  1. Lets hope your kid doesn't get the flu on a friday, and you miss Friday and Monday caring for him/her because for the rest of the year if you miss a friday or a monday you are awol.

That is a pretty shitty policy.

I do not believe this policy was put in place because of poor attendance. This policy was put in place as a money saving measure so that Ford Motor Company could lessen their workforce even more by not having to employ TPT workers to cover those days.

In the last 2 years I can not remember one single day that the Chassis final line at DTP did not start up on time because of poor attendance. Not counting Acts of GOD.

Note: I have had perfect attendance the last two years so I am not biased.

  2. I love AWS. On average you are working a little over half of every month.... Long weekends every week if on A crew or B crew,

At Dearborn truck, if we were not working AWS do any of you think for one second that we would not be working 6 days a week every week???? Especially now with the Launch of the new F150 they would have the 2 crew system running minimum 11 or 12 hours a day for 5 days and 8 hours on saturday......

  3. Next topic??

Same topic. The question was when was our last raise, not when was our last Bonus. Also your math is not my math, your Bonus is in the minority, your overtime is not even close to the average Ford workers overtime therefore your numbers are askew to what regurlar line workers gross.

Posts like yours are what makes the Public think that Ford workers make way too much money and are greedy for trying to get more from the company.

I will make 65K this year, I am very happy that i will make that money, I am very thankful that i will make that money, in the same regard that is close to the same amount of money I have been making for the last ten years.

Now, if you would like to do the math, try to calculate how much money YOU would have made with a 3% raise per year over the last 10 years. I suspect that it would be > then what you make now with your awesome "Bonuses".

  4. I rarely see managment working (I work on days Chassis 6/7 relief), I would love to see one working and would write them up in an instant if I saw it.

As for FMLAs, now this is a crap shoot. I know people who abuse them weekly and screw over the rest of the team. I have a headache, I am going home. Amazingly my kid gets sick at school every thursday, i am going home. It's supposed to be 90 degrees today?? Screw that I am going home via fmla.

If i get a headache, i take an asprin, If i want a thursday off, i use personal time, If it is gonna be a hot day I dress accordingly and stay hydrated, if my kid is feeling under the weather I have a back up plan so I do not have to miss work.

  5. I have a complaint at DTP

I come to work, do my job get paid very well at nearly $30 per hour, the best benefits of anyone I know, union protected job security and 3 days off a week. I made the most money ever last year, more than any year ever with the least amount of overtime. I am treated with respect by management and I treat people the same way. I'm no doormat as I raise legitimate issues and get them resolved on my own or with the union if needed.

Whom do I complain to about this terrible set of circumstances?

Damn!! I have the same problems as this guy!!!!!

  6. People working 80 hours in one plant shouldn't get more then people working 40 hours in another plant. You worked the OT and got paid. Many are not in that position and are limited to only 40 hrs a week. Profit sharing should be split between all workers fairly. This idea that you were "determined" and sat on your hi-lo 20 hours more per week then the line worker is a crock of shit.

    Applying your logic:

So in this case we get a guy who works 1 week a year, then goes on medical for the rest of the year, and he should get the same amount you do. I don't think so.

  7. Ford salaried workers will receive both merit raises and bonuses this spring for the first time since 2008, reflecting the automaker's growing financial strength.

Letters went out last week to about 20,000 salaried workers around the world with the good news, spokeswoman Marcey Evans confirmed.

The 2.7% base salary increases will take effect April 1, according to the letter obtained by the Free Press. Ford declined to discuss the size of the white-collar bonuses. The amount is based on performance and financial metrics that are still being calculated.

Last year, the average Ford salaried worker received a bonus equal to 15.5% of his salary, according to Sean McAlinden, an economist with the Center for Automotive Research.

Senior executives, including President and CEO Alan Mulally, Executive Chairman Bill Ford and Mark Fields, president of the Americas, received bonuses greater than their salaries, according to Ford's 2011 proxy statement. Mulally has said Ford's pretax operating profit for 2011 will exceed 2010's $8.3 billion.

Last year, Ford salaried workers received bonus checks, but no merit raises. In 2010, they received only merit pay raises. There were no raises in 2009.

Ford paid its UAW workers a profit-sharing check that averaged $5,000 in March 2011 for the company's 2010 results.

Last year, Ford withheld merit raises because management determined compensation for its white-collar workers was competitive with 23 other companies Ford had benchmarked, including General Motors.

The increased compensation is "in line with Ford's commitment to provide competitive base salaries and profitable growth for all," Fields said in the letter.

Salaried bonuses are tied to a complicated formula that factors in such metrics as profits, market share, cost and quality.

