Blue oval city…. A brand new, from the ground up faculty focused on EV’s. Now with this split, Ford is gonna fight like HELL to keep the UAW out of there. How? Separate the EV business from the ICE business. Like they just did! But not just “on paper”. As soon as the new campus gets ready to open, they “officially” spin it off into a new company. A company not bound by any previous contracts. And let the UAW get left behind on the ICE ghost ship to eventually sink on its own.

I’ll never own one… but I watched Andre from TFL’s quick look and came away impressed. Looks good. I think the pass through is cool and smart. I credit the lightning for some of the features I saw. Overall I’d say well done to GM. Hopefully they can get them built in a timely manner.

Don’t know the answer specifically …. But after a summer and fall of many down weeks due to the chip shortage. Our facility ( an engine plant) is back to full 3 shifts working with no down weeks. I think they’re getting a handle on things. Not 100% yet. But I think the log jam is definitely moving.

Looks good to my eyes. That safari roof does it for me too!

Wow good for them. Meanwhile, on the factory floor, Ford management makes it nearly impossible to get a day off. And then wants the hourly grunts to pre schedule their sick days. ( I’m not kidding). And we get to be the last lucky souls that are still mandated to wear a mask all day 10+ hours in the factory summer heat while most of the country breathes freely again. I guess a college degree now entitles people to work in their pajamas all day now. Good for them I suppose.

Any word on if the hybrid will be able to drive a few miles on EV mode only?

Question for someone smarter than me here..... it seems the the oil producing companies of the world ( domestically, Middle East, Russian) aren’t just going to shrug their shoulders and say “ oh well, I guess no one wants our oil anymore”. Can’t they continue to push the price of oil down to keep the public demanding ICE vehicles because it’s just so cheap? $1.35 a gallon gasoline is hard to argue with.

I have a 2012 with a MT. As a salesman once told a friend (he was looking to buy an Aerostar with a MT), "once you drive off the lot with the car, open the window and throw thousands of dollars out of the window." There are buyers for MT, but not many. If you are not going to drive it till it breaks, you will lose 1-2000 on resale. (My guess). Depending on where you live.
He may be right about that with every other car EXCEPT the 2012 and up Focus. The Auto’s are crap. The MT are the only ones that are going to last. I picked up a ‘16 SE HB with the 2.0 5spd with only 29k miles on it recently. I paid up for it. $13k. My thoughts were it was a high asking price, but then said to myself.. “find another one with these low miles and a MT.? “ There really aren’t any. So I pulled the trigger. And have been very pleased with the purchase!

BSP has always seemed linked closely with OAC. Just wondering if anyone “in the know” has heard anything about if the Canadian deal helps Buffalo’s future. BSP seemed kinda of left out of the last contract, product wise.

The building hasn’t been torn down. It’s still there. I just drove by it yesterday. However, it’s definitely empty. And definitely not running parts. There’s a “for sale “ sign in front of it.

Whew! That video is amazing! Love it!

I haven’t a clue about how many workers are on a Mexican Ford engine assembly line. But for reference, the Ford engine plant I work in has about 160 direct labor employees on each of its two assembly lines. Still more humans than robots. For now?!

Again, I’m “in house”. And literally nobody is echoing these sentiments. It just makes for eye grabbing headlines.

I haven’t heard a single person even suggest this in our facility. A letter was written by a vocal few.

Yep, I’m due to go back the 18th

Ford has kept ahold of many of the their former nameplate's trademarks without using them.
It still owns Falcon, Fairlane, Galaxie and Model T.
They have even kept ahold on concept-only names like Evos and formal trim levels like Adrenaline and Lightning.
Does not mean they are bringing back the Excursion.
I wonder if they still own “pinto”?

I enjoyed Sirius. But the full rate monthly premium was just too high to justify. And I tired of the “call and threaten to cancel to get a lower price” game. I as well use Pandora now. 6 dollars a month.

Sorry, of course I have. I misread what the poster was saying. Duh.

And while it's not on your list of choices, I would return the Special Vehicle Team (SVT) name to US Ford Performance products. I think that team and brand had real recognition and meaning to Ford enthusiasts, and "Ford Performance" just doesn't evoke the same feelings (IMHO).
I’ve been with Ford 26 years. I’ve never even heard of what you’re talking about.

For future reference, I’m in Ohio BTW, I’ve always found it easier to just play along with unemployment requests to “actively search for work” We were required to apply to 2 employers a week( not currently though). So I applied to NASA, Apple, Microsoft, Tesla etc. to be an engineer of some sort. I’m a college dropout. I’ve never gotten a call back. Go figure? But my unemployment goes through, haha!

Once the 600 a week kicks in, SUB will be kicked out.

It’s being built at the Cleveland plant.

For me, in Ohio. Unemployment with no taxes taken out plus SUB. About 800 a week.
FORD CONSIDERING MORE OFF-ROAD CAPABLE FORD EXPEDITION

The employee lot at the Ford facility I work at used to be nearly exclusively FoMoCo products. Now? The non ford parking area seems to get fuller every year. The younger employees are finding vehicles they can afford. And I can’t say I blame them.
