If I worked at your plant, I wouldnt like it, but I would go for it. At this moment in time, look after your pay, and medical, dental, vision. Forget classifications and some jobs that are outsourced. I would save my job! Ask those from Atl., St.L.,TC and all of the other locations that are going away. If Ford turns around and starts making money again, you may get some concessions back.

This is why people are losing their jobs at Ford, I refuse to go to Target, Walmart or any other business that pursues the cheapest products in the world. Now all of the plants are being closed, gas is $3 a gallon and everyones crying. Everyone think about this, pay $1 more for a pack of socks made in America, pay $10 more for a pair of shoes made in America,ect..... now China dosnt have the money or need to expand their economy. End result, there are less cars sold in China, less demand for oil and cheaper oil and resources for Americans. All these f-up Republicans that talk about how good free trade is for America, are too stupid to tell you theres a payback. The payback comes when there are no decent manufacturing jobs in America, oil, steel and other resources are expensive due to the foriegn demand, and the trillion dollar a year trade deficit is called by the rest of the world, forcing the good old USA to become a third world country. Next year? probably not I guess 20 to 25 years. But its coming open your eyes, and quit buying all of these crooked politicians double talk. Walmart is pulling out of Germany because the Germans support there own companies, as do the Japs. WAKE UP, BUY AMERICAN, if someone comes to your house to paint it and they pull up in a Jap car, tell them I'm not giving you my money to send overseas, because It wont come back to me. Maybe if we all try a little harder, things will change. I told my doctor, who drove a lexus that I wont be back to see him until he can support my brothers in the USA. Id rather die first.

I hate for anyone to be layed off, but Canada has faired pretty well in the last round of layoffs. Most of Fords N.A. profit/loss come from the U.S.A. and the largest % of job cuts are in the U.S.A. so hopefully Mexico and Canada can prop up Fords N.A. results because Ford is cutting their most loyal consumers.

I wonder how many gays get insurance for their partner from Ford? If there is such a problem with health cost, why does Ford insist on offering gays benefits, its only going to cost more and threatin all the normal familys. Its a fact, gay men are more of a health risk to aids and aids patients cost tens of thousands of dollars a year. The UAW should push for clinics for UAW members and their family, not have 4 or 5 different options.

I understand you guys are probably management, but Ford takes care of their managers, when Nassar left he got millions, while the employees and shareholders are suffering. Ford spends hundreds of thousands a year on pro sports tickets for their management. I'd rather see the UAW give up the sorry ass UAW legal services, learning center, xyz-plans, workout centers, drug rehab and gay benifits. If Toyota and Honda decide not to build cars for a week, they bring their employees in and go over something that benifits the company. If they can ensure their employees a check, why shouldnt Ford? In addition, Toyotas CEO made under $1 million last year, while his company made $12 billion profit, Ford is paying VP's more than that and not one of them has produced!

Why would a UAW member vote on a contract that dosnt include the GEN? I for one wouldnt advise it, although it should be changed, people with 30 or more years or 85 points should be forced to retire, no GEN, and anyone whos offered a job should have to take it or give up their GEN protection. But remember the contract has to be voted on, Ford isnt going to try something so radical that the unions forced to strike, a strike could force Ford out of business. Nobody wants that!
