  1. No problem....We have to stand together in this mess. Kinda like being a parent. The kid makes a mess and we have to come behind them and clean it up........
  2. WRONG!!! Read your "link" Your number is all of North America including Mexico and Canada. There is only 75,000 in the USA
  3. The union don't "get a cut". BUT if you take the 28-30 years at 85%, you are still a Ford employee until you retire and then the Union still gets dues each month.
  4. KCAP is in pretty good shape. We have to be competitive, so plan on some changes. But you will get to vote on any changes! You cannot be laid off so that others can come here. BUT when Norfolk closes, if we increase production it is possible that they can come here with all their time under the "transfer of operations" agreement and then it might be possible to have a layoff. BY the way Linda is right!! There is only 75,000 Ford workers including the ACH/Visteon plants. Last year they all became Ford employees.
  5. When KCAP did the survey early this year we had about 1100 sign up. When we did the "yes or no" survey we had 673 sign up. Some have backed out and we are at about 625. We will have another sign up and yes there will be I guess about 500.
  6. I can't believe some of the BS I read on here...... We as Local Union Leaders do not know when the buyout will hit nor do we know exactly when any plant will close. Do you really think that Local Leadership knows? We know when Ford decides to tell us. Then as it has been forever the Union tries to deal with it and make it as fair as possible for all members. If it weren't for the UAW you wouldn't have a buyout or GEN or the money and benefits you get. If you don't like it you can always just quit and go to work at McDonalds. See if they let you do the stuff you do at Ford. Who will protect you then? And as for the Bull S**T about the Union getting some of the buyout money YOU REALLY MUST HAVE YOUR HEAD STUCK IN THE SAND..... There have been alot of buyouts paid out and the UNION has not gotten a penny! As for the meeting in Detroit last week, I was there and there was nothing announced. It was all about what the Union Leaders from each location thought about the buyouts and what ideas they had about changing them. AND THAT'S A FACT! WAKE UP WE ARE DOING OUR BEST FOR ALL MEMBERS AND THESE ARE TRYING TIMES FOR US ALL.
  7. You are right! The UAW is going to be smaller. As a Union Leader I want all UAW brothers and sisters that are affected to be able to get a package and for any seperation/buyout to be as painless as possible. Our members deserve to be treated with honesty and respect, told the honest true facts. What can we gain from lying? When members are elected they take an oath, too bad some don't live up to it. I was in the meeting in Detroit Tuesday and For the record we were not "sworn to be secrecy" It was just a meeting for all Union Leaders to throw out ideas about what each location was interested in for any POSSIBLE buyouts. Nothing was announced at all. Nobody from FORD was there, it was Union only! and as for the Meeting in 2 weeks....That was already scheduled. It is a regular UAW Sub-Council meeting. These are facts. Period
  8. All you UAW members that put your faith in someone hiding behind a name like "Wizard" are amazing. We as Union Leaders work our ass off for you, fighting all the BS rumors that your co-workers start. Everybody wants us to answer the rumors....How in the hell can we answer something somebody just made up? We don't know what's going on in Ford. They don't tell us ahead of time. We are always trying to find out and let the membership know FACTS not bullshit!...... Think about all your FORD co-workers and FORD suppiler employees, that drive something we don't build.... So many drive Volvo, Mazda, chevy, dodge, jeep or what ever! YOU helped contribute to the problems of today. As your neighbors see what you drive and what you say. YOU are plain STUPID if you purchase any vehicle that we didn't build right here in the USA. Those that work for a supplier, wouldn't it make sense to buy a vehicle that would support your own future? I am proud of the UAW and these are trying times for all of us. :titanic: You can help us swim or sink...your choice. Quit your bitching and be a part of the solution not the problem. How many of you voted for BUSH? The elected politicans in this country are choking us. Get involved and elect people that care about the working people. Don't vote for a politican because of guns,gays,God......You have your values but without a JOB how far will they get you?
  9. KCAP/PARTS/VRAP TOTALS WAS 60% NO AND 40% YES Not even true! The UAW is the members! Whatever they decide by their vote is the final answer. Yes or NO. It is up to the membership. The International tries to do the best they can and we get to vote. Do you really think that our vote don't matter? You need to wake up or if you really feel that way go work at McDonalds.
