The ride quality is actually great, and I was concerned about this as I had driven some older ones and they were pretty harsh. I never once had driver fatigue and could easily drive on for hours. It got very interesting when I got to Portland. After 6 hours of sitting in the same 500' spot on i5, I convinced some big rigs to split apart and ended up scooting between semi's/cars on the freeway, going over a median with 8"+ of wet snow. I have to move barricade's, drove over downed trees and garbage can lids wiggling my way through downtown Portland to essentially bypass the i5. I ended up on, with a group of trucks following me, on I suppose a spur road where I could see i5. Once i5 was clear I hopped back on and 75MPH the rest of the way home. Ended up, at 22 hours straight in the seat. Was tired, but never felt I didn't have enough truck. It was a scene out of the walking dead with dozens and dozens of folks that had abandoned their cars from either being wrecked or ran out of electricity/gas and started walking. I offered to help a few but most seemed to know where they were going. Crazy! Some pics in the first few minutes.
No pulling in groves UNLESS they were super bad in which I'd scoot over a lane. This happen in one spot I can think of pulling up out of a canyon in California. My tires are the traction M/S traction tires. They are pretty meaty. Now for mileage. At 75 I would get 16-17mpg, but if I slowed it down to 65mph I can pull almost 20 on the freeway. So speed matters. At 65MPH, it's pulling 1900 RPM. Truck also has an ECO mode I tested and honest I didn't see a huge change other than it flattened throttle response. One interesting thing is I ordered my truck with the adaptive cruise and when you are going down the freeway, if you turn on the turn signal the engine immediately changes tone and comes to life, turn the blinker off and it stops. It's like the truck knows you MAY be about to pass a car. Turning radius is just CRAZY compared to my last few Super duties. THAT is about my favorite part. The sound system in this thing is badass for a factory system.

Some things I don't like? Tailgate release is a button. I want a lever, period. I like the power release, but still want a handle to pull. Next would be the bed camera. Why the hell can't I engage the bed camera when moving. Seriously, what's the point as if I'm sitting still, I'll go have a look myself. This is dumb but I'm sure it's to protect the world from idiots. Lastly headlights. It is offensive to be that on a $85K truck that it is even possible to have shitty terrible headlights. I mean BAD. So for any who read this. ORDER THE UPGRADED HEADLIGHTS period. Forget what it costs, do not screw yourself out of visibility. And yes, I can squint 20/20 so I have great eyeballs. Ford shoulf be ashamed and honestly, I should have known better.

I started reading this post and was like, "yeah; yup..." and then it just kept getting better and better. Awesome story and great work!

Two things- my MY22's SD's bed camera works while driving (but front camera only ever gives me a blue screen?) and I'm with you on the tailgate. I've got the lever and not looking forward to my My23 not having that.

Our MY22 order was never built and it turned over to a MY23 order.  We've been looking for something in stock and not over MSRP.  Well I found a new 2022 F-250 CCSB Lariat Tremor, Atlas Blue, 6.7L below MSRP at Granger. Flew out Friday night with the Mrs. and drove back 1,500 miles this weekend. I still have a the MY23 on order and will eventually have to make a decision.

Very nice! Green window sticker, I presume?

Anything is possible at this point. I do know as of 3/28 it was completed from an extended production delay. Confirmed by a generous plant employee that it was clean, needed nothing, all concerns closed, even sent me a screenshot of said report.  Was released to shipper 3/29. Missed it's first scheduled delivery of 4/14. No idea where it was from 4/14-9/22 until it was moved to ramp 1k where it still continues to sit..as far as I know, continually missing scheduled delivery dates. Latest dates we THOUGHT was the end of the wild ride was 11/24-11/30. Nope! Went to 12/4-12/10. Nope! Now 12/11-12/17. Never notified of the new dates. Only found out by accident today. Ford and it's contracted shipper have major issues that need immediate attention and improvement! It doesn't take 9 months to ship a completed vehicle when dealers are getting stock units daily. If...IF I take delivery of this Phantom truck, I will demand a discount on top the good deal I already got. A model yr old and 9 months old since birth is worth the 20% depreciation in value if you ask me. It's depreciated and hasn't even been delivered yet! Typically it's a 20% hit as soon as you leave the lot. I think that's more than fair in this case.

