  1. Exactly; the work passwords need to be changed every 90 days.

I can get logged in on everything except "Discount Market Place".Does anybody have a contact # to report this.I tried to call 1-888-317-4957 and it sounds like that number is for active Ford employees and Ford computers only? Thanks in advance.

  2. might as well buy a american made toyota! Fuck that Mexico made mother.....

American made Toyota - American jobs+ ,but the majority of profit goes back to Japan

Mexican made Ford - should have been built in the US , but the majority of profit goes back to Dearborn,US.

    What about that thought?

Thanks for the info.. Unfortunately, my husband retired due to medical reasons with 27 yrs of service which would exclude me anyway.

Moon0917,good news, looks like surviving spouses will receive a "retiree lump-sum bonus. Please read this to find out if you qualify:

    RETIREE LUMP-SUM BONUS:

UAW retirees and surviving spouses whose benefit started before Oct. 1, 2007 will receive a lump-sum payment to be paid the week of December 22, 2009. The payment will be $23.33 times the years of credited service, with a minimum of $233.33 and a maximum of $700. Surviving spouses will receive 65% of the retiree’s amount. This payment will also be made in December of 2010. Examples are as follows: With 10 years of credited service a retiree will receive $233.33 and a surviving spouse will receive $151.67. With 20 years of service a retiree will receive $466.67 and a surviving spouse will receive $303.33. With thirty years of service a retiree will receive $700.00 and a surviving spouse will receive $455.00.

  4. I'm a surviving spouse and was eligible for this bonus.. After reading this forum, I contacted the retirement board and was told that EVERYONE lost it, including retiree's :-(

In a recent newsletter, the president of local UAW 862 stated that all retirees, with at least 30 yrs service, will recieve a $700.00 lump sum bonus payable on December 22, 2009.

  5. I would put on Goodyear Gatorback belt.It is a very quiet belt and of better overall quality than the stock belt.I had a similar problem with my 1998 F150 several years ago.Somedody on a Ford enthusiast website suggested I try a Goodyear Gatorback drive belt.I did and what a difference.I have Goodyear belts on all my vehicles.Good luck!

  6. Didn't the Wizard say the Louisville Assembly plant would close in 2009 ?He still may be correct. With no new vehicle and or a large investment to the upgrade plant,I see LAP closing.I wish the heck we knew for sure! It would help alot of people make a decision on whether to take a buy out.Looks like Ford is going to leave a lot of people hanging. What a let down,I thought they were going to tell us something!

  7. We picked up our 2007 4X2 Dark Cherry Limited ST Wed night.

It has the Moonroof, Sirius, 6 disc, V8, Class lll/lV tow package,(7100 lb tow capacity), Safety canopy, Graphite 2 tone leather heated seats, reverse sensing system, power rear window, bed extender, hard tonneau cover, power pedals, electronics package, dual zone A/C plus the std power locks, windows, CC etc.

It drives amazing, shifts flawlessly and feels like the handling is from a decent car, not a truck.

    Surprisingly quick too it appears.

X-Plan was just about $31,330 plus or minus $30 bucks...

$500 rebate from Ford Credit, 4.9% rate and we are loving it....

It is getting shitty mileage, (11.6 so far), as we knew it would and were told by my salesman, but hey it's only got 100 miles on it....No one buys a V8 truck expecting Focus mileage, that's why I have a Focus ST commuter car....

    4X2 ST is rated 15 city/21 highway with the V6, or the V8. 5 spd A/T with the V6, 6 spd A/T with the V8...

I will probably install a K&N drop in air filter and of course Mobil 1 before we run it up the East Coast to Boston in Oct. That should break it in right....

It came when my salesman said it would, (ordered near the end of July as a Job 2 vehicle), and there was no problems or surprises during the delivery process, everything was as we were told from day 1 of the ordering process.

The most glaring omission from Quality is job whatever, is that the Rt/S and tailgate V8 emblems were missing at delivery, they are on order. The left side is fine and attached to the truck.

My wife loves it, she also loves her 2002 GT Vert with all the mods, but the truck is pure comfort and very

luxurious for a tow/multipurpose functional vehicle.....again an amazing vehicle overall.

It got the nod over a very impressive, but just too big 2007 Avalanche....also a great truck.

The ST is just better sized for what we wanted.

We are on the Shelby GT list for Jan delivery or ??? I'm going with Black I think......

We saw an Orange Frost on the lot and it is striking, but not for us...too bright to look at everyday!!!!

I will be replacing my 2003 Z71 Suburban tow vehicle in Boston with a 2007 Suburban LTZ the 1st week of Oct when we get to the house in Boston.

My cousin has sold the 03 thru his Chevy dealership, and should have the new one by the 9th.

He is again selling me the new one at his dealer cost, (he owns the dealership), and is going to let me drive his 2007 Z06 in an attempt to get me to buy one at his cost, instead of the GT500 we ordered, (and may never get at this point it seems).

He had told me upper 50's low 60's was his actual final cost on 1, people here told me that was BS they cost more. I don't really know, but his personal car cost him 58K he told me...I will look and see what is on it when we are up there.

There is a couple in Autoweek for 67-70, so his cost number seems about right.

