  2. Hi All, We are about to purchase a slightly used 2007 Mercury Mountaineer Premier V8. I was wondering if anybody had a working link to the 2007 Order Guide or if its saved on your computer if it could be forwarded to me? I am curious as to option packaging etc. I can PM my email address to anyone who can help. I tried to use the site search to find it but it says the administrator has turned it off. Did I do it wrong? Thanks in advance, Tom
  3. The big things I am aware of on the 2003's are rear axle Seals/bearings. LCM failure, Steel wheel failure. I havent heard too much on the frames failing. From reading over at it seems that 2004 is the best all around year. The wheels, axles and LCMs all seem to have been fixed and its before the '05 drive by wire(another first year headache.) Remember if you do look at a 2003 P71 if the wheels have 7 oval holes it has not hadthe recall done. If it has 12 hole wheels the recall should have been done at some point.
  4. That looks ridiculous, although it could have been worse. They could have tried to match the roof to the interior.
  5. This interests me, I just looked on the Mercury Website and it still shows that all Grand Marquis wheels are 16". Did they change the wheel design when going to 17" wheels. If they did change the wheels does anyone know what they look like?
  6. I looked at a Taurus when I was picking up parts for my Crown Vic. The only + over my car is the additional rear leg room, thats it thats all. With that said, my next vehicle will be a truck, only because I need it and my '03 Crown Vic will not be considered as a trade in.
  7. Freedomlou, While I do agree with small parts of your post. I would not say they are not designed for youth, there are plenty of young people on crownvic.net sure they buy the cars used but they still buy them and WANTED to buy them. I bought my 2003 Crown Victoria at age 25, Yes it was used, but thats not what I wanted. I had a black 2004 Mercury Grand Marquis LS Ultimate with the HPP package picked out and contract signed unfortunately I was so buried in my previous vehicle I couldn't afford the payments. I am a big guy, 6'3" and I like a big car. There are two major reasons why the Crown Vic/Grand Marquis went stale. 1st. Zero advertising by Ford Motor company, which translates into no sales therefore no redesign. They were much to concerned with buying Volvo,Land Rover,Aston Martin and Jaguar to care about the Panthers 2nd. All of the Ford dealerships who would only order the Crown Vics that Ford forced on them and then buried them in the back corner of their lots behind 8 rows of F150's and Explorers. A little advertising can make or break a vehicle. All in all, Yes a major redesign would breathe a lot of life into this somewhat outdated chassis , but had all of Ford, Including the dealers themselves not forgotten about the cars things may be different.
  8. I am wondering the same thing, a few of the guys on CVN are trying to get a part number for the new grill, if they find out what it is, I will let you know. It sure looks to me like its the same old honeycomb style grill surround, just a new center section.
  9. Looks like this Special Edition is a Kuwait Export Crown Vic. Here is the thread from Crownvic.net where one of the members who lives in Kuwait found it on the showroom floor. http://www.crownvic.net/ubbthreads/ubbthre...e=0#Post1288071
  10. I have a 2003 Crown Vic which has the headlamps that turns on with the wipers. It works exactly the same way as you describe above. They turn on about 30 seconds to a minute after I turn on the wipers. Then once the wipers are turned off the lights stay on for awhile. Im not sure if the wipers override the light sensor of the autolamp system or what. I do not use my autolamp function at all because my parking situation shines my headlights right into my neighbors front window so the lights turning on are defintely caused by the wipers being turned on.
