2011 F350 Shifting Problems

Recommended Posts

I was having a hard 1-2 shift 3-2 shift. I changed the valve body and replaced it with a reman one from ebay. It didn't solve my problem and added a 5-6 hard shift. I called the company I got it from and they sent me a second valve body, so I installed that. The 1-2 and 3-2 shift issue had gotten better but now the downshift into 4th would lock my wheels up momentarily. Finally, I ordered a valve body from Ford, and the truck shifts great, EXCEPT if I'm cruising highway speed and step on the throttle to pass someone or go around a car that's tunring, at which point it downshifts to 4th and flares very badly before engaging 4th gear, sometimes so bad that its as if the truck goes to neutral and has to wait for the RPMS to decrease before engaging 4th gear. If I'm slowing down and the truck is just downshifting, it downshifts fine into 4th. Also, If I put the truck into manual mode and lock it into 4th, and mash the throttle, the trans doesn't slip at all. Is it possible that I've gotten 3 defective valve bodys in a row? Or what are some other things to look for? Each time I have put new fluid in, programmed the new strategy code, and performed a relearn. Naturally, I feel its the valve body because everytime I change it I get a different set of problems. But then again, 3 bad ones in a row seems unlikely. Any help would be appreciated.
