$50,000 is a hell of a lot of money for a mustang...

I think the supercoupe interior + power and torque of the SC 3.8 made it much better than any other cougar produced, save for the first gen... REALLY sucked when it was time to change the head gasket though

Offtopic, but I used to have a red 90 XR7 just like that one, god I miss that car

No, I don't think that... I'd just like to see ONE move in the right direction, lately all I've seen is the Fusion/"new Taurus"/Edge/Flex crap. Seems like the only Bold Moves are producing more cars that won't sell. I understand it takes years to produce new platforms and vehicles, but using existing platforms already used in much of the world will save much time. GM did it with their V platform in just a few years.

I have every right to call them Rustangs. I have an 06 that has squeaks, groans and rattles all over... and it's got less than 15k miles on it. On top of that I've got several buddies who have had major issues with their electrical systems. I'd rather own a ford with problems than a japanese ricebox, but I'd hope for a little better quality from a nearly $30,000 vehicle. As far as the GT500's selling... they're selling primarily to the 'deep pocket' crew and not people who actually want performance. Ask any car nut if they want a car that weighs over 2 tons for a race vehicle, and they'll laugh in your face. 500hp will get a fox body WELL into the 11's, average drivers are struggling to get mid 12's out of GT500's. It simply weighs too god damn much. Please though, feel free to correct anything you find out of place in my posts... if you can't take criticism than just sit back and watch Ford sink with the rest of the community. At least I'm trying to do something about it, even though it's in vain.

So the Shelby GT is a stupid idea as well then? My local dealer is charging 58K for one, and someone is stupid enough to do it. This isn't a tantrum, this is an honest opinion. If ford doesn't do a major turnaround with the vehicle lineup they currently have, they're going straight down the shitter. In fact, it's probably inevitable now.

the GTO was a very toned down version of the Monaro, and it would have sold better if it looked as aggressive: GM obviously learned their lesson though, seen as the 08 G8 I think americans in general are a very simple people, and we will take looks over quality/reliability... but when you have neither, what's the point? Brand loyalty will only go so far...

Ford Fairlane -5.4L V8 - ZF 6 speed manual Ford Falcon XR8 -5.4L V8 -6 speed manual or 6 speed auto Ford Ranger crew cab - 2.5L I4 and 3.0L I6 Powerstroke Diesel Ford Territory -Turbocharged 4.0L I6 - ZF 6 speed manual FPV GT-P - Turbocharged 4.0L I6 405 ft lbs - 5.4L V8 394 hp - 6 speed manual/6 speed auto with sequential shift FPV Pursuit - Turbocharged 4.0L I6 405 ft lbs - 5.4L V8 394 hp - 6 speed manual/6 speed auto with sequential shift FPV Typhoon - Turbocharged 4.0L I6 405 ft lbs - 5.4L V8 394 hp - 6 speed manual/6 speed auto with sequential shift FUCKING MEXICAN Focus ST - Turbocharged 2.5L 223 hp, 236 ft lbs - 6 speed auto - HIGHER TOP SPEED THAN OUR MUSTANG New Mondeo The rest of the world gets beautiful and powerful fords, we get GARBAGE like the Edge/bland focus/unchanged ranger/500... er taurus/flame-throwing superduty/unchanged crown vic, etc. We NEED a drastic change from the past couple decades, we keep the current and projected lineup there is no hope for Ford whatsoever. And if you call performance a 500 hp rustang that weighs well over 4000 lbs, there is something seriously wrong here... a base C6 vette will walk all over it, and dealers aren't literally raping customers with 20-50,000 markups on them. Hell, the local dealer to me is selling a Shelby GT for 58K... are you kidding me? The Ford name is now synonymous with SHIT quality, and people are going to have no reason to keep buying if you don't pull your heads out of your asses.