I mean... You can ask but they'll happily let you walk. Even if they sell at current MSRP (they won't) to someone else, they'll make more on it than selling to you. They'll hope it never shows up, you get a PCO and order a new version through them at a higher profit.

IF your truck actually ever arrives, have you checked the math to see what the delta in MSRP is? Based on that alone, you could buy it for the original agreed-upon price and flip it for a profit, then order another from Chapman/Granger or do X-plan somewhere with CPO and get to your extra discount that way with some FordPass points to boot.

You've gotten screwed; no doubt about it. I don't think you can expect the dealer to help you out, however.

FWIW, I've got mine ordered February, built October and pushed three times with no end in sight. I don't expect to see it ever and have already ordered my MY23 with X-plan and CPO locked in.  Not nearly as messed up as your scenario, but I feel it.

Agreed. There are only two ways to clear a logjam. More output or less input. Either they find more outbound shipping capacity or they throttle back production to sort this out. I think we all know the second option isn’t happening. Until the first one gets there, we won’t see a meaningful change.

Stick an RFID tag on each truck tied to the VIN so that you can locate each one easily. Then employ a helicopter to hoist that sucker out of its blocked-in position. Boom... Done.

I did not receive an email from Ford either stating they would need more time to ship! I called assistant manager at dealership and he ran a vvr and told me the date had been pushed to December.

I got my email just now; 5 days after the latest stated arrival date. At least I got the email so I wouldn't have been perpetually in the dark.

A number of months ago, I posted my story. A quick recap: we ordered our F250, Lariat ultimate, BAP, Tremor, with the 7.3 L engine, in June, 2021. The truck was delivered to our dealership in April of 2022, but they sold it out from under us. By the time we realized what had happened, the order banks were closed. The dealer tried to find us a similarly equipped vehicle at another dealer, with no luck.

Almost 2 months later, they called me. A customer with a super duty on order had contacted them and wanted to cancel because of an illness. Ford allowed them to keep the order spot, but change the feature set to the features we'd originally ordered.

Well, it arrived at the end of October! They had to do a few things at the dealership, and interestingly, it has black plastic covers where the badges will be (in front of the doors)--but we LOVE the truck.

Pricing was a bit of an issue. The truck MSRP was about $8,000 more than our original order. The dealership agreed to match my initial price and give me an extended warranty. This took a bit of work, though. They were reluctant to lose so much money; after reminding them about how much I imagine they made off of my original truck, they softened up...

In any case, we LOVE the truck. It's a dream. Our first Super Duty--first truck, in fact. So glad we stuck it out.

I was informed by e-mail on 10/11, that my updated delivery window was 11/14-11/20.  Obviously that has passed, but I've received no update.

Mine got pushed a third time. Was supposed to be by 11/17 the second time, but my dealer told me now it's 12/16. No email from Ford and the window sticker no longer loads from the tracker. Ordered my F250 XL crew/8' bed on 2/28.

I may end up getting my '23 KR before this finds its way home.

BUT, if the XL pushes until January, that resets my xplan clock, so there's that.

I'm sure I'll mess with the build and price utility when its available to see the price and configurations.  If Ford makes the Lariat Ultimate package available with the HO 6.7 in a super cab I'd consider getting a 23 if the trade in value was acceptable on my 22.

You'll make money on the trade. I ordered 2 MY22 250s. I ordered an XL early February and a loaded Lariat at the end of February. Both crew cab, 8' bed and 'zilla. Got the Lariat in June and traded it 3 weeks later (long story) for a profit.

