  1. UPDATE I took the Expedition to my normal dealer and we spent 1.5 hours going over the truck on the rack and the service manager and the techs cannot imagine or see why Ford is denying warranty as there is no damage other then road rash. We looked in the system and apparently the 1st dealer who filed the claim (I have never had the truck to this dealer and only did because its a 1/4 mile from my house) recommended that Ford deny the claim for damage when there is obviously none and even submitted photos supposedly of what I do not know! We took photos as well and the service manager is going to resubmit the claim and try to fight for me on it. Also just for fun the electric motor that makes these things deploy & retract is $1695 from Ford! WTF!!!
  2. I am very upset with an experience I am having with Ford and a dealership. I went out into my garage yesterday morning to get into my 2010 Expedition EL 4x4 and when I opened the passenger side front door the power running board kind of jerked and made a horrible squealing sound and then upon closing the door it would not go back up with out my pushing it back up and it squealed as well. I took it to a dealer close by and they said yes it has to be replaced and that a new one would be coming. I also asked about pulsating warped brake disks that have already had to be turned once about a year ago under warranty and was told that brakes are not covered under warranty. The truck has 29,000 miles on it and I am the original owner. OK, so this morning the service rep calls and says that all repairs over $75 are required to be submitted to Ford for warranty claims and that pictures of a scatch on the front of the running board caused Ford tech to deny the warrany claim. I went immediately to the garage to check for said scratch and am amazed that a scuff on the front of a deviced constantly stepped on every time a passenger exits or enters the vehicle is what casued them to deny the claim. I just got off the phone with customer service who basically relayed the same message and said I could get a second opinion but photos don't lie and that Ford would deny it from them most likely as well. I asked to contact a regional rep and was told there was no one other than his supervisor I could speak to. I am totally amazed and very frusterated. This is my second Expedition and I talked my wife into a 2011 explorer last year with a combined value of over $90K in ford vehicle purchases and this is the kind of response I get. Is there anything I can do that would result in a different more satisfying outcome? I have had the vehicle in for many different warrany items since I bought it in October of 2010 and maybe Ford decided they have spent enough on it. Please help me! Jason
  3. I seem to remember back in 07 when I bought my Eddie Bauer, the Limited offered a tilt/telescope wheel like the Navigator....maybe I am crazy and just imagined it, but I am not real happy because in deliberation about purchasing a new one I really would like a telescoping wheel in order to be more comfortable behind the wheel and it appears that is not an option anymore. I know that the GM stuff doesn't offer that, but the ugly Sequoia does. Really not much choice in the fullsize market unless you want to spend $70K and get a really interesting looking 2011 QX56 that just came out with a 400HP engine and lots of capability. It is really large and puts the Land Cruiser to shame, but I really don't know about that luxo-fullsize machine...I mean, would I feel comfortable taking it to the farm or off pavement camping even though it is capable, it costs alot and is too shiny and blinged up. Your thoughts?
  4. I bought it in May of 2007, & I believe looking it up once before it had a February 07 build date
  5. I do have to admit it is all around quieter than my 04 Tahoe Z-71 & my wifes 06 Impala SS on wind noise, but I am driving around one of my granddads vehicles right now a diesel Chevy 2500 crew-cabs and over all the wind noise is louder, just no pronounced sound coming from the driver's side window/mirror area like on my Expedition. And this huge behemoth has those awful telescoping mirrors that will slap the car next to you when driving by, so it should have a great deal of "mirror turbulence" issues.
  6. I can sit on the passenger side of the vehicle while someone else is driving and I don't hear the wind noise coming from that side or its supposed mirror turbulence, so I think the TSB needs to be performed on the drivers's side mirror as suggested.
  7. The frusterating thing about the wind noise is that there is a TSB on it and no one will do what is suggested to fix it. I have read from quite a few people on the forum about having this TSB performed and it making a big difference on the noise.
  8. Thanks for everyone's response to my plea for help! I thought I would post an update after the assistant service manager called me this morning. He said that they would be able to take care of the seat a/c, the loose seat, the loose drivers window, and of course couldn't hear any wind noise from the drivers side, according to him its just "normal mirror turbulence". I will go ahead and let them fix all of this and try the third dealer first to see if they are any better before I go to the next step of contacting the district service rep or factory rep. I am located in Amarillo, TX for those who asked. Thanks Again, Jason
  9. I took my 07 Expedition Eddie Bauer into one of the local dealers and got an assistant service manager to do the write up. I first mentioned that my A/C seats were not blowing hardly any air through them and he said he had never heard of A/C seats & was I sure that maybe I was mistaken about my vehicle having such a thing. You see how this is going..... I told him that indeed it did have A/C seats and that there is a technical service bulletin on fixing the problem. I then told him that the driver's seat is loose and it rocks back and forth slightly during acceleration and stopping and that that when moving the seat back and forth it hits a spot that is very rough and feels like the seat is catching on something. I then mentioned that the front driver & passenger side windows seem loose in their tracks and when rolled about half-way down they rattle back & forth side to side when hitting any slight bump or rough pavement. I also said that after I have rolled down the drivers side window and rolled it back up it makes a popping noise for about a minute afterward as if it is falling ever so slightly or imperceptibly. The service guy is getting exasperated and is rolling his eyes now. I then mention to him about the driver's side wind noise issue to which there have been numerous technical service bulletins issued and he gave me the standard issue turbulence around the mirror and that was normal speech. I am getting very upset now and last but not least I tell him that since I have had to have the outside drivers door handle replaced, the lock cylinder is somewhat loose and wind whistles around the door handle now. After all of that I get smart-ass reply of "well you ran my pen out of ink and I don't have any paper left, is that all that you have to tell me"? I told him to pull all technical service bulletins and if any of them were related to any of the problems I mentioned to fix the problems and he basically blew me off. What do I do? There are 3 Ford dealers in my city and this is the largest most convenient one. One of the others is not much better to deal with. The other dealer I have not tried. Please help with any advice on getting my issues resolved. Thanks, Jason
  10. I thought about ordering one, but I wondered how long it would take to get one. How long from order to arrival at the dealer? Also, can I use an X-plan? Do rebates still apply? Also, does anyone think that Memorial Day incentives will be better than what they are now? I just wonder about the ordering process, because one of my local dealers here is very negative about the prospect of doing just that. Let me know some of the ins & outs of ordering a vehicle and how that process works. I was looking at options that I would want, and I have couple of questions. #1 is the power liftgate a good option or another thing to break and be costly to repair? #2 is the rear load-leveling air suspension a good option or another thing to break and be costly to repair? Your opinions would be greatly appreciated!
  11. I have a question that I really need answered in the next few days. I am looking to purchase a 07 Expedition EB in the next week to replace my 04 Tahoe and I need some advice about towing and the standard hitch. The one I am looking at does not have the heavy duty towing package. From what I have read the Expy has a standard class III/IV receiving hitch and can tow 6,000 lbs. I have a boat that doesn't weigh near the much and rarely tow large things. My question is whether the standard towing capacity and hitch is enough or do many of you recommend getting the heavy duty towing package. I know that the the HD package says it has a larger radiator and auxillary tranny cooler as well as the higher capacity hitch. The main thing I am worried about is that Ford is known to put those little class II receivers on some vehicles and it definitely would not work. I have to have the larger receiver hitch like my Tahoe has, so I want to make sure. Please, all of you 07 Expedition owners let me know how your vehicles tow, if you have the heavy duty package or not, and what kind of receiver hitch you have. Thanks, Jason
