NickF1011, What planet are you from? You totally missed my point. I was complaining about a piss-poor advert! You turned my post into a Ford vs. GM Debate.

A new ad campaign for V-6 Mustangs aimed at US and Euro market based on 1974 German Mercury 2800 cc Capri ads. Such an ad campaign might work for Japanese segment too.

The Carolina Beep Ad really makes me PUKE!! In fact, the ad makes me think that Ford wants to emphasize the cheeziness of an otherwise good fuel efficient product. Maybe if the ad exec wasn't doing so much coke with the blonde lead vocalist he ,or his supervisor, would realize this. GM has done well in the V-6 Ponycar arena , Ford should pay better attention as though they really cared about this niche.

Sorry, I'm new to this E-mail thing, What I was asking in my post was 1) Was there a change made in the design of the 3.8 headgasket that was causing premature failures and 2) why were owners of Windstar vans complaining ? I don't remember 3.8's having this problem. They would not have been in Lincoln Continentals had this problem been occurring. If I'm posting this in the wrong section then, point me in the right direction.

Read bunches of complaints about 3.8 engine failures due to premature head gasket failure but never the reason why. I worked on Taurus/Sables with these engines from 1990 to 1994 and never heard ,or read, of headgasket problems. Did Ford change the design and screw it up?
