LBC Posted August 19, 2007 Share Posted August 19, 2007 I have a 07 Expedition EL with about 10,000 miles and it has started making a noise in the rear end. I can not hear the noise until it is warm and get louder the longer it is driven after hearing it. It is more obvious at a speed less than 5 miles an hour but I can hear it at higher speeds at times. If you walk beside the vehicle while it is in motion, it seems to be from the center, between the rear wheels. I had it at the dealer last week and they could hear the noise but have not found the cause. They are guessing that it may be a lubrication issue with the split drive shaft and plan on taking it apart next week. Has anyone else had a similar issue? Any suggestions on what this may be.
