  1. I'm betting MKC's base trim is leatherette surfaces similar to the base Cadillac ATS.

I asked about the seating surfaces on their twitter account, but their marketing folks just skirted the question and sent me to the website (they probably don't even know, 3rd party companies mostly run these accounts)

Wrong Leather all the way. Didn't you read My Post. I install them NO Leatherette this Go round.

  2. From the Lincoln site it mentions Bridge of Weir leather available so it looks like that is the upgrade difference.

I still find it odd they haven't released many pics yet, not been a pic of the seats! Or the rear seats even. Same for the Black Label version, so hopefully next week during the LA show they will release more pics and info!

The Rear seat is a bench seat. On all the Ones I've seen so far

  3.

Your comment regarding Leather seats......are you saying even in base trim the MKC is fitted with real leather seats?

The model shown in the launch looks to be a top spec model with one of the Lincoln black, red, etc label options

Asked Yesterday Same Materials In Both Options Only Difference. The Lower option Has heated Seats And the Upper Option Has Heated and Cooled Seats, The Upper Has Tiny air holes in the Leather for the air to pass through. Hope this Helps Clear up the Leatherettte debate.

  4. The Seating profile is different than the Escape You sit Lower in the new Seats. It Shares none of the Escape Sheet Metal. The Fininsh on the inside is Way Nice wood Grain and all. Oh and push Button Shifting no Shifter On this One. And Yes Today is the Unveiling of it.

  5. New model parts are not stocked in the parts warehouses until well after launch. All available units are sent to the assembly plant, because more often than not, the parts plants have trouble ramping up production to meet the assembly plants needs.

Its not an excuse, its reality.

    BINGO!!!!!

  6. For the Record There is NO GIANT warehouse housing all the extra parts!! If there was we would not be running out of parts building them just about everyday. Venders are having a hard time keeping up with us let alone make extra parts right now!! And yes I have seen the oil leak in plant but won't go into further details here.

  7. Talk about a drama queen. All I said is when they batched and loaded the 1.6 EB probably even more than more proven 2.0, you would think someone would notice an oil leak or better yet fuel leak after driving the hell out of it during their tests right after build since both parts were later proven defective. When I drive my cars, I notice every little vibration, rattle, noise, and spotting on driveway except for water from condenser on these very hot days. Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if some disgruntled, inattentive, entitled employee missed the problems entirely. I know not all their employees are problem employees after the downsizing, but they are still there and it's naive to think they are still not there. You better believe Ford does internal scoring and ranking of its plants, and more than a couple times Ford has stated that Hermosillo is way ahead of others in productivity and quality. Fusion is consistently Ford's best quality vehicle year after year. Let's see how the new Fusion launch goes and compare it to LAP and MAP recent launches. Fricking sad.

As an LAP employee reading this I would LOVE to tell you how wrong you are on this!!! But i will take the high road and not say anything but, that you are ENTIRELY WRONG about the LAP workforce. So before you bash the workforce remember this, ALL WE can do is SHOW the problems, what Corporate Ford does with it another story.
