Hello all! I wanted to pop on here and see if anyone has experienced what I’m experiencing now with my 2019 Fusion 1.5 ecoboost. I noticed a faint rattling noise under the hood a couple of weeks ago when I remote started the car. I should mention though, I’ve never heard the sound until after I took it to my local Ford dealership to get an oil change. Anyways, the first time I heard it, I had no choice but to drive it home after work. But by the time I got home I didn’t hear the noise anymore. Then a couple of days later after I had been driving for a while (warm engine) I noticed the sound again. It’s not a very obvious “SOMETHING’S WRONG” sound but I noticed it and got concerned. I took it to the dealership and they’re saying I need a new turbocharger. But I watched tons of videos of what bad turbos sound like on ecoboost engines and mine doesn’t sound as bad as those in the videos I’ve seen. Again, mine is a faint loose/rattling/valvetrain sound, not so much a loud metallic rattle. Unless they’re in fact correct, and I just caught it early? Thanks in advance for your help/expertise!

My 2021 Raptor sounds like a golf ball is loose in a pocket between the cab and the bed, and bounces around when going over bumps. Removed everything from the bed, checked everything in the back, rode in the back seat, feels/sounds like from under the vehicle. Occasionally when the truck is tilted as in a banked curve I hear it (like a ball rolled to the side), but mostly over the bumps. I looked underneath, thought maybe because the skid plate over the gas tank wasn't secured in the front, could bounce, but after putting a rubber hose piece between, it made no difference, so that isn't it. I have seen comments in the Raptor forums that it is related to the shocks (different rear end on Gen 3 Raptors). A LOT of people are experiencing this noise, do we have any kind of solution short of simply replacing all suspension parts?

Hey everyone My new 2021 F150 Tremor has a rattle during cold starts that goes away once the cold start sequence ends and the rpm's drop to the normal 600. It's definitely not the cam phasers... Those sound different. I'm thinking it's the turbo wastegate rattling, but not 100% sure. It happens during every single cold start, and once it goes away when it warms up, I never hear it again.... until the next cold start. I've taken it to the dealer for them to check it out, but they barely touched it and said it's normal. I'll be taking it to another dealer to get a 2nd opinion. In the mean time, I'd love to hear what yall think. In the video, you can clearly hear it. You'll notice in the last few seconds of the video, the rattle goes away when the cold start sequence ends.