I'm waiting for my XL still (in production since mid-September) and will probably drive that until my MY23 is built. Order early and by the time you have it, you'll get the plan discount plus any profit due to a raise in MSRP during your wait.

    Hello all and Happy Thursday,

After over 13 months since order date - 16 June 2021 - finally got coveted Ford scheduled email this morning…2022 F250 Platinum Tremor with 7.3l, AS, 5thWP, dropped bedliner and tonneau cover.  Scheduled for week of 15 August.

Believe this only happened after reaching out to Ford Corporate via emails as suggested by someone on the Tremor SD forum…got assigned a Ford Liason a few days later.  The Liason worked with KTP Scheduling, and said if I dropped hard folding tonneau, they would move me from Priority 2 to Priority 1.  We did that a little over 3 weeks ago, and finally got picked up the third Thursday after becoming a Priority 1.

Very happy to finally get movement after being a Priority 2 for six months and unscheduled for over a year.

I got my notification this morning as well for the same week. 250 XL with the 7.3. I didn't reach out to Ford at all. Makes me think it has more to do with Ford getting around to the 250s/7.3s as opposed to anything anyone did.

Or maybe your reaching out led to mine finally hitting? Who knows.

Will Do.  I suspect it's not going to be as good as I thought when I ordered, but we'll see where it ends up.  I'm likely not including a trade in the deal.  They have been pretty adamant in their emails to me about not participating in Price protection.

Now that's interesting... My MY22 with X plan and CPO may have been a better deal then since the MSRP went up after I ordered and I was price protected.

I guess they can't do 3% below invoice AND price protect or they'd end up at like 4% or 5% below invoice when it's all said and done.

    Good luck!

Got my Built email this morning!

Supposed to arrive at Chapman in Horsham between 7/20 and 7/26.?

If those delivery dates hold true, that will be 5.5 months from order date of 2/10/22.  That's really not too bad all things considered.

Can you let me know what the final pricing looks like with 3% below invoice? Want to see if it's legitimately better than x plan when I order my MY23 in October.

Not only did my dealer honor the price (both out the door and trade in) that was agreed on (eight months prior) when we made the deal, they found a personal discount code, $3000, that I did not know about and Ford did not send me an email for. Also did not have any deletions. Recieved a 2022 F450, fully loaded with massaging seats, adaptive cruise etc. Was extremely lucky, someone looking out for me. Can not say enough good about the dealer, Groves Ford, Cape Girardeau,  Missouri.

How it should be! Crouse in Taneytown, MD played no games with me either and helped navigate all applicable discounts, including CPO, xplan, student discount, etc.

Imagine if all dealers did the right thing.

Did they price protect you on the spot? Im being told that Ford will send me a check for the difference after the purchase paperwork is filed with Ford.

Wait... What? Price protection means you pay what you intended to pay when you ordered. Don't give the dealer more money because MSRP went up, hoping them to cut you a check for the delta. That sounds shady. If you're protected, make sure you bring the original order/pricing with you and pay that. I see no tangible reason for a dealer to charge you more only to give you some back. They'd lose money on that after factoring in labor for accounting...

Carmax/KBB offer wasn't terrible, so i could go that route if needed.  I have another dealer nearby that wants to look at it too, so I have options.  My current truck is in very good shape.  Interior looks brand new.  Paint is probably an 8/10, new brakes probably 30-40k left in the tires 6.7L with 108,000 miles on it. Hate to lose the tax break on the trade, but we'll see how the numbers go.

I've never dealt with Chapman before, but they've been responsive to all my inquiries so far with screen shots from the VVR etc....

Let us know how this goes. I took delivery of my 250/7.3 two weeks ago and am looking to place an order with Chapman in October for a MY23. I also anticipate getting a better price from Carmax than Chapman on my MY22, even when factoring in the tax savings.

Trade-in, according to KBB is about $70K so I'd be sitting pretty based on my buy price of $60k.

