  1. For me the axle I choose is based on current and future towing needs. I thinks in just everyday driving you would be perfectly happy with the 3.55, but my opinion is based on the fact that I have a 2010 Taurus SHO with the 3.5 ecoboost and this motor has Torque. I have not driven an ecoboost F150 just so you know. By the way, I assume you are military being where you are, and if so thank you for your service and all that you guys do to keep us safe.
  2. No problem, just airing my overall frustrations. Getting back on topic, I am trying to get my salesman to email the job 2 pdf to me so I can post it up, but he just preferred to print it for me. Regarding job2, things are really up in the air with the problem going on at both assembly plants regarding the pcm issue. We were on balls to the walls overtime and then last week all overtime cancelled and then last week they cancelled whole shifts, and now this week word of layoffs is coming up. We should still start job2 next week with the axles and then the assembly plant is 2-3 days after us to start production. However, this new issue could change all this. Also regarding job2, just because they start job2 doesn't mean they are ready to start running ecoboost. It is just that the ecoboost can't be built until there are job2 axles. Regarding myself, I have worked at the Ford Utica Trim plant building interiors for 7 years, Dearborn Truck Plant for 3 years in Final Assembly, and now Sterling Axle Plant building F150 axles. I also have family members at DTP currently. I only put up info that I am allowed to and have a good feeling that is actual info and not rumor to the best of my ability.
  3. Thank you for posting the confirmation of the 4.10 elocker. I have the printed job2 from my dealer and don't understand why nobody else can seem to get it from their dealer. I tried to scan and post the changes pages which is 2, but couldn't get it to work. It is really aggrivating when Ford employees come on this site to help customers out, and all they get is doubted. I posted this 4.10 option to give people a heads up because I actually physically build the axles for all the f150's and thought people might want to know before they get their order in. I know things at Ford change on a daily basis but we the employees at Ford just want to help the customer out by coming on this site and posting information. One thing I have learned is that the dealer is the last to find anything out. My salesman is calling me to find out what is going on with these trucks.
  4. Oh sorry, forgot Canada has differences than US. Did your dealer have the job 2 order guide? Thanks for the link, but the two asterisk next to the 4.10 say at the bottom of the page Raptor. The Raptor gets 4.10 elocker and all other trim levels with 6.2 get 3.73 limited slip. I would consider the 4.10 if it was an option.
  5. I ordered a 6.2 Lariat, but have been very curious about the 4.10 option thinking it was possibly for the 6.2 trucks other than Raptor. Where do you see the 4.10 as a option for the Harley or Limited? I went to build and price, and it wouldn't let me put it on either truck and looked again at the job 2 order guide and nothing in there. Just curious if you are seeing something I'm not. I did not ask how much the 4.10 option was. The dealer didn't even know the job 2 guide was out or about the 4.10. I just asked them to look it up. Your dealer should be able to look it up.
  6. If your order hasn't been scheduled yet, you can make changes to the order.
  7. I just test drove my dealers first 2011. It was a screw lariat 5.0. They got it in yesterday. Also, new info about the 4.10 elocker option! I had my dealer look to see if there was a job 2 order guide and sure enough it came out nov 30. He printed it up for me, and right on the axle page it list a 4.10 ELOCKER for ECOBOOST trucks. At the bottom of the page it says requires FX4 package with 20" wheels and max tow package. Also the mileage on the 5.0 truck they got in said 14city/19hwy. Thats only 1 mpg better than 5.4. I know it has more power though.
  8. No, I am trying to find that out myself as I am waiting on my order. I will post if I get any info from work.
  9. F150's are now shipping! I just recieved news from my brother at dtp that they have recieved the oktb which means ok to buy. They will start shipping immediately!
  10. Job 2 absolutely is for the ecoboost engines. I heard the ecoboost was breaking the job 1 pinion shafts and thats why they went to a thicker super duty size pinion shaft. Also the upgraded bearings are a precaution for the Raptors not that ford is having any problems but want to be cautious is what i was told. Job 2 upgrades will be on all 9.75 axles however. This 4.10 elocker is a last minute thing coming from ford. About three weeks ago we built about 10 axles for ford for mileage testing. Then we built about 20-30 more for more test trucks. This is not the same 4.10 elocker that is for the raptor 6.2. I was only told that the engineer thought it was a option for job 2 on the fx4 trim. Could it be an option for the 5.0 motor to make it a max tow package, that is just my guess. jmmec-the xlt's are built both at dtp and ktp however because of your location I would assume it will be built at ktp but that is only a guess. I would assume that cause you just ordered your truck it would be a job 2 build cause I have had a truck ordered since sept 13 and haven't even gotten scheduled yet. Also as far as I know the assembly plant hasn't even recieved the ok to ship yet. I would check your priority # though to see what the dealer set it at. 8-12 weeks is a real honest guess by the dealer.
  11. No the raptor axles are wider than the standard axle, and when we started running them I thought somebody put the wrong axle tubes on, but the engineer said the 4.10 ELocker would be an option on regular F150's for job2. He said he thought it was for the FX4 but wasn't sure. Also, the job 2 axles are upgraded with better bearings and a thicker pinion shaft. There might be more upgrades but that is what I know so far. I saw our schedule and we have 11 days of job 1 production left then start job 2. I would wait for job 2 cause you are getting a stronger better rear axle. They said it was almost as strong as the super duty.
  12. We are about 2 to 3 days ahead of the assembly plant. Also we are running 4.10 elockers which will be a new option for the regular f150. Dont know which trim levels or motors. I asked an engineer and he thought it was for the fx4.
  13. We at sterling axle start running the job 2 axles week of dec 13
  14. Does anybody know when job1 is at either DTP or KC for the 2011 trucks?
