The wording I've heard management use is the e cutaway will continue up to the end of the decade. I take that as model year 2018 or 19.

With all due respect Fbf, I wouldn't call our o/t "massive." We have worked, I think, a Saturday and a couple Sundays so far this year. We'll see what the C489 launch brings...
Wait.....what? C489 launch? Isn't that the Mkc?

Fordparts.com. And if you're an employee make sure to enter it in the coupon box at checkout. An additional 10% off. The code is "employee". It will verify your name and last four.

Why would you post the amount? Have some class.

Going back to this, over the next few years where is the sheetmetal for the cutaways going to come from? I doubt that Ford will stockpile enough for several years of cutaway production. Sending the tooling out to an outside stamper is a possibility, but at what
Might the cutaways be based on something other than E Series sooner than we think?
All the cutaway stamping will be moved to Buffalo stamping plant in new york. Some jobs have already been moved there.

I suppose the upside to that is for those of us left, we get primo parking everyday! Haha!

Scheduled last day to make e series parts at walton hills is june 26 or 27th. And those are assemblies. Stamping will be done a few days before that. Walton Hills lives on in a limited capacity for a few more months because of f150 parts. Just 2014 parts......once those balance out the plant is done.

I still have know idea where this 2.3 will be assembled. ........
-
Pretty sure the 2.7 is at Lima.

Most of that hiring is going to be for salary and for asia. There is a stamping plant in ohio closing this summer. Those folks will get first dibs on any openings. If the economy slows at all and they pull a shift at I.e flat rock or MAP, then all of the sudden there are hundreds of surplus employees. ...... no need to hire. I think the only place that may need people is kansas city assembly. I think all these rumors of hiring sprees and needing thousands of people are put out to boost stock prices and boost company reputation.

The 1996 taurus, sable, and crown vics had aluminum deck lids. Ford isn't new to the aluminum game.

Anyone know at what ford engine plant the 2.3 ecoboost will be built?
-
I think it is more to do with the launch of an all new vehicle......and all new stamping facility, with an all new press, with all new dies. All new everthing is having some growing pains. I do know for a fact that balance out for the e- series is scheduled for end of june/early july. But even that isnt set in stone. I don't know if the different van models will balance out at different times?

I thought Avon Lake was going to be home to the Mediums....
My bad....I was thinking transit job1.
-
Anyone hear of a Job #1 for the new medium duties ?
Word is..........things aren't going very well in KC. Unfortunately, I don't know anymore than that.

Where is this 2.3 engine built?

There was just a posting for production jobs for buffalo at our plant. They probably have to go through all the different hierarchy levels for current laid off employees first, before any new hires are brought in.
-
Woodhaven...maybe. Brookpark no.
-
I wouldn't think that's something they could do mid-contract. ??

I totally agree with Langston! And I assume those guys have all learned a lesson about doing favors for salary. They WILL screw you in the end, everytime. Always have, always will.

Ill bet my right ear, there is no way there will be any of these charging stations in any of the hourly lots. They'll all be for the salary "employees". But lets hope Ford proves me wrong.

I'm happy to see GM moving that many Volts a month. That car seemed seemed like a roll of the dice to me. I'd like to see the Volt technologies adopted into some of the more "everyday" GM vehicles.

Count me as one of those sales. I bought a Flex!

I've never experienced the start/stop engine feature in real life. Anyone know if there is an option to disable it? If the owner was so inclined to do so?
