  1. I heard today CHINA will be taking over the ETB line at Rawsonville. Competative WTF. How can you compete with that shit! If this is true I hope the finished product is wracked with quality issues costing them millions, and I hope the boats shipping them here sink. Hey Ford FUCK YOU!
  2. What a 1990? Anyway with the "OH SO LOYAL" Yoda people their should not be any incentives, I dont know how they are even still on the lots since they are just so awsome. I am still hoping they dont sell there projected numbers on there over rated truck.
  3. :happy feet: LOS ANGELES -- Facing pricing pressure from domestic automakers willing to place cash incentives on their full-sized pickups, Toyota Division has added a nationwide $1,000 spiff on the just-launched 2007 Tundra. The new incentive can only be applied to help a customer with a vehicle trade-in allowance, said Denise Morrissey of Toyota. Dealers do not have to spend the entire $1,000; they can offer it how they see fit, Morrissey said. Toyota already has incentives of up to $2,000 cash back on the Tundra, which vary by model and region. The standard cab Tundra has as much as $2,000 cash back, depending on the region. The extended cab model has up to a $1,000 spiff. The Crew Max model has no incentives, and the trade-in assistance is not applicable on that model, Morrissey said. ... I must confess this great news made my day! I also hope they cant sell the projected numbers. It really is a fricken ugly truck. :happy feet:
  4. Where did I bring up my Mustang? and yes it is better anyway, when I was your age I drove a 71 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme with a 455, in the summer and always had a second car around for winter or whatever. And I drove many many other domestic cars that where put thru the ringer. Your comparing a car ratio of 20 -1. Meaning their are way more domestics compared to Kia. Look at Toyoda, they start producing more cars and what happens recalls, quality issues, it took a long time to get there but they are there. So if the numbers where equal my money would be on the domestics. And you say Ford/Chevy lover bash, but the import lovers dont,, I will use your thought, people like you will continue to bash domestics, so what kind of car are you driving now?
  5. The topic is "Auto Week Long Term Test of Hyundai Sonata" not Ford. And I relize that, also Ford is American out of Dearborn and has been around for 100yrs, and sells how many more cars? I was just pointing out that as wonderful as he may think they are and how he has never seen issues doesnt mean they dont exsist. Also Kia/Hundie still have poor resale value. Also Gm/Ford have upped the warranty on their cars also. Gm 5yr/100.000 miles transferable powertrain. 2007 model year E-Series and F-Series (up to F-550) diesel engine warranty coverage is 5 years/100,000 miles. Unique hybrid components have 8-year/100,000-mile limited-warranty coverage. A 2006 Model Year Ford vehicle sold on or after July 14, 2006 will be covered by a complimentary 5year/60,000 Mile Ford ESP PowertrainCARE extended service contract with a $100 deductible. For 2007 Model Year Ford products the warranty is fully transferable with no deductible. Ok so what should be covered under warranty, dont act like that couldnt happen to a Kia.
