well election time is getting closer by the day. Whats on everyones mind. I would like to hear opinions.

everyone needs to just step back for a few. nominations is not till April 30th, elections are on May 12th. from what i hear people are already changing there minds for what they are running for. While I'm sure deals are already in process and we all know mod and lance are the biggest deal cutters, and whats in for themselves reps we got. So watch your back and lets hold on for the ride.

Ok lets start by telling the facts! First and foremost me and I'm sure the rest of our UAW brothers and sisters do not want to see anyone on ILO. Second lets talk about what put them people out to begin with, which was 6F volume tanking. 6F volumes are starting to climb a bit and thats why 16 came back. Third we all now north american focus's will be getting the new 6 speed power shift being made in Mexico, so be prepared for volumes in FN to come down some. While we will continue to do over seas for another couple of years it will most likely take 1 shift. Also the other shift being added to 6FM is only in department 463, the only issue is no one knows how to run to 4 crew 2 shift pattern. Yes we all know Van Dyke is a great plant but not all areas are prospering and if the Taurus does not sell who knows what will happen to 6F. The work that is promised for high bay, I'm not holding my breath Mod got promised work for high bay 8 years ago when he signed a MOA and even meet with the people who worked back there and its still not here. Mod also let a shit load of work leave high bay when he should not have. LETS ALL HOPE ALL OF OUR UNION BROTHERS AND SISTER ARE BACK TO WORK SOON NO MATTER WHERE THEY ARE LAID OFF FROM. Well its already starting at Van Dyke! 8 months till general election and people are at it already. Heard today Karen Hollis is making a bid for president and teaming up with 2 women from Utica. She is trying bull shit the new people(of course she picked real gems i here LOL) in the plant to think she is a saint. Lets remember Karen resigned from trustee because she could not get her way and lets not forget she ripped people off years ago with the little ceasers pizza kits. But anyway lets look at some candidates. Here is a list of what I hear so far. if any one knows any different please add to list. Would like to hear opinions. Also whats your opinion of putting 400 people in office at Van Dyke? I say no at this time it could bring major trouble. If I recall some conversations with a few that came to Van Dyke from Utica/Chesterfield. Wasn't Modzelwski involved in that? I was told he was suppose to attend and speak at some sort of hearing on behalf of those that got screwed and never showed up. If thats the case no wonder he went back to Van Dyke! Lucky us! I guess we all know what type of person Mod is now don't we. Maybe that why we got so many people, Mods little way of trying to make up for his wrong?

Come on know are you saying trades is better?? With out one you can not have another. Last I heard any jobs given away is a terrible thing. Regardless if its cleaners or trades work. if you look at DFM they have brought in about 20 people to replace hourly workers and just wait read the master agreement material handling and all other jobs that do nor effect core jobs is gone. THE BEGINNING OF TWO TIER WAGE!

As for Lance Adams I am not a big supporter of his either...he is campaigning on I finally saw the light on Mod when for years he seen what was going on in that committee room and was a part of it. I agree in a way, maybe Vince was to vocal. But on the other hand you can not blame a guy who continued to have money taken away. Mod took his shift premium away, would not work him on weekends when he was low hours and screwed him on shutdown. Hell we all want grievances filed if that happens to us! Mod never docked or took money away from Seroka, Keitz or anyone else. Just ask your current or past elected reps they will tell you Mod messed with him all the time. When someone does that that is like taking away from your family. I don't know about you but we all come to work for the money and if someone did that to me I would MF him also. CAN NOT BLAME A GUY FOR THAT AND IT SHOWS HOW VINDICTIVE MOD IS.

I do not think it is about who will screw Mod. but if Mods boy gets in he will think he is still the almighty god! That is the thing that must not happen. Mod and Lambert are campaigning for Lo and if i were him i would not want that. I think in the long run he will be on the losing end because of that. The question of the day does experience mean anything? Not at Van Dyke our plant votes for no experience and then gets screwed!

i think you need to look at the list again! There is not one person that is going to change anything or save the world. They all suck and all of them but foster want mod out. So does that mean I should vote for foster because he likes Mod? I don't think so. I have no problem with you hating lance give that a break and lets hear what you got to say about the rest of the candidates.

Rodney Van- This is the guy who's mother hired the her entire family and friends at Van Dyke Scott Mcmenamin-The only votes he will get are from the ones who cant stand working with him on the floor. Lance Adams-Old Mod boy who says he has seen the light. Lets hope so if he wins. Norm Eelbode-grumpy toolmaker but you never know. Lawrence Foster-the new puppet for mod. Now I'm confused a bit, I put in a earlier post that I had heard Rob was going to run so at the vote Saturday I asked him. He said NO WAY was he running. I also asked who he was going to support and he told me that was for him to know and no one else. He said he has 3 or 4 people running (if names are true) he likes as people and was not going to campaign for no one. So the way I look at it people need to do what I did and go to the person being talked about and ask for your self and stop making up stories. I also recommend that each of us take a good look at the candidates on the 25th and make a good educated decision on what they have done or what they could do. Experience is not just the only factor to consider. best of luck to us all!

I do not agree with that, I heard a rumor today that Rob Miller was going to throw his hat in the ring. I was told he did not like who was on the list and i think Rob would be one hell of a candidate. hes got experience and he would make a great plant committee and chairman in the future.

I pray for this membership because the next year or so will even be uglier.

I like Steve and I have seen his posts about not being sure if he will even run for committeeman again but have never spoke to him about it. I have spoke with Rob in the past and he said he would run again in the future. Why wont he run this time? I know he would be good at the job. In regard to the others I pray for us all.

I was very surprised on the amount of people there. Very unusual, I wonder if it was because so many were upset over the mid range TLO. I was not surprised mod addressed it first thing in his report. From what I hear he was getting his but kicked last week about it. He also gave his thanks to all the committeemen, for putting up with all us that are upset. I know it takes a lot but is that not what they signed up for? Or maybe if they got the correct info from mod it would not be so bad. Before you get mad Steve, I'm not dogging the the committeemen! All i'm saying is that maybe your job would be better and easier if mod was not on vacation or taking a day off when shit gets thick.

I do not agree with you 100% maybe 90%, I think people need to look at YOU or anyone else on their own merit like you said. But if someone is doing well or had done well in the past that you believe to be 100% honest and with integrity we should support them no matter what. so hang in there and keep doing your job. I believe Steve is in a bad situation. He has an ass hole for a chairman, a plant committee that bailed on the room and no where to turn. Do i believe he is a big mod boy, I don't think so. During the last election he was a big supporter of rob miller in which I should have listened to Steve and voted for. So give the guy a break and lets see what he does. I believe he knows right from wrong even though he is not perfect by far.
