than the Ford "Search Inventory" webpage?

In order to thoroughly search the Midwest I've resorted to Googling zip codes and trying to find anything within 100 miles of the larger cities, but this is ridiculously inefficient. Dealers won't help me (and I don't blame them) because they'll never get a dealer trade with things as messed up as they are right now.

I've found one vehicle (unicorn?) that nearly ticked all the boxes, but it's got that mysterious mahogany interior that you can barely find real life pics of and I don't think will age well... To complicate matters further, that vehicle no longer shows up when I do an inventory search, even though I know it's headed to a dealer and has not been spoken for (sales guy is offering it to me at MSRP plus Ziebart protection, theft protection, and various other dealer addons totaling nearly $2k).

    Thanks for reading and responding!

set all of your normal search criteria like normal but set your 'Radius=100' section to 'Radius=500'. This will open up your distance a lot more, then you only need to search 6-7 major city zip codes to cover the whole US. GM lets you search 2000 miles which from the center of the US covers pretty much every dealer possible. When changing zip codes do it in the search bar address and it will keep all of your other filters intact.

So, brand new  vehicle, I could probably get away with none of the usual prep and apply myself it sounds like.

I had it done on my brand new Kia Stinger GT2, while it might not require a full service paint correction with cutting/polishing it still needed a minor one to take out little imperfections found during the shipping and initial wash the dealer did. I had Ceramic Pro applied with their Gold Package, it carries a claimed "Lifetime Warranty" but is expected to last 5-7 years. I already don't use automatic car washes and it is mostly garage kept so it was a easy investment decision on my part. I paid $1200 which included the paint correction, coating, and taxes/fees. Maintaining the warranty is a yearly visit to their shop for inspection and full detail ($120), paint is still pristine and water beads off like a freshly waxed car.

the DIY options won't give you the results and as bbf said it could be more damaging. Wife's used BMW had a diy job done and they left the coating on too long prior to wiping it off in spots. when washed it left a rainbow sheen across the black car. Only fix was a very serious cut/polish to restore the factory finish. We just had her car ppf wrapped with DYNOmatte which was pretty pricy but cheaper than buying new already matte painted.

Sounds so silly to be standing by waiting to see when I get to to celebrate moving to “Scheduled for Production” status.

Order confirmed for a Star-white  Expy Limited Max with The Stealth Performance Package on January 21, 2022.

Feels like it time to start adding the year I ordered too in case my delivery roles into 2023.

I''m two weeks behind you on order date, SPP Black. Really hoping we all hear of scheduling this week for June, of not it pushes another month.

Right, I don’t even trust adaptive cruise while towing let alone the thing driving itself.

Saw a GM ad the other day with the FSD hands off features in their trucks. One part showed it with a double axle travel trailer too.

Priority over what? If all retail orders are now COVP aren't we all back in one giant line again? Other than commodity restraints, what pushes orders ahead or behind in the queue? I understand the theory of how this program works, but the practice of it seems off. Is it just the ongoing supply/labor/WWIII problems are preventing the order/schedule/produce/deliver cycle from operating smoothly?

I’m not an expert but priority over dealer stock orders. In normal conditions retail orders and dealer inventory orders are intermixed, now the backlog on SD’s is high enough only retail customer trucks will be scheduled.

You should get the standard non multi contour seats, whatever those are.  If they are heated and cooled then you’ll get that.

I’d guess they are the standard limited/KR/Timberline style seats then just with the platinum color schemes?

    Worthless reply, but thanks!

John, to get tracking through blue oval forum you must have 15 posts first, it is also not requested on this thread but the Vehicle Locator by Ford Employees sub forum. Good news for you is you have a vin number so it is scheduled at a minimum but you won’t get a better response for now.

Depending on what features are unavailable, and for how long, will determine how upset I will be and the degree of compensation I will expect. I ordered a Platinum and expect the high tech standard features to be fully functional. If I didn’t want all the doo-dads, I would have ordered a lower trim level.

Don’t expect compensation in this current market. Say you order an f150 platinum and it has been sitting waiting for chips. Ford ships to your dealer but you refuse delivery since you want compensated for not having those features at delivery. Dealer in turn adds ADM and sells to the next guy who walks in the door telling him “in a couple months we will issue a ‘recall’ to bring it in and add the electronic modules to enable XYZ.

Based on various comments it seems the massage/multi adjustment seat controls are a big hold up, RES across multiple suppliers too. I think GM had shortages for one of their fuel efficiency systems even (either cylinder deactivation or the electric air flaps in the grill).

Last I heard we are resuming our normal schedule this coming week.

This is great, hopefully the plant can hit normal production levels and stay online for a bit. Latest expedition build to week emails I’ve heard are late April so far so I don’t expect scheduled to production notifications will occur for a few more weeks for those of us still waiting.

I prefer ceramic coating instead of wax. Its not cheap though, but at least in my case it lasts longer than wax.

Agreed, the depth my Ceramic Pro coating has added to my paint is jaw dropping. Car washes are super simple too with most dirt rinsing off quickly.

Has anyone been made aware of updated timing on the availability of the rear entertainment system?

They won’t commit to anything but RES issues are a problem with many of the automakers. GM told me it would be 4-6 months before they expect their RES option to be released for production, other shortages and long lead times led us to exploring the ford family instead. For the cost and delay of the RES you could get a couple of iPads and some headphones. With the connected WiFi you get more flexibility even.

Note that in order to use X-plan pricing you must have been a member of whatever organization for 90 days prior to taking delivery of your vehicle. Kind of cheesy but it is what it is.

    https://www.fordpartner.com/partnerweb/jsp/howitworks/fordpartner_rules.htm

Also, the first dealer that I spoke to said no to X-plan pricing and I assumed this was probably the case all around. On whim a couple of days later, I did a quick Google search and found multiple other Lincoln and Ford dealers advertising on their website that they would be happy to order you a Lincoln and you would be free to use X-plan pricing when it came in. Same thing with a deposit.

There is no reason for any dealer to ask for a deposit on a vehicle that is hard to get and easy to sell. All Lincoln is requiring is a signed order sheet and a copy of your driver's license. The advantage for the dealer is that the order is labeled sold so it goes to the front of the production queue. If you bow out when the vehicle arrives, no problem, they now have a vehicle that arrived much sooner than if they had ordered it for their inventory and now they can readily sell it to someone else, (likely for higher if they aren't using x-plan pricing.)

The second dealer I reached out to about x-plan pricing said they would do x-plan pricing but that they wanted $1,500 deposit. No thanks. Actually found my preferred dealer closest to me was readily willing to work with me with a simple email inquiry. My order was promptly submitted to Lincoln and I received an email confirming acceptance of the order a little over an hour later.

Good news is if you join the same day you order you probably won’t take delivery before  the 90 day period anyway. This no scheduling for 5 weeks is brutal.

Did not seem like a ton. I was thinking a couple hundred to a thousand shipped.

Does not seem like a single customer order has shipped either

Agreed that it wasn’t all of them but I bet they moved 5-10 truckloads. Not every customer order is on these forums, and I’d guess the dealer inventory is more or less their quality check builds anyway. Saw this when the gladiator came out and dealers were getting lot inventory before the launch editions hit consumer hands.