  6. Wow, so much experiance from someone who has owned 1 car and is 18/19. Not really a a big deal, when you have a car with 138-hp or less, anyway I have had many, Ford/Gm cars go thru the same abuse, many ford trucks go thru alot of abuse,(all v-8's) drove them like I stole them they all took it and were later sold and beat on somemore. Yup your right Kia's NEVER have trany or other issues like you metioned above. Kia Stalling Angel of Seaford NY Car has been nothing but a saftey hazard. Car shuts off while driving, no pickup after stopping, a HOLD light comes on all the time. I am going to get killed in this car. Kia can not find anything wrong. Everyone that has this vechicle complains and NO RECALLS are ever seen. The car is dangerous and someone needs to have some pulled off the road to test them out. I am stuck making payments on a car that is going to kill me. Please look into this and the hundreds of complaints KIA receives - they take no responsibility. William of Conover NC My son and I purchased a 2002 Kia Rio from this dealership on 1/3/04. We also purchased the extended warranty for an additional $1,000. Last week, on or around 1/25/04, David (my son) noticed that the transmission would not go into reverse. The service department told us that the transmission had gone bad because the TCU was not bolted to the body of the car and therefore was not properly grounded. They are saying that this caused the TCU to fail which in turn caused the transmission to fail. Rachel of Beaverton OR My 2002 Kia Spectra has 31,000 miles on it. Two days ago my clutch went out, with no warning, leaving me stranded for 3 hours because Kia towing is not normally opened on Saturday. Naturally, my warranty doesn't cover it, and Kia wants to charge me three times the estimate of four other repair shops. They also want $120.00, just to turn off my check engine light. Cecille of Pawling NY I purchased a New Kia Sportage in January of 2003. The car is now worth $7,500. I still owe $16,000. The car has received a new transmission, a new transfer case, an oil plug, rewiring, no interior light. All in just 14 months. Parts are shipped from Korea, Carolyn of Aloha OR This a REAL SAFETY issue! I read all of the complaints regarding the KIA on your site. If you compile them all together you have a pretty accurate description of my nightmare with the vehicle I have been stuck with since 1997. You know, it's easier to get through a divorce than live with this KIA. The sales ad should read: For sale, Brand new KIA sportage ... will need transmission replaced in two months, expect engine light to appear continuously (troubleshooter: use tape to cover up the engine light on dash so as not to annoy you) ... visor to break off in approx. 6 months ... seatbelt problems, alignment problems, rust problems, comes with four wheels (but may fall off while driving), small problems with going out of control on fwy (but don't be alarmed, this is normal), http://www.consumeraffairs.com/automotive/...ansmission.html
  7. First how reliable can it be in 2 wks?, second your telling me that Ford/Gm had nothing to offer, YAHHHHH Right. Did you actually test drive the Colbalt? How about a Focus, Fusion? None of these cars fit your needs? I just find that hard to believe. But its your money and you can spend it however poorly you want. China/Korea/Japan get enough damn money, they will never in my life get my money for the purchase of a new car. And you should feel guilty for buying a car that supports nobody in the United States.
  8. yahhhhh sure it does, yah down hill with a Mustang pushing it. Its a cheeso car for people that could care less what they drive or what it looks like. Domestics are better period, but put up a smoke screen warranty and a cheeso price and people will buy it. I will enjoy my trouble free Sable, or Mustang GT.
  9. 62,000 workers just at the Rouge, WOW. The Uaw had power then and the men were not pussys and ME-ME's. Now Ford/ Gm/ Chrysler can do whatever they want contract or not. Times like the above quote will NEVER happen again. To bad. Shit, would never happen now,,the employees would gladly give away the farm, heck look at the rouge now!! Anyway Great article, the people in the article are the ones that paved the way for the Uaw/Ford /Gm/Chrysler, now all of that is going BYE-BYE.
  10. Good post, All the new Ford cares about is making Wallstreet happy, paying people like Mulally millions to shut everything that isnt core down and only worry about overseas. Its union busting at its greatest. The we cant compete line has worn thin. And yes the dealers are a huge problem, dont have a answer for that. The customer is their bread and butter but you would never know it with some of there attitudes. Here are some interesting articles I came across. "The Boss's Survival Guide" by Rosner, Halcrow & Lavin (McGraw Hill, 2001) "Until the 1980s, employee loyalty meant punching the same time clock from diploma to grave. Whether a boss was a kindly father or an antacid-swilling SOB didn't matter. People shrugged it off and kept plugging away until they earned that nifty gold watch. No more! Today's employees have