  2. I'm talking apples to apples. If I work at beer brewery I would drink their beer. Champane is not beer. If you want to go buy a ATV go buy one Ford doesn't make ATV's. But if your going to buy a luxury car then yes you should buy a Ford. I guess worst case scenario they go buy Volvo since in the long run Ford would profit from them.
  3. I've worked for Ford for 15yrs and that is all I drive. YES that does make you less of a supporter! Plain and simple if you can't buy the product from the company you work for then go work for BMW!! Yes I do believe that much in this. It kills me to see guys drive in new Forgeign or Domestic cars when they have worked for the company since they bought them. It's one thing to drive a Chevy or another domestic car and get hired at Ford but when it's time to replace that vechicle it's a no brainer you buy a Ford! What's your neighbor think when he knows you work at Ford but, buy a BMW? I'll tell you it tells him that he shouldn't buy a Ford because if the employee that works there don't buy one why should he. We make a damm good living here and if you can't support this company then you should get out plain and simple!!
  4. I've worked for Ford for 15yrs and drove Ford trucks for 20yrs. I buy them not just to support the company but, I think they make the best truck. If your one of these guys that don't buy Fords I would love to run a key down the side of what new piece of junk you decide to buy. You say if we get screwed your not buying a Ford dude no one is twisting your arm to stay maybe you should show them and walk out. I don't know for sure but I bet they can survive without you working for them or you buying their product!!
  5. You are dead on brother!! Believe me I will do my best to see him back on his HI-LO next election time!!
  6. I do agree with you but, I didn't hire them the company did. So why should I sit back and miss out on money because of this? This company will never police it's own. It take way too much paper work to show them to the door. Anyway I've heard many of time by supervision that it's just not worth it. They put the paper on them and then the union just gets them off by offering something like throwing some grievances away or something else. I think if the union want to hand pick people why don't they come out and tell the individual that he isn't working because he is a "Dog"!! I bet that would fly. I bet the dog would hire a lawyer for discrimination so fast your head would swim.
  7. We have mostly always done most of work. We have farmed out some of the big jobs. We have always made schedule as far as new product launches go. These jobs i'm talking about for us electricians is just running some conduit and pulling some wire. I would rather see our guys make this money than the outside contractors but not at the expense of the union hand picking people.
  8. Than you Sparky finally someone who understands this. It isn't the unions job to police these people it is the company's job. I bet if these production people that are putting these replys in were told by they had the option to work the next couple of Sunday. Then the union came down and told them they was going to let some other guys from the other end of plant come down and do there job because these guys did that job for 10 yrs so they probably know it better. Regardless they aren't in that dept or of the hrs. I bet some of there responses would be different!!
  9. You must definetly be production. What about all the times I come over for a fault and find out that it is dirt on the end of a prox switch. It is fixed in the 10 minutes but your gone for 45 minutes to the break room or out bull shitting with your buddies. People in glass houses shouldn't throw stones!!
  10. You don't have a clue brother! We lost our work because the plant manager doesn't like construction period end of statement. We was doing the work before and making schedule. I'm a electrician with 15 yrs. at Ford and 10 on the outside. So i'm not some old timer there just to suck the overtime and not do the job. I'm there to make a living for my family just like everyone else. So yes if I'm low on hours I expect to be scheduled just like the contract says. You say people should be selected on " merit, skill level, loyalty, motivation etc " Well I have altogether 25 yrs as electrician so that means I should have the skill. I have always been praised for getting the job done so that must mean I must have the motivation. With riding the fence with 15 yrs and not taking the buyout and always buying Ford products means I must have the loyalty. I have worked construction for 5 yrs at the plant. So now you tell me why I wasn't selected to work out of turn? That isn't the point here. The point is:The Union doesn't have the right to decide who should and shouldn't work on the job period!! We have a overtime agreement and they need to adhere to it. If there is "Dogs" on the job the it is the Company's responsibilities to write them up and keep following that till the "Dogs" are gone.
  11. We have lost the majority of our construction work to the outside contractors. Now the plant manager wants to throw us a bone by letting us to a few little jobs. He said if we can make schedule he will give us some back. That sounded great until our not so great Skilled Trade Chairman "Greg Banks" come up with this bull shit that he will hand pick the trades out of rotation and regardless of seniority!! He said we can't afford to have "Dogs" on the job!! Am I not the only one who sees a problem with this? We are voting on this Monday. Who is he to pick who a dog is and who isn't? Now if you go out of rotation and then the company decides later to do this. Then the union tries to write a grievance on this what do you think the company will do? They will laugh in our face because you just gave away the grievance process. The company will also be one step closer to department overtime. Going out of turn you are also just telling the company yes we have dogs we have some guys not capable of doing the job you hired them for! I say go by the overtime agreement that you voted on a 80 yrs ago! If you go out of rotation then everyone will just cut their own deal company and hourly!! How will they stop it when it gets out of hand? You will have guys making 70k while the great hog cutters will make 120k! I can't see how the union can embrace this hence the word "UNION" which means to bring together. I don't want to hear if we get this done on time. We are going to get more work. We have proved to this company time and time again that we make schedule and we alway get the work done on time. Why should we start all over again? The company has to be sitting back and saying let them do this out of rotation regardless of seniority or hours. They will open the door for us down the road!!
