  1. Congrats to them. Lot of happy Ranger owners out here because of them!!! ...was hoping to get 3-4 more yrs out of my '99 Ranger w/123K miles on it but decided to buy one of the remaining 2011 Rangers since I wouldn't been able to purchase another new one "then". Don't think Ford did a very smart thing here, but alas it's all about the numbers...
  2. ...I guess I thought this was an "Interference Engine" as the Haynes Manual says on page 2A-5, "...if the timing belts breaks during engine operation, EXTENSIVE damage may occur!!!". Wasn't sure after reading that. Thanks for the response.
  3. ...bought a new FOMOCO timing belt and water pump. Gonna do it soon. Owner's manual said it should be done at 120,000mi and I just now turned that. Been going over it in the Hayne's Manual a good bit. ...question I got is do these actually really need changed? I've talked to several 2.5 4 cyl Ranger owners that have 150k to 200k on their trucks and when I've inquired about ever having their timing belts changed they said "What timing belt?" ...just don't know "how much" of a hurry I should be in to change it? Wait til the water pump goes first?
  4. ...wow, am I taken aback by all this. I read many, many posts for a few hours last night on the allfordmustangs site and can hardly believe it. Was tinkering with the idea of ordering a 2011 or 2012 6spd GT, but now will hold off. Lot of horror stories out there on super low mileage cars-can't believe it, especially since Ford has been pushing quality so much now. Sure hope they get it together for all the owners. Even a couple of the YouTube videos showing drivability issues are disturbing. Sure hope Ford comes along with a good fix soon.
  5. ...can't find in either Haynes or owner's manual. Dome light, chime & door ajar warning light blink on and off during driving over rougher roads. Can it be adjusted? Is it in the door shell near latch or activated by the hinges? Thanks in advance.
  6. ...have seen the production number for 2006 "166,530" cars???