With dealers charging sticker for the trucks, are they making a nice profit?  Normally no one would pay sticker.  Or is sticker normal for special orders?  Just curious with these strange times.

Related: How would the Graingers and Chapmans of the world make money selling 3% below invoice?

My sales manager told me 2023 Super Duty order bank will not open until October, I know that is probably not official yet but has anyone else heard those rumblings?  I suspect Oct. is probably fairly accurate since a ton of 2022 Super Duty orders have still not been scheduled.

I posted earlier here or FTE that 23MY SD banks would open in October based on a spreadsheet that was posted on the Bronco Sport forum. Then ice-capades shot me down.

I trust him more but still wouldn't be surprised if it turned out to be accurate.

I've been a follower of this thread passively for quite a while--thank you all for posting information. It's been very useful.

I placed on order of a 2022 Super Duty--Lariat, Tremor, black appearance, various other features--on June 10, 2021. We've waited, obviously, quite a long time. On 4/20/2022 we received the "Shipped" notification from Ford, indicating that the truck should arrive at our dealer between 5/2-5/8. On 5/5, the salesperson called me and said that the truck should arrive soon--likely within the "next few weeks" and he'd keep us informed. I went in today because there was still no news.

Turns out the truck arrived on 4/27, and they sold it to someone else on the same day!

Has anyone else had this happen to them? I'm really stunned--and to be fair, the folks at the dealership are stumped; nobody knows how this happened.

Holy crap, you got screwed. They made out like a bandit with that ADM as well. I've had dealers call me asking if I want to buy a vehicle with a green window sticker. After asking questions, once I found out they added ADM to the custom order (leading the ordering customer to angrily walk out) I said "no way."

I can't imagine the dealership selling it under your nose. Both scenarios are inexcusable but yours is somehow worse.

...who was the dealer? I feel like we deserve to know.

The Vehicle Order Tracking page has stopped working for me.  First the "Build Date/VIN" e-mail links quit working.  Now the VOT loops.  If I put it bad info it tells me.  If I put in correct info, it goes back to the page with the boxes blank.  Is anyone else having this problem?

Constantly. Clear cookies/cache, etc. and try again.

Oh mine has gone as far as it's going to go by rail. It's sitting in a lot awaiting a car hauler to bring it to the dealership. That's where things have gone silent.

Got it. Same here. Labor shortage and black hole of information. I guess it'll get there when they find someone to take it.

What does the "cleared for movement" mean and how do you find that information out?. Mine is at the destination rail facility and I'm assuming waiting for transport to the dealership in Charlotte NC.

Because I'm a geek, I downloaded the Union Pacific internal guidelines and found that it means the load has been inspected, secured and ready to roll out.

There are lots of threads here, but call Union Pacific (1-800-877-5123) and use their automated system to "trace" your railcar (dealer will provide).

  21. 32 minutes ago, crashman-405 said:

Man this hurry up and wait while my truck sits at a rail yard is killing me. Up until now I had some idea of the progress of what was going on with the truck. Now nothing. What are the average wait times that vehicles sit at the yard before being delivered to the dealership for those of you guys that have taken delivery?

My truck was supposed to arrive at the yard in Joppa, MD yesterday but I've got no update. It shipped 5/22.

My Bronco Sport left Mexico for the yard in AZ 4/21, arrived at the yard in IL 4/29 and sat there until 5/19 when it became "cleared for movement" and then finally ended up at my dealership yesterday after sitting in DE waiting for a courier to become available.

Two different vehicles taking two different routes, but give it a couple of weeks.

I had my window sticker load yesterday. 250 platinum ordered 21-11-26. There is nothing on the window sticker about the multi contour seats. I was under the impression if the seats were deleted there would be mention on the WS regarding the delete. I also thought if they were not deleted then there would be something that says they are included. Did anyone else have this on their WS?

Check out your build on the tracker. It's the drop downs at the bottom. You'll either see the seats represented or you'll see "Multi Contour Seat Delete." That should give you what you're looking for.