The local dealers here are asking 30K over on a GT500, which becomess $74-80K depending on Coupe or Vert.... so a Z06 for 60 or even 65 is a better deal at this point than a GT500 to me...especially if we get the Shelby GT, I'll have too many cars again... as if that is possible!!!! :happy feet:

The Sport Trac does not get a V8 emblem on the tailgate. The ST V8 is on the sides of the fenders. As far as the ST tailgate, the lower left side gets the Explorer Sport Trac emblem, which includes either Limited,XLT etc.The right side tailgate only gets a emblem if it's a 4x4.Quality is job 1 still lives!By the way your fuel mileage will improve greatly as your ST gets broken in.Enjoy that new Sport Trac and take care. :)

  8. Sorry to argue, but LAP NEVER made ranger in the 90's. I've worked at TCAP for 28 years, and the only other plant to build it was Edison since about '87

The original home of the Ranger was Louisville(KY) Assembly plant. We started building them in 1982.I know I was there. The Bronco II went into production about 1984.We ran 77 jobs per hour at first, which increased to 92 jobs per hour, after the Bronco II came out.We didn't have the capacity to build the supercab Ranger,so that is when Twin Cities picked that up in 1984.We always thought Twin Cities only built the Supercab Ranger.Edison started building the Ranger in 1987? after the Ranger became a huge seller and Louisville Assembly could not keep up with demand.Just like when Explorer first was a huge hit,Louisvile Assembly could not keep up with demand and St Louis picked up our overflow. We have been very fortunate to have produced some of Ford's most popular vehicles.I remember when Japanese auto industry people used to tour our plant, because they wanted to know what we were doing?90+ jobs per hour and excellent Quality too!I would put our workforce up against any.And also by the way dream weaver we built the Ranger up until the fall of 1999.We launched the Sport Trac in 2000 as a 2001 model. No big deal man but just thought I'd add a little solid info to the discussion.A little sugestion check the facts before making a statement.

  9. That was my concern... but I wonder if it is just computer settings or actual equipment difference. If there were no difference in performance I would get the option just to be envionmentally correct... but if I lose a lot of performance I would have to think twice and wait for an Explorer hybrid or fuel cell vehicle to be environmentally correct..

I spoke with an engineer today and he told me,you wouldn't notice any performance loss with the California emissions package.

  10. They are waiting for the stretch EXPI.

The Expedition XL will be a low volume, niche vehicle at best. But a plant saver ?Do you think Ford is stupid enough to throw the Explorer (or it's replacement) in the toilet.I don't think so.The Explorer has been the no.1 selling suv since it hit the market.

  11. In the 2006 Explorer Owners Manual it describes how to clean aluminum wheels and separately how to clean and protect chrome wheels. Since my 18" "Chrome" wheels on my Limited seem to be plastic , I am at a loss as to how to clean and protect the shiny chrome finish. The tech at the dealer said it was very important to keep brake risidue off of them from his experience on F-150'a with similar wheels but could offer no help on how to do this. He also said that if I kept the brake dust off of them the finish was under warranty for 36,000/36 months and seemed to hold up quite well. Anyone have any knowledge on this subject?

Personally I think they are damn good looking wheels and they hold up very well.I would recomend Armor All Quick Silver wheel cleaner,I've found it to do the best job on brake dust.Just spray it on and let it soak for a minute or two then spray off.It claims to be safe for all factory wheels.I'd like to say that I've used Meguiar's products for 30 years, but the Armor All wheel cleaner is a very good product that eats brake dust for breakfast.Enjoy that Explorer!

  12. The VIn # is written above. I would appreciate if someone from Louisville will help this guy. He is a friend of mine from the Norfolk Virginia area.

There is no Louisville Truck. But there is 2 Ford Motor Company assembly plants in Louisville,Kentucky. There is KTP(Kentucky Truck Plant) and they build the larger F-series,Super Duty, etc. Then there is LAP(Louisville Assembly Plant) and they build the Explorer,Mountaineer and the Explorer Sport Trac will be back in production early 2006.LAP is down till after the holidays.KTP is working this week and then they will be down till after the holidays.

What vehicle do you have ordered ? Maybe someone can help you out,but maybe not till after holidays.Good Luck ! :)

  13. Breath my brother no one is putting down Lap. Just pointing out that like slap , lap is old, builds a vechicle no one is buying(I think it is the best Explorer that we have ever built), and there is a lot of room at Ktp.I would never wish bad things on anyone, bad carma. the fact that Ron G. is from Lap is good for you and you should know that. Had he been from Slap things could be different, but there not and all ford people need to stick together. I want you guys to kick ass and launch the sport track with J.D power best vehicle awards, and show everyone that Ford people build Quality. God Luck.. Oh yeah born and raised south side of louisville, go cards.

No hard feelings brother. I guess we are all a little on edge, with good reason.I only wish the best for my union brothers and sisters.I would love to see you guys get another product.I wish SLAP was building the Fusion.I would feel a lot better about the Fusion, and what Ford Motor Company has riding on it's success,if you guys(SLAP) were building it.I will agree that Ron Gettlefinger being from LAP probaly doesn't hurt us,but I'm not convinced it helps us that much either. When he was elected president,I commented to a couple of guys on our bargaining committee that he would surely look out for his home plant. But they quickly replied don't be to sure,Ron's not like that.Oh well who knows.

What part of Louisville's southend are you from?I guess you know we(Cards) got a little game in Lexington this Saturday afternoon.Look for the Cards to kick some Wildcat bootie.Go CARDS !!! :D :D :D
