  1. I know it's heavier than when I put it on, but is there really that much in there? Wow! Now, when I took off the filter, I poured it into the pan with the rest of the oil I drained, but you still think that's how much was soaked up into the insides of the filter? If so, great, thanks, that makes me feel much better. I'm new to this, and this is only the second time I've even changed my oil (yes, go ahead and laugh if you like, I'll take it), but I'm really nervious about messing up my new car. Thanks for the quick response.
  2. Hey all, Just changed my oil today, at 3000 miles on a new '06 Mustang GT. I changed it at 2000 as well, and put in 6 quarts (as per manual). Today it only drained enough to fill the 5 quart jug. Is that typical/normal/acceptable? I'm sorta dreading the response, but I'd like to know. Is 1 quart in 1000 miles okay on a new engine at only 3000 miles? Thanks,
  3. Hi everyone, New mustang owner here, with a (hopefully) simple question... I just noticed a little bit of rust on some components in the undercarriage. I'm sorry I don't know the part name, but it's the one that connects the rear wheels to the rear axle. I called the dealer service department who assured me that surface rust is completely normal and nothing is being corroded away. I'm sure they're right, and I'm no mechanic, so I just thought I'd ask all you experts out there to reassure me.