Ford is expected to release its fourth-quarter and full-year financial results later this month.

Salaried bonuses are paid under the company's Annual Incentive Compensation plan. The global plan covers about 20,000 employees in the U.S. and Canada, as well as managers in other parts of the world.

Ford is also increasing the amount it matches in employees' Savings and Stock Investment Plans, the letter says.

In 2010, Mulally received a $9.45 million cash bonus on top of his $1.4 million salary.

Bill Ford received a $2.7 million cash bonus to augment his $1.4 million salary, compensating in part for declining a salary from 2005-07.

Fields was paid about $1.34 million in salary and given a $3.6-million cash bonus in 2010.

Are you trying to say that Salary do not deserve raises? If so, why not?

  8. our bodies

will continue to get beat down

    Your body.

My body is fine working the AWS, I take good care of it.

Maybe you're a fatty or in bad shape or both, but I am not, and the AWS work schedule doesn't affect me any worse then the 5 day workweek.

  9. I'd like to thank all those that voted in the recent contract ratification vote. If we got that percentage of voters in general elections voting we might have a truly Representative Government!

In a free and thriving democracy in our republic people have the right to differ, and vote in a way that reflects those differences. We ain't in China, is what I'm saying.

I respect those of you who voted "No". It's your right as an American and as a UAW brother or sister. Also, having read the various posts presented here on the BOF, I truly believe that some of you have convictions that won't allow you to accept the signing bonus, quality bonus, profit share, etc.

That's where I come in. :shades: I'm more than willing to take that dirty money off your hands, saving you the degradation of being offended by such a piddling offer.

If you are truly offended by the free money being sent your way because of the outstanding negotiations by our elected leaders, I believe that we can work something out!

I believe there is some way to contact me directly through this web site. If not please leave a message/answer on this thread and I'd love to connect you to a worthy charity, if this money, for which YOU have done NOTHING, truly offends you. :ninja:

    In Solidarity,

    A soldier for peace,

    A sailor for sanity,

    A Marine for morality,

    An Airman  against a'holes!!!!!!

    Mine Truly,

    Davey B.

    :victory:

    Your attempt at humor rating:

  11. A petition can be signed by the membership to change the election laws, this will eliminate the nepotism and cronyism that's going on at the top of our food chain.

If 51% of the membership can sign a petition to change the election laws, our leaders at the top can then be elected every contract.

Lets take control of this boat before we sink like the Titanic.

    Idiotic post

  12. If this vote passes according to the contract agreement in 2013 our healthcare stops and we will be forced to pay for Cobra. This is because of Obama Care our only hope is that it is repealed or that MI gets a waiver. Remember what your voting for...... Your future.

Is 5K (3100.00) after taxes worth your future's healthcare? It's not mine..

    I had to vote no.

You are a liar and can not read.

  13. This type of scare tactic shouldn't be allowed from the IUAW, if I knew who you were I would file a bi-law violation on you and have you removed from your cushy chair down at international. I hope this contract doesn't pass so I can hear you all come back in here and complain.

    Truth hurts I guess?

    Stop Whining.

  14. When this passes, it will be the beginning of the end! Its not about the money...its about them under mining us! Once they get they're 2 tier people in place over the next 4 years......next contract is when Alan and his crew will drop the hammer on us! So all this bonus money(that yall think is just wonderful) we'll be gettin... better save it to make up the difference in ur paycheck/benefits we'll be losing next contract!

I VOTED NO AND PROUD OF IT!

When this passes, IT WILL BE A GOOD DAY!...it's not about the money...it's about them ADDING UAW JOBS AND BRINGING PRODUCT TO THE USA! Once they get their two tier people in place over the next 4 years...next contract is when Alan and his crew will HAVE TO REWARD US FOR MAKING FORD MORE PROFITABLE AND ERASING THEIR DEBT TOTALLY! So all this bonus money that we all think is wonderful SPEND OR SAVE IT WISELY, BECAUSE WE ALL EARNED IT! And everybody look forward to four more years of quality workmanship that is gaining us market share and public support!

I VOTED YES AND PROUD OF IT!

  15. Let me get this straight...

You voted NO Even on the contract that you yourself negotiated?

So, in essence you are either a horrible negotiator, you are afraid of the word yes, or you can never be satisfied?

    I don't understand.

What I do understand is that when I was on Strike in the early 1990s (UFCW) for 9 weeks we ended up coming back to work for less then what we were offered in the first place.

I experienced that, It almost destroyed my family. The deal we are offered now compared to what the average joe is making is great.

    I vote YES
