I've always hated that guy's voice. He says Lexus like "Lxus."
-
Uh ... did you guys see the date of the original article? The Danbury News Times?
-
I'm sure that if GM survives, they will offer a convertible version in a year or two. That's a no brainer.
-
I thought they canceled the Z28 last summer?
What was it going to have, anyway, the Z06 engine? (I can't keep all the Chevy alphanumeric engine designations straight--LS3, LS6, LS7, LSD?)

You can make profit by not spending money.

All three are appealing performance cars, but I would take the Mustang. Why? Heritage. The Mustang is the original and the Camaro and Challenger are the responses to it, specifically in response to the Mustang's redesign for 2005 when GM and Chrysler had a dearth of any proper competitors. How would the Camaro and Challenger appear if Ford simply carried on the previous vintage Mustang? Would they have appeared at all? It reminds me of movie remakes or "relaunches," like the James Bond franchise. I like Daniel Craig's portrayal of Bond, but can he truly replace Sean Connery? Even if someone prefers Craig he will always be compared to Connery, the original. The Camaro and Challenger are in the same situation. They may perform, but, for better or worse, the Mustang is the standard by which their performance is judged.
Not only that, but the Mustang styling pulls something from every generation of the car (not as much with the 2010 model as with the 2005-2009 models). The Challenger is a copy of a 1970 model (of course the original Challenger only had one generation--the '80s Mitsubishi thing doesn't count). The Camaro is an origami version of a 1969 Camaro. Chevy ignored all other iterations of the car.
Overall I think the Mustang design is better integrated as well. And if you don't like the taillights on the new Mustang, just look at the butt of the new Camaro.

I hope the stay around so Ford can make the Mustang better, with no competition, it will die as well.
Yeah, it sold so poorly between 2002 and 2008. And there were hardly any changes or model variation.

Page 24 of My FORD 08
That is a highly exaggerated, unproducible Mustang concept sketch.
But it looks like it has some of the features (such as "hips") that we've been hearing about for the 2010 model. The front looks scarily like a Camaro there.

On top of all that, signing on to a message board and imploring corporate executives to offer you a rebate is pointless.
Do you really think Mulally is gonna look at this, make a phone call, and say, "Give that boy a rebate?"

Frank Bullitt wouldn't whine on the Internet.

It's yesterday here.
-
If it was a Ford, there would be a waiting list of people pointing out all its flaws.
-
Plus it was the closest thing I could get to British Racing Green/Dark Highland Green.

Mine too! Under different lighting it looks different, too. Sometimes it looks blue and sometimes it looks black.
-
Now, if one doesn't like blue or red, there isn't much left.
Yellow, black, white, teal, green, and opal. That's six non-blue or red colors. And that's just for 1995. For 1996 they offered orange for the first time in a long time.
-
For 1995, you had your choice of 11 colors. I'll list them in case they're not legible in the photo:
Canary Yellow Clearcoat (GT only)
Sapphire Blue Clearcoat Metallic (GT only)
Rio Red Tinted Clearcoat
Laser Red Tinted Clearcoat Metallic
Vibrant Red Clearcoat
Bright Blue Clearcoat Metallic
Deep Forest Green Clearcoat Metallic (my color!)
Teal Clearcoat Metallic
Opal Frost Clearcoat Metallic
Black Clearcoat
Crystal White Clearcoat

Meh. No body on frame....

We're not the ones writing letters to Ford executives to try to haggle with them. Take it up with a dealer. If the dealer wants to unload the car, they'll give you a deal.
It's a limited production, special edition car. You either pay the premium for your precious exclusivity, or you don't.
-
If Ford had any sense it would invent new colors.
-
I love the Panthers, but I have reconciled myself to the fact that they're going away.
-
Yeah, all the overtime I worked to pay for the mods has taken up all my play time, though. I haven't been able to take it to any kind of track yet.
That's what I've been wanting to do with the car since I ordered it back 1995, though.
-
I just totally redid mine, including a paint job.
The engine has as much Edelbrock as I could put in/on it, and the suspension is all Griggs (coilovers front and rear).

It's never moot if people can complain about it!
