just another note...i thought they would want to use the remaining plants at 100% capacity..wasnt that the game plan??? how are they going to do that by not giving chicago another car if they arent running 100% capacity with the 3 they are building right now?

All I have to say is in this dog eat dog world we have to do what it takes to survive...and if it means giving concessions so we can get another vehicle to build, I say so be it! As long as we have a chance to see what these concessions are and have a vote on it!

Does anyone have any idea where the new lincoln sedan based on the 500/montego platform is going to be built? Those of us at chicago assembly are hearing that we aren't going to be building it. Anyone? Anyone? Bueller??

Just a question...are you guys really installing a D platform line in Oakville? and if you are did they say anything to you about possibly building the new lincoln sedan based on the 500/montego platform?

Latest rumor flowing at Chicago Assembly is that they are looking to layoff 100...just want to know if any closing plants are getting any relocation offers to come to Chicago Assembly? Let the fun begin! :happy feet:

Any idiot can see that GM and Delphi are just trying to get their ducks in a row for when the strike happens...and like always...they are behind schedule trying to get the overseas suppliers making the parts fast enough to cover their asses for the BIG ONE ELIZABETH!!! The U.A.W. isn't going to have any legs to walk on in this one because all the extensions are giving GM and Delphi more time to get their shit together...so basically a strike is going to be worthless...and everyone will lose jobs...STRIKE NOW IF YOU WANT TO MAKE A POINT!!!!! :shrug:

Well just so you people aren't kept in the dark...i don't know about downtime...but our product specialists are in detroit making improvements to the cars we are making now...mostly cosmetic changes that will make the cars look a little more appealing (sp?) that was straight from the horses mouth. The said NOTHING about the new lincolns we are supposedly getting...they havn't seen em..all they are doing is working on what we are making now...so cross your fingers that the folks at ford are making these cars more attractive to the eye and not so bubble looking :unsure:

They are covering their asses so quality doesnt stumble...they know just as well as we know that pissed off workers build piss poor cars...just a fact of life...

And this is exactly the reason why sitting on their asses and not striking right away will let delphi get the wage concessions they want. I know their are alot of reasons why they couldnt strike right away but now the UAW edge has been lost..even if there is a strike now...gm has got the backup plan up and running and can and will be able to produce if there is a strike. I see us losing our middle class way of life in the very near future folks......better prepare now!!! :unsure:
