Bluecon may want to fix his quote from Henry Ford. The fact that you would mess up a quote like that may show that you have NO idea what you're talking about.

Let me fix that quote for you........

"There are two kinds of people in the world. Those who think they can and those who think they can't. And they're both right."

There, you are free to continue bashing, now that I fixed your obvious mistake. :happy feet:

The quote is accurate. Do you think it is possible that both quotes are accurate? Perhaps there is more than one quote from Henry Ford? Your first post and you are already wrong. It will be very difficult for you to match my 97.6% accuracy rate.

  2. Tundra sales up 74%. Maybe Toyota does know what they are doing.

  3. Of course you do.

Well most of the blame for this goes back to Stuttgart. Hybrids were considered a waste at one point in time, and maybe in the long run they are right. But ya'd think they would've at least developed diesels to power a few Chrysler CARS.

    FAIL

Why on gods green earth, when NO ONE has a hybrid minivan and Chrysler is supposedly the LEADER when it comes to 'em did they not develop a hybrid version of the Town and Country/Caravan?

They have diesels in cars. Go to Europe and you can buy a 300 with a diesel.

Build a hybrid and lose money.

  4. Bluecon, would you please start showing up more than once a month when monthly sales are posted. We miss you!

Kinda like going to the dentist for a root canal

It's nice to see some of you grasping at straws "bubububu......." only to come up with BS. I've had a considerable amount of drive time in an Edge, and it is a very nice vehicle especially for something as heavy as it is. Ford is 95% there with that vehicle.

Oh and please lets not use the Pacifica as an example. It never turned into the darling that Chrysler thought it would. The Freestar (which it competes with BTW) might not be all there interesting or a car for a speed freak, but when it comes to hauling people it has the Pacifica beat hands down.

I remember when they were launching the Pacifica and Zetsche was calling it a segment buster. Just before he said that Toyota would never outsell Chrysler in the USA.

  5. Not a story Genius. It is truth. Other than mis-interpreting data what involvement do you have in the auto industry that gives you any credibility? Your biases cloud common sense. Your posts are a waste of time.

PS Not to mention there are inventory issues which are now affecting sales rate of travel. I'm resorting to buying out of inventories thousands of miles from me. Hardly the trait of a failed vehicle.

Well I know the Ford dealer I bought my truck from provides abysmall service and from what I hear the other ones in town are no better. The dealers are the weakest link in the whole Ford system.

  6. I think that's all anyone is asking of you. You spout off the handle at the first sign of anything negative, despite the trends of the ENTIRE automobile market for the month. I mean hell, even Toyota's unadjusted numbers were DOWN for the month. Is Toyota now on the brink of bankruptcy according to the Bluecon Book of Economics?

Actually I think the genius of my posts is that I will make predictions and then watch them come true.

  7. Ok Blucon, give us a number. What do you think Edge sales will be. This way, if you are right, then there will be no way anyone can say you were wrong. But if your wrong, then you will be proven wrong.

Its easy to make general statements and they say "See, I was right" It wouldn't matter if the Edge outsold every other vehicle in its class, because you would just say, its a failure because it didn't outsell the Camry.

So put up or shut up. What's your number?

    I am right again.

    Quote Bluecon April 3, 2007.

"One decent month does not prove your case. The numbers look good for March, however I believe long term it will sputter. I think after this initial sales burst you will be looking at 7k a month. Not enough to profitably run a huge plant like OAC. The key thing for Ford is to get the Flex up and running."

  8. Dude (blucon),

From where I sit you are dead-ass wrong. I am a dealer so I'm probably way more qualified to comment on it's success or failure than you. I sold 3 of them just last saturday. Talk to the woman who picked up her platinum SEL and shed a tear as she told me it is the most beautiful vehicle she has ever seen. Your idiotic posts are no help to anyone in this forum. This vehicle is one of the hottest things going and Ford has a certified hit on it's hands. Sorry that makes you unhappy. But fact is fact.

Fact is sales were down almost 2k for the month. Nice story though.

  9. There's a reason it's built in a minivan plant. Because it's minivan based. The Edge is not.

The Pacifica isn't direct competition for the Edge. The Murano is.

Not true. It does not have the same chassis as the minivan.

"We outsold the Murano" does not make the Edge a success. Note: sales in March were almost 11k and sales in April are very close to 9k. Downward trend will continue next month.

  10. Edges. Not including MKXs.

And Oakville's capacity was NEVER to be fully utilized by the Edge only. They called for less than half.

Bec was wrong, just as you are.

So you think 9k a month is a succes? Barely outsold the Pacifica. And Chrysler builds the Pacifica as a extra vehicle in the minivan plant. The Edge will be lucky to crack the 100k barrier for the year.

    BEC was right.