attention spans the length of an MTV video. They don't want your gold watch. They're Swatch employees; watches and jobs are for the moment, not for a lifetime. No wonder the average job tenure is 3.5 years and shrinking." Company Focus, By Michael Brush While pensions fall short, CEOs fly high Ford, GM, United Airlines, Continental. They're just four of the companies struggling with falling profits and pension problems as their executives get huge payouts. In the executive suites of these companies, however, there's no pain to be found. United Airlines chief executive Glenn Tilton collected $3.4 million in compensation in the year leading up to the airline’s 2002 bankruptcy. He received another $4.5 million of his pre-bankruptcy pay package in 2003-2005. And while the pension pit grows at Ford, chief executive William Clay Ford Jr. has collected $53 million over the past three years. At GM, G. Richard Wagoner Jr. got $40.7 million over that period. It's no secret that corporate bigwigs have paid themselves handsomely while stiffing their workers and sending jobs overseas. It's particularly galling, though, to see these same executives locking in their own lifetime of luxury while rolling the dice with their workers' retirement years. Consider the case of Continental Airlines (CAL, news, msgs). Last year, with Continental and other major airlines facing massive losses and the threat of bankruptcy, outgoing Continental chief Gordon Bethune took a $22 million lump-sum payment from his retirement plan. At the same time, Continental's pension plan is underfunded by $1.58 billion. “That situation with Bethune just crystallizes the whole unfairness of it all,” says Paul Hodgson, a senior research associate with The Corporate Library, a Portland, Me. company that examines executive pay and corporate governance issues for investors. “The amount that (executives) have earned over the years would seem to be enough to provide for their retirement, and the idea that you have to provide retirement benefits worth 50% of their annual compensation is absurd.”Pensions don't actually shrink unless a company files for bankruptcy and passes pension obligations on to the government. http://moneycentral.msn.com/content/P119362.asp
  11. :happy feet: :happy feet: But how can this happen since they are Toyodas,
  12. I voted on it, and voted for Gm, and I sent it to all my family and friends, Yoda and the people that drive them got alittle deflated that day. You know what GOOD!
  13. Had to go and say KIA, now Ovaltine is going to have to comment!
  14. NICE TRUTHFULL POST!!! It should stay on here week after week.
  15. SO what was wrong with it?????????????????? Writes this long posts bashing the thing and Ford then cant even let us know what was wrong.
  16. Another ASSHOLE talking out his ass. Or are you talking from experiance. Tell us how a line worker can cause 5 compressors to fail? Tell us how a line worker can make window motors fail? Oh I am sorry you are right, all those parts come from non-union supplier shops, so I guess your right they could be doing all of what you said. What a puke you are. I know your wal-mart greeeter job blows but dont take it out on Ford employees.
  17. All I can say is WOW! My brothers has 180k, never has any of those issues, how the hell do 5 compressors go bad??
  18. My '01 F-150 was in the shop 33 times in the 1st 2 years of ownership. I was given a Toyota or Mitsu about 25 of the 33 times as a loaner out of the kindness of my dealers heart as he wasn't obligated to do so. He was a Ford/LM/Toy/Mitsu dealer. Should I have bought a spare Ford to drive to work to please people like you? Yahhh I bet!!!! What the blinker fluid was low? cigerette lighter not hot enough? muffler bearings making noise, due fo a oil change. Not enough tint in the windows?, needed a wash.
  19. Anybody else starting to wish Mi was Right to Work? NOPE!!!
  20. Maybe you need to look at the Harbour reports then, what will be your excuse then, 5-6-10 yrs ago this wasnt even a issue. Gm/Ford have healthcare and pension issues that they pay, unlike the imports. Thats the real issue period. Another question, do you work or have you worked at a Autoplant????
  21. Dumbest thing in the whole post. Actually the whole post was stupid. Yup if them damn Uaw people would only make $10hr think of all the useless gadgets we could stuff in there. Is Wal-mart that bad jeez.
  22. EXCELLENT POST!!! To bad you will get more people bashing you then agreeing with you. Another problem is the ME-ME syndrome, and the I have zero pride in what I do syndrome. People go to work and Ford owes them the world. Yet they put in about 50%. And all the a-holes driving their new foriegn cars into a Ford lot to go to work are telling everyone F-you. They should be the first ones fired period.
  23. Sounds like a loose battery cable, my Mustang did the exact same thing. My daughters Monte Carlo same thing and my old Buick. The differance between me and you, I know what to look for and repaired it in about 30 seconds. I guess I should of came on here and cried and called them all pieces of shit and contacted a attorney. Unbelievable!!!!
