  1. I really don't see a reason not to bring this over, although I'm not pumped about its manufacturing location. It is obvious that it will be lacking in trunk space as the Renegade, Trax, and HRV are approximately 7 to 10 inches longer than it respectively. But if it doesn't cost much to do, why not throw it out there until the next Gen is available. I think it's a decent looking small suv. It's about the same size as a Mini Countryman so it has that going for it.

  2. I see there are some midsize truck supporters here. My comments aren't meant to disparage you or the truck really, as I may consider a ranger for my son when the time comes. I guess I should have looked at it from a manufacturer's standpoint, and how it pertains to their lineup. Looking at the dimensions of a Chevy 1500 ext/cc with a size of 230"L x 80"W verses a Colorado at 213"-225"L x 74"W, there can be a noticeable difference in length and a 6" difference in width. I would guess the most commonly purchased model is the longer configuration of the Colorado. I don't have the numbers to back that up, but that is what I would buy. Ultimately I just don't feel like there is a large difference in dimensions between the two, and I would have liked them to be smaller, closer to the size of the original Ranger.

This doesn't mean I don't believe they should bring out the new Ranger, to the contrary, the more Ford trucks the better. So for those of you that want one, I hope they bring it to you soon, because as a person waiting for a new Expedition/Nav I can feel your pain.

  3. I don't really understand the desire to buy 7/8th of a truck. The midsized truck baffles me. I understand the the concept of the previous generation of the Ranger, as it was a compact pickup, but these current midsized trucks are truly not that much smaller than their fullsized counterparts.

  4. I respectfully disagree that the 2007 Expeditions interior was a poor design nor the exterior for that matter. As a previous owner of a 2007 we really enjoyed that vehicle for three years. It was my wife's daily driver, and she loved to drive it. We thought the interior was well laid out and attractive, so I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder. The only reason that we didn't buy another one was because they never changed it from that point forward, so we wenpt from that to a Buick Enclave and subsequently an explorer. Now we want to go back to a full size and it's still basically the same vehicle which is really unfortunate. Now it looks like we will have to buy a GMC as a stopgap measure until the new Expedition comes out, which is really disappointing to me. I like what I'm seeing so far, but Ford has been really slow with this redesign.

  5. This is a sales strategy that Hyundai employed to help move their cars. I think it is debatable whether that has led to Hyundai's success, or if it has more to do with building cars/CUVs that the public was interested in buying.

With that said, the truck market is a different beast. Truck buyers are a very loyal group. As a person that buys a new truck every three years or so, this tactic would never impact my decision, and not because I generally do not exceed the factory warranty of my trucks. I don't even consider purchasing anything but Ford trucks because they have always treated me good, and I believe they have the most compelling products.

  6. I would surely think this dealership would have cameras installed. If not, that's a shame. Even if they don't capture the smoking gun, they can capture enough to analyze against other video footage from the surrounding area, which is a very effective tool.

On another note, does the status of these vehicles change since the oem wheels were removed? Not suggesting salvage by any means, but new/other or something?
