TruckerMan2003
Everybody @ NAP check out this article from Pilot Online : http://home.hamptonroads.com/stories/story...3699&ran=173663 I love the part where Kimmons plan is to try to convince us all not to take any buyout !!!! What a bunch of crap..... How do we know that these union thugs won't try to screw up any buyout offers from FORD so they will have more time to take care of THEMSELVES ! I can't say the same for the UAW....who are they really fighting for....us or their own ass ? WAKE UP 919....ITS OVER....DONT SCREW IT UP FOR THE REST OF US WHO ARE READY TO MOVE ON WITH OUR LIVES ! "PREZ" Kimmons has over 42 years, is also collecting social security check along with his Ford pay and union pay right now each month. The Local 919 UAW president is a "JOKE" but who are the biggest idiots? Kimmons will receive the first big buyout to retire BUT he will still stay on as the Local 919 President so then the members will be paying his salary and paying for all his trips across the country so he can "negotiate" for us. So who really is the idiot - Kimmons or the puppet union members that keep giving this local union their money each month. Long after the union members are long gone - the "PREZ" will keep getting paid with our union dues until the plant is sold. So anyone that believes his BS is just plain stupid. PREZ Kimmons statement in the newspaper "If we take packages and accept them, it says we accept what you're (Ford) doing to us". BUT the PREZ has nothing to lose by "sitting and waiting", he has no small children to take care, to educate, to ensure they have healthcare. Actually PREZ Kimmons has nothing but his ego as PREZ. The workers have accepted that they are losing there jobs and want to get on with their lives. The "PREZ" should be insisting on buyouts for workers ASAP. PREZ Kimmons daughter has been appointed by her father to be the editor-publisher of the Local 919 newsletter. You know the messenger 919 newsletter that costs thousands of union dollars and publishes absolutely no information. Just pictures and writings of the union hall idiots. The union members are now paying her hourly wages along with the PREZ. NAP to be 1 shift by end of Summer 2006. ED HAY - CHIRS KIMMONS These clowns have contributed to the fall of Norfolk and the UAW.
bubbaf150
What we have in the union hall right now is what hurt the hell out of local 919. Mr. Hays has not said a word since the anouncment of plant closing. Mr. Kimmons has done all the talking. Now come the good part, when you are dealing with Kimmons you are dealing with a complete IDIOT. He is just STUPID. He probably doesn't even know why Ford is buying people out. They are buying you of the Gen Pool. It is cheaper to give a buyout than paid you for 2 years in the gen. After the 07 negotiations there might not be a GEN POOL. So now where does the buyout come from. We don't hear much from our chairman but you have got to come to work to be heard. We do not have much in the union hall now and havn't for the last 4 years. But I don't think we have much running the International either. That is why we are in trouble and the rest of the country (union wise) is in trouble. The international are right they are going to use Norfolk as a bargaining chip. But not to keep us open but to keep the Company from a lot of take away. The international does not care about Norfolk. They don't want to loose us (because of dues) but they know it is a done deal and will try to do better for the other plants that are not closing. The folks on this board just can't seem to comprehend what "Buyout" means. The Plants that are idled now under the current UAW Contract are lucky, they have a bargaining chip, so to speak. That chip is the GEN Bank. FORD is required contractually to pay workers a percentage of 40 hours if their Plant is working or is not. That said, FORD is offering "Buyout Packages" to get Employees "off the books" so to speak, not because they are being sympathetic to Employees situations. Do you think in you're wildest dreams that FORD is going to agree to a GEN Bank Clause in the upcoming labor agreement with the UAW ??? If you owned a business would you sign an agreement with you're employees that says you will pay them if business is bad and we have to close ?? That said, NAP is slated to be idled in 2008. The new contract will not have a GEN clause like the current UAW Contract, bye bye bargaining chip. There will be nothing left to buyout !!!!!! The only chance for a buyout would be if 1) Plant would idle before the end of current contract 2) Go to 1 shift before the end of current contract (some would be offered) 3) Reduce the work force before the end of current contract (some would be offered) 4) The Union uses the 2007 contract negotiations to get Plants that are slated to be closed in 08 a special package Our Union needs to step up and demand FORD offer Packages across the board, it seems Plants that are slated to close later on in FORD'S Way Forward Plan are getting the short end of the stick. If the International Union doesn't step up the only check that FORD is going to cut,,,,,,,,will be for you're last week worked !!!
