Escalade sells 100% on name.  Navigator offers way more especially in the 2nd row for creature comforts, but Escalade outsells it by a huge margin.

That is an unfortunate fact, considering the Navigator invented the segment.

  2. The styling of the Escalade is not for me.  I find it to be very bland.  The Yukon and the Tahoe are both much more interesting to look at, particularly the Yukon. Based on the three models, I feel like you are only buying the Escalade to say you bought the most expensive model.

I personally love the way it looks, it's sexy as hell. The wing is a little too big, but it serves a purpose. Is 300k a lot of money? Of course, but relative to the level of performance this car offers, it's a bargain. Keep in mind this thing is literally going to be beating million dollar exotics for a third the price, that's not just speculation either. Ford says it can run the run in well under 7 mins, that puts it above the 918 and p1. I'm willing to bet this car will beat the Ford gt around most tracks as well, given it's massive areo and power advantage.

i understand where you are coming from, that this vehicle will have top of the line performance, and I don’t doubt that, but it just doesn’t appeal to me otherwise.  As you have pointed out, the garish wing doesn’t help matters, but it has its purpose. I might like the car more if it didn’t have that.

  4. Obviously, Buick is using the same design language across all their vehicles. When I first saw the Envista, I thought it was pretty sharp for an inexpensive vehicle, but I don’t necessarily think the design language translates as well to the larger vehicles.

It’s not terrible, but it’s not great either. As others have stated, the interior looks very nice though.

I still think the GTD looks ridiculous and is still "just" a Mustang.

For the price, there are several other options I'd consider before it.

Agreed. This car just does not appeal to me.  I like Mustangs, but not at this price tag.  Maybe it’s just me being an old timer, because my son likes it.

I just don’t look at this car and think wow. I have to have that.  Even though it may be badass on the road/track It just doesn’t raise any passion in me.  If I were to pay a price like that I would also need to love the way the car looks.

  6. This is actually a disappointment for me.  The TRD version looks ok, but the blue one looks very meh.  I thought this would be a mini Land Cruiser, which was a solid effort, but this is a miss.

With that said, it’s a Toyota, so it will sell whether it’s good or bad, especially since it’s a complete redesign.

Eh.  The Everest, like most AUS designs it seems, looks a generation old. It looks like a Durango with a Ranger front clip. It would lead to confusion with Explorer and Expedition sales, and add marginal sales.

A fixed roof Bronco makes more sense.

The new Land Cruiser is the first Toyota in a long time that I liked the look of.

It’s interesting that you say that because I have had a number of friends who know I’m a Ford fan ask me about it after seeing pics of it, saying they like it.  So you may thinks old looking, but there will be people that like it.

I personally don’t think it would confuse anyone as it does not resemble any of those vehicles.  That’s what your marketing department is for.  Hyundai seems to manage similar vehicles in the same market segments, so I don’t see why Ford couldn’t.

In respect to your comment, isn’t that basically what the 4Runner is?  An old design that people still buy.  The work is already done in the Everest, so incremental sales could be acceptable.

But not everybody cares about removable tops or doors and they just like the styling.  I once cross shopped a Lincoln LS sedan, Mustang GT convertible and a Mercury Cougar coupe.  I just wanted something fun to drive.  Ended up with the LS V8.

Which is why it would be great if they would bring the Everest here to compete with the 4Runner.  Seems like it would be a no brainer since it’s a platform mate and there’s room in the lineup for it.

I own a bronco and I would definitely cross shop a 4Runner. They are just different niches in the off-road vehicle market. The removable roof was not a factor in the purchase of my bronco, I just like the looks.

I like what I see so far on the 4Runner. Hope the front is more Land Cruiser than Tacoma, but I don’t think that will be the case.

i understand your perspective, but for me, I just don’t see it. I would not cross shop these vehicles, because a vehicle with removable parts has considerations that a vehicle without does not.

The new Land Cruiser does look pretty good, especially for a Toyota, so I’m with you on the design cues from the 4Runner.

If a base engine is necessary in the Mustang for CAFE reasons, I think the 2.7 eco would have been great.   It is smoother than the 4, sounds better and can get excellent mileage with appropriate gearing.

Speaking of sound, the biggest thing I disliked about my Gen2 raptor was its sound. The truck was really good in every way except for that. Now with my Gen3 with the same motor, I can’t say that anymore.  Don’t misunderstand, I would much prefer to have a raptor R for the power and sound, but at that price point it probably isn’t happening anytime soon. I would dare to say that Ford has managed to make the V6 sound good, and I’m more than content with the base motor.

Based on my experience with the Gen3, I imagine they probably could find a way to make the four-cylinder sound significantly better if they wanted to.

Thats pretty stupid considering it’s faster than a 98 V8 Cobra.

I think the primary expectation of a Mustang is it should have a V8 and its corresponding sound with respect to the muscle car history even though there have been four and six cylinder versions in the past.

With that said the Eco is a great engine with excellent performance that would likely be respected if it were in anything other than a Mustang.  My 22 year old son scoffs at the 4 cylinders even though they offer a lot of bang for the buck.

When my g/f was shopping for a car I made a large list of crossovers and included it my list.  She hated it though said it was hideous.

True, there are a lot of dumb people. Anyways, back to the topic of the mustang, and how they could expand on it, I'd love to see an AWD hybrid. That would be perfect for people who wanted something slightly more fuel efficient, while being fast as hell, with the added benefit of being better suited for slippery conditions. Maybe give it a slight lift kit to make it more practical and call it a raptor or something.

What are some additions to the s650 lineup that you guys would want to see?

I think a hybrid and AWD options would really broaden the appeal of the Mustang, particularly AWD.  I think there is a fair amount of apprehension in the cold belt for purchasing a rear wheel drive vehicle for a primary vehicle.

I would really like to see a mid-engine mustang variant that competes with the C8.  Something that is in the same price range as the C8, so an average person may be able to afford it.

Guessing its the Buick version of the Trax.

That’s what I was figuring as well.  They are built in South Korea if my memory serves me correctly.  I would really like to know what the profit margin is on these models.

I've seen a couple of them on the road.  They do look good, though they bizarrely have the brake lights illuminate in the bumper rather than the upper taillights.

I’ve seen this on a number vehicles, and it is a poor idea  IMO. It can be difficult to see in tight traffic. The Koreans seem to like that concept.

  15. I’ve been seeing ads for this vehicle recently, didn’t recall any discussion about it.  I personally find it to be a very attractive SUV. After looking it up  I was shocked to see its starting price to be $23,495, considering how it looks. The only thing that I found to be disappointing was the single motor option being a max 136 hp 3 cylinder.  Considering they make an ST version of this vehicle, it would’ve been nice if they had a second motor option with a little more “sport” in it.   Nevertheless, I find it to be a very nice entry-level vehicle.

Dude my maverick hybrid gets 15 mpg during colder weather drives of a few miles if it doesn't have time to properly warm up. All propulsion types are less efficient in the cold.

Give me a break!  I’ve NEVER had my range cut in half due to cold on any ICE vehicle I have had, unlike my Mach E I have been driving.  I’’m not an EV hater, but perhaps it’s you who should stop with the misinformation.

Not to mention it's a direct response to one of the main criticism's EVs have. That they don't hold up well when exposed to a wide array of diverse conditions and terrains. This shows that EVs can handle anything a reasonable person is gonna throw at them. It's not exactly exciting news, but it's crucial to start to more actively push back against the misinformation on EVs if brands want to start selling more of them.

What is not misinformation is your range being cut in half in cold conditions.  That is a fact based on my personal experience, and it sucks.
