  1. I am actually more a Ford guy than chevy ,I know its a 06 Tahoe with a 5.3 not sure about the 6 speed , 5 speed comes to mind on tranny ,just got the vehicle the other day I have driven it once so this is just my opinion on my first ride/driveof the vehicle. Good luck to those RED WINGS San Jose is no joke Detroit has there hands full
  2. I did not intend to make it a Ford /Chevy thing it is simply the 2 vehicles we own . Yes there are alot of variables and yes I have done some figuring ,it was just a simple question why chevys seem to have a little more pep than the Fords . My Ford seems to be flat ,just a seat of the vehicle observation .I am sure I am not the only who would agree
  3. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I have a 2005 150 Crew 4x4 Lariat with the 5.4 . Question is I now have 21,000 miles on it and I am not impressed with the power at 14 to 15 mpg. My wife has a Tahoe at 17 mpg with the 5.3 it that has alot more pep than my 150 can anyone explain or have a idea ? comments ,questions or suggestions ?
  4. Well after a few trips to a new dealer still No Expedition for the wife yet . I am getting killed on the trade a 04 Eddie Bauer Explorer 40,000 miles in good condition they are willing to give me anywhere from 12,900 to 14,500 I would have thought I could get more but Thats it . I even tried to deal on a 06 Expedition loaded XLT with all the options we needed but no deal they wanted to pay 499 a month for 6 years on a leftover I could have added $40 to the payments and got in a 07 . I sure hope they are willing to do a little better deal here soon or else I might not be able to get the wife into a Expedition over the Tahoe . DOes anyone know what the 06 Expedition hade for rebates the dealership would not tell me ,all they said was that Ford gave them the rebates ? I hope the prices or incentives will get better the dealers were telling me they are not selling to fast sorrry for rambling but I cant even think straight after vsiting these dealerships of late my brain is fried
  5. Nice post ,dont you just wish Ford would send out people to check out there dealerships . Kinda like the surprise shopper you never know when or who it may be ,maybe then everyone would get a good experience
  6. I am located in Massachusetts
  7. Welll went to the Ford dealer and the wife drove the Expedition personally I think they are better than the Tahoe ( but I am FORD) she could care less . She went to drive then we got roped into sitting in the dealership for 2 hours ,she told them what she wanted for a deal sales guys says we will try to meet the number and if in fact they did reach the desired number would she buy th Ex ove r the Tahoe she stated lets see the numbers first . Sales manager says we will call you back that night 2 days later still no call on the deal I wish they could change the way dealers play these games . I myself have had 7 fords to date between me and the wife so I try to get the wife to stay in a Ford and Now I have to deal with a Dealership that does not even call me back (good or bad ) is it just me or does anyone else have this trouble
  8. Thankyou very much alot of features I have not researched she is going to drive the EX hopefully today at least now I can point some importent things out to her Thanks again great info
  9. I am looking into upgrading the wifes Explorer she has driven the Tahoe and Loved it . The question I have is will she love the Expedition as much on a test drive she is very set on the Tahoe ? ANy good or bad info that you can shed on this to help me out ? The only reason I would get the Tahoe is the Warranty
  10. If you can get a 07 cheaper than a 06 its a no brainer ,I just wonder how Ford can get rid of these 06's its gonna be a huge discount
  11. I would wait for the 07 , the 06 is already a leftover in my book the 07 should be here shortly so basically you are going to pay full sticker for a 1 year old vehicle . I would also hold off to see if they discount the 07 Explorer versus 06 like they have discounted the Expeditions with the MSRP being lowered Good Luck
  12. http://www.thedieselstop.com/ Plenty of info here for you
  13. Dont get me wrong I do not mind a business making some money ,thats what makes the world go round but lets just cut to the BS when they have employee pricing there is no back and forth with the dealers thats it what you see is the price .Without employee pricing there is alot of BS with the dealer I like what I have heard about the new EX's dropping the MSRP so maybe this is the future make the MSRP the bottom line no BS you know what you are going to pay up front . As far as Ford and what they make on a vehicle I would love to know the bottom line of what it cost them to make a vehicle and how much profit they really make ( not just a guess actuall facts ) I FEEL YOUR PAIN I have a 04 Explorer also EB I know what you are feeling
  14. If you dont like the conversation dont post or it let alone dont read it Get over yourself Point taken Thanks
  15. Great than if that is the only reason then I could get top dollar for my trade if Ford stopped incentives
  16. Exaclty like you said Ford is trying to make the biggest profit and screw the working person so Bill can line his pocket and laugh all the way to the bank .Why as the American public should we pay full price ,American vehicles don't hold S*** for a trade or resale value but yet foreign vehicles have a higher resale and better trade value (ask any dealer they will say almost the same thing) So basically I am suppose to pay full price ,then get screwed when I go to purchase a new vehicle because I payed 40,000 for the new car and only 1 year later the vehicle is worth 26,000 on a trade GREAT DEAL I am glad they are getting all your money I in turn will try to keep as much in my pocket as I can
  17. Maybe DCX is not a bad idea
  18. Ford does not loose money on employee pricing (are you that blind to see this) they just make a good chunk of money on us when we buy on the regular market price
  19. Great job Ford with the new incentives ,a little smoke and mirrors take $500 off here and put it there . DO they think people are dumb they are the exact same incentives as last month al least on the models I looked at this is Ford in a nut shell :titanic: :titanic: :titanic: Bring back Employee Pricing and the vehicles will fly off the lots
  20. Sorry to hear about the loss of your job , let me guess Ford took care of you (a loyal worker ) just like everyone else . Good luck in the job hunt I wish you the best . Bill Ford needs to look at more than just making a BUCK ,but it happens everywhere piss on the little guy as long as management :blah: looks good
  21. Tahoe gets 21 mpg WOW maybe its time for me to look elsewhere for my SUV's , thats alot of savings at the pump versus the 14 to 15 I get with the Ford
  22. I have noticed lately that there are alot of SUV's still on the dealer lots , with gas prices hurting alot of people it is apparent that SUV sales are in a tale spin . My advice would be to put better incentives with the great financing to hopefully clear the 06's before the 07's get there . Will the gas crunch kill the SUV or can people still afford the gas guzzling SUV in these times?
  23. AC is fine no problems there. Ceramic is the way to stop the dust ,I figured that might be the way but had to ask anyways Thanks
  24. I have a 05 F-150 Lariat so far everything has been good . The one problem I have is keeping the wheels clean ,the constant brake dust is a never ending problem . Clean the wheels on Monday and by Wednesday they look like S**T . Does anyone have a soloution or done anything to keep brake dust down
  25. I would love to see a deal like that I would by it on the spot
