Nope. Everything comes down the line at the same time time. I may be wrong but I think we build them in the order the orders come into the plant.

Not the real John Lindsey...

40 hours, base your life on 40 hours and youll never need to work OT.
except 40 hours does not go as far as it did 10 years ago....

Personally I would rather see a two door full size Bronco than a small unibody Bronco and by that I mean put a Bronco body on an F150 regular cab chassis.
So, a two door expedition then....cause thats what they are...just with an independent rear suspension instead of a solid rear axel. The Bronco never died...it morphed into the expedition...Thats why I think the new Bronco will be mid-size or smaller.
I have a feeling that what ever comes out of MAP will be compact. I'm still leaning towards transit connect based, only because I think Ford needs somewhere state side to build them...But these are just my opinions and opinions are like....

That's not true. Only difference between the two is KCAP builds all 8ft beds, DTP builds all Raptors.
Lots of retail orders araare filled by KCAP.
I think we (DTP) are the only one producing the Platinum and I'm not sure if KCAP got any King Ranch production back. Last model the Platinum/Raptor were DTP only and the King Ranch was KCAP only (as well as all 8' boxes) who knows the mix now...All I know is there are a lot of high end trucks rolling past me every night...

Pioneer, sincerely, that sounds like COMPLETE lack of foresight....a real WTF moment..."uhhhhhhhhhh, we ran out of frames......"......lol.....of all things...the frame!!!!!!!!!!!!
Trust me...We are all like "WTF???"... And we started running regular cabs again this week.

If its the bars I'm thinking of, they are not welded on and I think they are just for the 4X4.
-
Regular cab, 6.5' box, 4X4, sport package (more or less STX), 5.0L, spay in liner, soft top tonneau, tail gate step....$35,910

Is the F150 significantly higher than comparably equipped GM, Ram, Tundra, or Titan trucks? I'm asking because I honestly don't know.
Starting price: (Regular cab, 4X2, base package)
Ram: $26,105
Silverado:$27,365
Tundra: $29,610
Titan (does not offer regular cab):$29,640
F-150: $25,800
Top of the line: (crew cab, 4X4, top trim level)
Ram: $53,930
Silverado: $52,735
Tundra: $44,435
Titan: $44,955
F-150: $54,775
So the F-150 is the cheapest and the most expensive...

The plant is on break at 9:30, 11:30 and 2:30 for a half hour each, so you won't get to see any of the cool stuff. give the museum at least 2 hours. I can't speak to the village, I haven't been there since I was in 3rd grade.
We do tag relief. Plant starts up at 6am and runs till lunch at 11:50. Starts up again at 12:20 and runs till shift ends at 4:30. Afternoon shift starts at 5:30.

What if it's a robot that has no pride in it's work? Unplug it?
Thats what we did to the robots that were supposed to shoot the box bollts...They couldn't keep up with the line speed...

are the bumpers mounted to brackets or the frame itself?....I have no idea, and crawling underneath in a dress shirt and tie isn't on the books...
The bumpers are mounted on brackets that are welded to the frame.
-
the bumper is put on by a worker with a hoist before the body is dropped. Its secured by automation after the body is on.
That's a quick way to get fired. You ship what management tells you to.
^^^^ This right here...

I was under the impression the whole panel would be replaced. I had the side panel replaced on my 04 and they had it a week. Take the old panel off and weld the new one on. With the 15 it would just be a matter of rivits and bonding agent...

Bobby - don't believe everything you read.
This right here...I read where someone had stated that 1000 trucks burnt up...Funny, I never noticed a firebomed wasteland outside the plant (well maybe to south where the steel mill is)...Haters going to hate and for some reason post fake info all over the internet...
-
sure, why not
-
too much tech talk...I'm off to bed...

We just had new hires come into DTP last week. I think more are coming in when we get back.
-
nope...every vehicle on that train is being destroyed...
-
-
team leaders and tag relief from all three crews will come in for a week of training during the changeover. When everyone comes back we will be split into two shifts, and will run a ramp up for two weeks.

At KCAP our problem is medical restricted new hires. If managent tries to put them on a job they run to medical. These are people with less than 2 or 3 years
Hell we got people with less then 3 MONTHS doing that at DTP.....
-
It sounds like Fields wants to continue Raptor production at Kansas City after Dearborn shuts down for changeover.
I've heard before that the Raptor can't go through the system at KCAP...Which could be why our production has more or less doubled...Use to be 3 or 4 an hour, now we are doing about 8 or 9...

That would be chassis line 5. It's not so much moving backwards, it's more that the skillets don't get turned around to move forward.