  12. Not much just the whole farm!! Now tech are able to do our minor and preventive maintence work. We are basically going to dept. overtime. Our hands were tied behind are back there wasn't much you could do.
  13. Just came across all of our company pagers that Sharonville was awarded the 6R140 program!! :happy feet: :happy feet: The union also said all hourly personal for Ford will receive a 500 bonus they said this was to compensate for all the big bonus the salary personal was getting.
  14. This is why we lose money, I bet the foreign car companies don't run like this. I've been at Ford for 15 yrs now as a PF and have seen alot but not all. I seem to be amazed at things just when you thought it couldn't get anymore screwed up. Our plant manager here at Sharonville doesn't like construction, to be honest he doesn't like trades. We are currently installing alot of machines and piping for the 6r and 6f program. So this bonehead gets rid of construction and says we don't have the money do work weekends and overtime. Then last week they bring in 90 outside contractors at a price of 62.00 a man hr. to set machines, run electric, and plumb up the machines. So now we are spending an additional 890 k just for labor to do the same work we was doing. We have been skimping by for about a year now short on the outposts because they wouldn't replace guys who have retired or took buyouts. So now on outposts where we had 1or 2 fitters now we have 4 or 5 and he tells the union we don't have the manpower to man up construction so the outsiders have to do the work. If we would have laid off 90 tradesmen and then brought the outsiders in I could see their reasoning. They would be breaking even, but we are spending an additional 890 k, can anyone figure this out? I can't! Now we just found out we are working and have been working a skelton crew for the Saturday, the contractors are working Sat and Sun. The only thing the union says is it is out of our hands but they won't be working Monday. Well big deal!! I bet Toyota doesn't do business like this. You can't tell me that management is this stupid. I mean what are all of those meetings they have and those papers they have frame on the wall are for??
  15. near kremmling colorado it's up by the border close to montana
  16. :happy feet: I know it's not a deer but ck out the elk got in Colorado :happy feet:
  17. Here it goes and I know i'm going to get slaughtered for this post. I agree with untouchables I to don't want to lose my job or have to sell me home but it is not the end of the world. I have 15 yrs with the company so i'm at the point I'm damm if I do damm if I don't. I too old to go back to school for the education package. I'm a tradesmen so yes I can get a job on the outside for less money and if that is what I have to do to make sure my family is taken care of then thats what I will do. I think alot of people who work for this company went from a job making hardly any money to 25-30 dollars a hour are starting to realize that they just don't pay that out and the real world. I think alot of the younger people are living beyond there means. I came to this place and had to take a pay cut because when I hired in they used the tier wage system but I knew in the long run I would make way more than on the outside. Plus it was warm inside not having to work in the cold and it was a stable job. But like untouchable said it's not the end of the world you could go home tonight and find out that your wife, husband, or even one of your kids have a terminal disease. We well all survive we just my not be able to live so high on the hog. Well thats my two cents worth. Now let the ripping begin!!
  18. I have heard this time and time again. Do you guys thinks that just because the HQ is in Detroit that Ford will cater to Detroit? I've heard the same thing about us in Sharonville that we wouldn't get this or wouldn't get that because Van Dyke is up the road and Detroit will take care of them first. Well that is BS I've seen us get new products! I got news for you which ever state or city that will give up the most tax abates will win this war as long as both plants that are competing are pretty even at qulity and safety ect. Just FYI all us that aren't in Detroit we have railroad and trucking services also. In fact it would make more sense to put more products here or Ky or other places other than Detroit because products can get to the assembly plants a day or two quicker.
  19. Hey Raws41900 where did you hear this? I was talking to the wizard anyhow. Are you aware that we just done a 200 million expansion? Our FN is running 2 shifts 7 days of week!! I just wanted to know if the wizard heard anything.
  20. Hey Wizard we keep hearing from both sides of the mouth? We keep hearing we are ok and then we hear we are ok until 2011? Nobody here really knows have you heard anything? Any input would be appreciated. Thanks
  21.  They are telling us in team meeting STP will be down last week of August and first two week of September.
