Curious if anyone has noticed an impact to the quality of your new truck ? Has the impact of pressure on 3rd party vendors rushing to supply parts/products for Ford along with Ford attempting to push units out with supply chain and labor issues caused a noticeable degradation of quality? This is my fear yet all the while I am with the mob bitching because I want my truck.

I don’t have my truck but I have personally witness blatantly obvious issues with very simple things such as seat covers, incomplete paint at Jambs etc.

What happened to quality is Job 1 or is it still as I understand with any mass production that things slip through?

I have had one of these and unfortunately I have to get another at no fault of Ford's, honestly I am still here today because how safe these things are.  Check out my post for details.

The only two complaints I had was the orange peel and the wireless charger.  I have bought several trucks through the years and they have all had the same issue with orange peel.  Not a huge deal but it is a 90K pickup.  i expect a bit more in the quality range of something that expensive.  Fixable mind you just annoying it has to be fixed.  The wireless charger will not charge if you have it connected to your truck and using all the options including GPS.  This causes too much heat when you add the charging into it and it shuts down the charger.  I have tried this on several different phones mostly Apple and Samsung.  Latest gens.

So one issue that is controlled by Ford and the other is a supplier/design issue.  My two cents.

PRIORITY CODE, ORDER SCHEDULING & VEHICLE VISIBILITY SUMMARY

Priority codes determine the order in which unscheduled orders should be reviewed and considered for scheduling. The original order date is also a consideration but is often overlooked due to applicable commodity restraints, plant constraints and other factors. Orders must meet the applicable commodity and plant constraints in order to be scheduled in the week that scheduling is done for the vehicle line.

Retail order priority codes are 10-19 but the default priority code in the WBDO (Web Based Dealer Ordering) system is 19 requiring Dealers to manually assign a lower priority code with 10 being the best. Each Dealer's USOB (Unscheduled Order Bank) is exclusive to that dealership and independent from any other dealership. Stock orders use priority codes 20-80. Priority code "99" means "Do NOT Schedule". Dealers can change priority codes at any time for unscheduled orders.

At the time a retail order is placed via the WBDO (Web Based Dealer Ordering) system, the customer's e-mail address should be attached to the order. In addition, the Dealer should submit the order information, signed Buyer's Order and customer's Driver's License to the COVP (Customer Order Verification Program) or applicable ROVP (Retail Order Verification Program). Verified COVP or ROVP retail orders qualify for incremental allocation and priority scheduling. COVP and ROVP orders can get scheduled at any time. Regular scheduling is normally done on Thursday mornings for weeks that a vehicle line has scheduling. Stock orders and retail orders without incremental allocation are scheduled using allocation that is determined on a monthly basis through the monthly wholesale allocation agreement between Ford and the dealership.

Priority codes 01 and 02 can only be assigned by the Ford regional office or Dearborn. Unscheduled orders with 01 or 02 priority codes receive the most consideration for scheduling.

Priority codes are included in the WBDO Preview order display showing the Dealership Name, Sales Code, Price Level Code, vehicle specifications, and pricing.

VIN numbers and the initial assigned production week are assigned at the time the order is scheduled. Once an order is scheduled, the Priority Code has no function.

This information does NOT apply to Fleet Orders which use a different Priority Code and scheduling process.

Dealers have 24/7 access to the Vehicle Visibility reporting system which includes the complete order history and all scheduling, production and shipping information up to the vehicle delivery to the dealership. The default report display is for the current order status. The report will also include the rail carrier and rail car information for vehicles shipped initially by rail. The report is updated continuously and includes every status update, including the vehicle location for vehicles in transit. The Vehicle Visibility report now includes additional information for shipping delays caused by various factors.

Thanks for the Detail on this.  I kind of recognize the output style of this.  Looks a lot like the sales center side of SAP.

Glad everyone walked away from that! Sucks we’re in this market. I bet any other time they’d rush an order for you.

I still have hope that we are picking up production as well as maybe just maybe get bumped up to a higher priority in a few weeks.

  4. Sales Code : F53031

    Order Code : K77D

    Order Date: 3/21/2022

    2022 F350 Platinum Tremor

    6.7L

    Antimatter Blue

    Crew Cab SRW

Thanks for what you do.  I really apricate the info especially having to go through this for a second time in a year....

If possible can you tell me what the Priority code is as well?  I have been trying to get it bumped up after losing my last truck I got in January.

  5. Fingers crossed for you.  Hope it moves way faster then mine did.  With this shortage of drivers and all the other industries backed up with supply issues it is really tough right now.  I know I have been pushing for expedited freight for a lot of my stuff at work and it just keeps getting more and more expensive.  This cant keep going for too long or we will be in a world of hurt.

Mine is in Salt Lake city waiting on a truck to transport it to Boise ID. Such a short distance left. But still no promise date of arrival. The hardest part of the wait. It's just so close!

That is a hard one.  When it is built and just waiting on shipping.  I had to wait from early December to January 14th to get this one.  Sat in Kansas City for 5 to 6 weeks.....

What we’re they driving?  Can’t imagine the impact to crush the front end on one of these trucks?  Even more amazed they walked away.

Yea, it looks like he t-boned a brick wall. Talk about built ford tough. I've been in a few accidents, but never had a wreck this bad. It seems very fortunate that everyone involved walked away.

