  1. I'm curious on where you got how the Explorer will be smaller????
  2. Relax guys, I think he is just extremely frustrated with what's been happening especially if it comes to ones lively hood. The whole point is survival, one is personal and one is business and it comes downs to the happy medium. I know I am barely surviving if not on the brink of losing all if things don't get better. Remember, a lot of people had bought houses at the highest level compared to what they are worth today as one example. Ford is surviving at this point with all the modifications that have been made and the smarter business decisions that have been made as well. Hopefully this is the happy medium that we can live with at this point but if more is asked is where it will start becoming difficult on a personal level of survival. Bottom line is if sales aren't there, then it doesn't matter what is given up by anybody. GM and Chrysler are 2 different entity's that in my personal view will not survive at all given by the horrible decisions that have been made at those companies for a very long time as well as Ford. All we can do is wait and see what happens in the next 6 months with Ford and remember, Mullally had already said that Ford is inline with the competitors now. Let's see what happens.
  3. That would be great since I'm at the plant that makes the tranny for it
  4. You'll never understand anything, to even have a discussion with you is like talking to a wall. line workers will have more affect with the engineers than you think. So keep thinking what you want, I know what I did working with the engineers over the years and will keep working with them to make things better for my fellow worker and the company. You're to narrow minded.
  5. If only that was 100% true cause it isn't, yes it did improve but only by the the suggestions and the working with the UAW to improve the machinery, the quality of the product by working with the people on the line, that machine the parts, etc, etc. You just wanna believe that we just sit around and let them deal with it. You are so way off the cuff weather man.
  6. Your way off, it'll be in the Edge before the Explorer
  7. great post, everything we do is a skill, working a robot with a teach pendent requires classes that turn into a skill. There's plenty more to say but you said it already, very nice
  8. I'm sorry, was I referring to you??? I don't think so. I've read plenty of your posts and you cry about not retiring because of the future of inflation but yet at the same time you say you're well off and can sit back enjoy life. Sounds like an oxymoron to me. Now I don't care if you retire or not, I could give a rats ass but you wanna come and attack me then game on. I feel retirement is not a death sentence as some seem to feel but it's a second lease on life to enjoy it with yourself, wife and family and if you feel you need to do something just to pass the time then go golfing, get a job at a golf course or whatever you want. But if you want the second tier to come in by telling the lower seniority to take the buyout is the most stupid thing I've heard. The future of the UAW would be hurt by the lower tier, not that the UAW isn't hurting now, but to have the future of UAW reps in the hands of lower tier workers as the majority would be hurtful to future negotiations and your benefits. So shut you're pie hole cause you seem to be one of the people on here that scream the sky is falling all the time.
  9. it's the most power coming out of the engine is at the flywheel
  10. 6,10,15 are years of seniority
  11. I agree with you where if the filings would have taken place back in Nov or even Jan. this economy would be in way worse shape than it is now. I still think there are going to be some ramifications if they file but now it's a wait and see on what will happen but if people think it's all good are fooling themselves.
  12. Richard, do you believe things are different now, some companies had time to put in contingency plans in case this has happened. I still believe there is still going to be some fall out
  13. Back 6 months ago was a different animal compared to now. Now, companies like Ford had a chance to put contingency plans together in the case that one or both went bankrupt where as if they both filed then could have or would have been more disastrous compared to now.
  14. Dude, you never make any sense. Your about as dense as wood. I bet ya if we cut your head open, we'd be able to count the rings to see how old you are. You have senseless gibberish that never brings anything to the table. Baldwin is a tool anyways that has no credibility.
  15. You're only pointing out the 4 cylinder where the 6 cylinder eng and trans are U.S. made.
  16. I'm just asking, no need to get snippy
  17. What's you seniority Country Gril????
  18. So then you want to kill the 2 plants in the U.S. that support the plant in Mexico? The ones that build the powertrain for the Fusion, MKS and Milan. Now I do think they should be assembled here but it's not going to be here and Ford is not going to move it unless the Fusion line sells out of it's mind. Then they could possibly build it here in an idled plant. And then there is where it can be stolen from Mexico as long as the quality is better. Now as far as the Fiesta, that's a whole different animal because there are no B-cars even built in the U.S at all. I can't defend that one.
  19. I'll hold you to it, but do everyone a favor and hold off on the name calling as you can see people will react in a negative manor. But you have to understand that peoples lives have been turned upside down and trying to hold on to any material possessions that they have as well as trying to keep their family's afloat. As you posted in this thread, we as the UAW right now are going up against this country as the reason for the demise of the Big 3 and we know that is farthest from the truth. Fighting the public is very difficult let alone each other. But there are alot of touchy subjects out there that can make anybody snap.
  20. So you are in MI, I'm not going to ask what city but what plant?
  21. What's the truth? We all know what we are up against. The general public, the case of the company losing money and bleeding with a possible bankruptcy that is actually dwindling away a little bit every day which is positive. But what is the truth that you trying to say?
