  1. Thanks for the advice guys! Kinda off topic.....I dont have the manual yet because I dont have the car yet because I cant take delivery of the car yet because it cant be released until it gets the fuel system leak recall fixed....breath..haha. I went to look at the Flex a month ago but they told me the car cant be sold or driven until the potential fuel leak problem is fixed. The problem is there arent any spare parts to fix the unsold cars on the lots. But customer cars will be fixed first. So....if I wanted a flex, I had to buy it, then the car would jump to the top of the list to be fixed. The dealer did offer me a loaner Fusion to drive until the Flex is ready. But ill tell ya....its a major bummer to throw down a big load of money and sign all the papers and have to leave the dealer in a loaner car...haha!

  2. So I am picking up a new Flex this week with the non-ecoboost 3.5. Our family has a Florida trip planned for the following week. Do you guys think its a bad idea to take off on a 2000 mile trip in a brand new car? I've read lots of varying opinions on it. Some say low revs and no constant speed for the first 500 miles. Some say new engines dont require anything like that anymore. I respect your guy's opinion around here and was wondering what you all think/know.

  3. Ok...so I go to my local dealer to check out a new flex. It's a basic se model. Black cloth interior. Nice car. But the salesman says, well I can't sell this to you today. He then shows me that somehow the third row seat was installed with the leather seats. It should have been cloth. I chuckled to myself, but as an employee was a little embarrassed. I get that mistakes happen, but is there any end of the line inspection that should catch a mistake like this?

  4. Ill apologize in advance for sounding like a jerk.......but i would think that being out in western ny all by itself, everyone at BSP would be working their asses off to keep that plant vibrant and viable. Trust me, being at a plant that is a sinking ship, everyone here would love the opportunity to implement the work teams and get new work......just like Buffalo is supposed to. Get in the game and move forward BSP. Dont let yourselves become the next Walton Hills Stamping...I.E/closed.

  5. I did come from sandusky and I signed a bid for flatrock that was posted in apil @ the sandusky plant, Still have my copy of the 4 pages we had to fill out. I have a decent job @ ohap but fltrock was my first choice BECAUSE of stability. I was just trying to be nice when I noticed people were asking questions about flatrock and posting what info I was told.

Well that's interesting. If Sandusky posted a frap bid in April, why weren't you able to go then?

  6. This was the plant I signed to go to when my home plant was sold. I called and talked to a rep @ this plant before I made my decission so I had all the info. I was never honored that request. My chairman @ the time said they had temps and they were only there till august end of story. He did not want to discuss all the openings that would be there he just had his people blow me off. So there has been people moved to plants then thier first choice had openings so they asked them @ the plant they moved to if they still wanted thier first choice. I started wondering if this would be an option for me when all the jobs came in @ flatrock since that was my first choice so I made some phone calls. First thing I was told was that if there were temps there I shouldve been transfered there. Then was told it will not be a wide posting like Kentucky was. The people that are laidoff in michigan will have first option (which is only right) then plants that are sold up there those people PLUS any ach worker in that plant then after that they would hold a LOTTO for the workers there to get friends and family in. Glad we all pay union dues and get no representation and they do what they want and pretty much say screw all you as long as I get what I want. Just wanted to let you know what I've been told by the calls I've made. Games are going on all over in the system plants blocking people from coming in because of senority and guys up north wanting

to get everybody they know a job and the people that will screw a whole membership over to get what they want no matter how it affects anybody

Im going to make a couple of assumptions based on the info you posted. First you are from sandusky and signed to go to ohap. The way transfers work, at the time of your plant closing/ selling. You can only transfer to a plant that has posted openings. Even if frap had temps working, it doesnt necessarily mean there are permanent openings there. You went to ohap. I dont think they have any xtra people. So even if a frap bid comes up, I dont think you will see it anyway. IMO, you are stuck there. What I may have done if I were you, again assuming you came from Sandusky, is to have gone to walton hills. Yes they are closing, but thats the good thing.....most of the available bids should eventually get posted there. Again, all assumptions. Of course that would have been a gamble if that was the plan, but I think you better get used to ohap. Th ou aint goin no where.

  7.

If your laid off its cause that was your choice, Ford has posted plenty of job openings here recently.

Ugh. LJ, we all get that you enjoy being the blue oval troll. But youre really detroying what could be a very powerful place for us emplyees to share info. When you post in topics that you know nothing about, you look like a fool. So now i will sit back and wait for your smartass reply.
