  1. I was thinking that but that would be too obvious to all the remaining shareholders....I thinking more along the lines of a private side deal with a third party to get the company's value down to next to nothing...(just about there now)....before scooping them up....
  2. Just a thought.....do you think that by mortgaging the whole business and doing a horrible Bold Moves job of steadying the sinking blue oval that Ford is somehow setting up the stage for a rival competitor to come in as a white knight and buy them for pennies on the dollar?...maybe Magna?
  3. well, this is my first posting...here goes........I was always told by my older brother growing up that pretty much whatever job you work at, whether it be the corner 7-11 store or one of our automotive manufacturing facilities, there is bulls*!# to be had and dealt with in each one and not to get caught up in the rhetoric of it. Now the fact that we, yes I'm a supervisor at STAP and I'll assume most others here are somehow tied in with a Ford income, make a heck of a lot more money than most bread winners of the world nowadays and should consider the glass half full when listening to all the negative comments flying around these days. Yes, Ford is in trouble and needs to restructure, that's a fact....who's fault is it?...well, there in lies the problem of the attitudes most of us have today....'we' always have to blame someone else for our misfortunes and mistakes....how often did we tell the company in our grandiois (spelling police forgive me if I spelled that wrong) foresight that we couldn't take the raises or bonuses because we knew that the company was being driven into the ground by upper management during the hey days of our SUV and truck sales? Or how many union members said no to more holiday time and guaranteed pay increases every year when it came time to ratify the contract?.....fair to say not one of us, including me, returned the cheque's unopened with a 'thanks but no thanks' on the envelope, or checked the 'no' vote box on the union/company agreements. I'm sure that everyone has their opinions and well-pointed details on why Ford management is the bad guy or why the UAW/CAW are the bad guys, and that's what makes this free world a wonderful place to live. Let's just move forward, stop pointing fingers, and accept the changes that lay ahead with a postive attitude. We can hope that those of us who do remain after Monday's announcement realize that these great paying jobs just don't exist anymore and appreciate what we do have now, and not continue to whine and whimper about what we had in the past. The times are changing fast and a positive outlook in life goes along way in making our workplace a better place to be. I still think the same now as a did when I first was hired back in '97 at STAP that I had won a lottery getting in at Ford....regardless of Monday's announcement, that will never change. Let's try and channel all of this 'passion' that everyone has been sharing on this website (good and bad) into doing our little part in making Ford the place to want to come to work to everyday......it's your choice. Thanks for taking your time to read my first post...be gentle.....peace. A Proud STAP Employee