It was an older F250.  Hit it pretty hard for sure.  This is by far my worst.  Hell I have not been in a accident in over 20 years.  way to make up for all that time.  LOL

That is one nice looking truck.  I love the all blacked out.  I got the platinum with tremor so I will have to get rid of some chrome when it comes in.

I am a glock 17 fan.  enjoy both.

My truck has been at the rail yard for over 10 days now. The status comes back as Delay-Rail Carrier. Could they have damaged it and its waiting to get fixed. Or am I just being paranoid.

I waited almost 6 weeks from the time mine hit the rail yard to my dealer.

Now I have to do it all over again.  Some kid blew a stop sign and totaled mine out.  luckily got my order in before they shut it all down however it took me 7 and a half months to get the first one.  I don't have much hope on getting mine any time this summer.

I really hope for all those people have been waiting for a long time that things start to pick up.  Being in the same type of business we are seeing improvements however it is very limited but consistent, unlike the last 18 months.

Man these things are built well.  Safety wise I am glad I was in this thing otherwise I and my wife may not be here today.

Ouch, sorry to hear about the truck. If the other guy had insurance then I would definitely be on them for a rental until your new truck gets built. I can't believe I am going to say this but sometimes lawyering up early in the game can have benefits you may not otherwise get. Hell, you may not even need a lawyer if they have a decent claims adjuster working your case.

    bob

I have pushed for that and no go so far however I do have a lawyer and we are trying to get stuff taken care of.  Just sucks you have to do that to get what is deserved and paid for.

If he actually checked with the zone rep and they said no then you’re probably stuck.  Although you could try tweeting a pic and tagging Mike Levine saying something like can’t believe I’m going to have to wait another 8 months.  After praising how well built it was.

They are still trying however you know how it is.  There are a lot of people waiting and wanting to get theirs moved up as well.  If I had twitter I would go that route for sure.

At least they tried. I think everyone on here can agree that at the least a priority 2. I ordered mine May 21st and it should arrive any day now. So if that was to happen to me I would hope Ford would have a little forgiveness and up the priority some so I'm not waiting another year for a pickup. I went all of last year without a pickup. Borrowed a 06 single cab long bed F150 2wd with a v6 motor with ZERO options and manual EVERYTHING even windows and locks. Coming from a 05 2500 duramax 4x4. I couldn't tow anything and got nothing done.

Fingers crossed.  I here you there.  I have had to borrow trucks for the last year as well.  I have access however it sucks to ask.  Just aggravating.  I hope yours gets built soon.  What is holding yours up?  Adaptive steering?

I was going to say glad everyone is ok. How about that tonneau cover? Lol

And like akirby said. Check with your dealer. Hopefully they will make a order and priority 1 for you due to what happened. I would only hope it would be a possibility for me if something like that happened to me.

Just heard back on getting this pulled up to a higher priority then a 10 and it is a no go.  Wish I had a contact to reach out to.  My dealer is good, really good and got me taken care of on the last one.  Just cant get the support on this one.

I rolled my 2010 F250 back in January (ice patch, 4x4 H but no traction control or ABS). Stuck the landing on all 4. All I got was 2 small glass cuts on my hands despite landing on the corner of the roof just over my head. Absolute tank of a truck. Got my order in 3 days later for a F350, its in production now.

Glad to hear you are ok on this.  These things are tough.

I can’t imagine what the other vehicle must look like.

I wish I could share the picture but it was 01 F250.  Not much left of that one as well.  Funny thing is both trucks were still running after the incident.  Hell I could have drove it out of the ditch...

Heavy duty ranch hand or some other is my plan. Probably wouldn’t have helped the situation with the truck in this case but for other lesser encounters it is useful.

I here you there.  Not something i usually have to worry about around here.  I was glad it was totaled after seeing the damage.  Not sure I would want it back after something that bad.

Yeah, great the insurance will take care of the money side but now you're out a truck indefinitely.  Is the insurance going to cover a rental for that period and can you even find suitable rental?

I wish, no that is on me and I don't have another truck to get me through.

I can't imagine having to wait that long only for someone's else's stupidity to take it all away. In the end it's replaceable and a life isn't, so always have to try and see the silver lining. Next one will be bigger and better.

I agree, I ordered the same thing but prices have gone up a bit.  Not a huge deal but not good either.  I am more determined then before to get this truck exactly the way I want it.  May take some time.

I kept the Tonneau cover for the next one.  My deal has requested to move it up to a higher priority then the 10 I am at now and we have not heard anything back as of yet.  Fingers crossed we can get it moved up.

  17. Insurance is taken care of and I have a new one on order.  It took 7 months to get this one and who knows how long it will take to get another one.  Hopefully not another 7 months.  Luckily I got my order in a few weeks ago before they closed the order bank down.

So are those running boards for sale then? All kidding aside, that has to be a sickening feeling. Glad all are ok or would be a much worse feeling.

It has not been easy for sure.  The truck is no longer mine and is up for auction soon.  They don't waste any time...  The salvage yard bent the crap out of one side and actually ripped on of them off.

  19. New to the fourm, we'll kinda.  I have been on here looking around and watching scheduling since production started and I entered my order last June or so.  Finally got my truck in late January and on March 18th some kids ran a stop sign on a highway and no way I could stop.  Good thing is there were no serious injuries....  This thing is built tough.  Be careful out there.
