  1. Thanks for your reply Pioneer! There have been some developments in this F250 saga since the weekend. After thinking about it really hard this weekend, I talked to our sales consultant a whole lot today and he gave me, what I felt, were his geniune opinions about the situation with this '06 650 + out of locale truck that were missing some of they key options that we really wanted and kindly suggested we look at the '07's. He said that even though we would be losing half of the rebate money ($1,500.00 or so) he could probably find one closer and with all the equipment we wanted and he did (all the same as listed in first post with the addition of chrome package --> Cab steps (Yeah!) , the roof clearance lights and a camper package) and the price wouldn't nbe that huge. Well here is what the MSRP for this '07 is: $50,200.00 with a selling price of $48,897 including applicable rebates and factoring in our trade. Now this truck is outside of Louisiana but only about 100 miles away in Mississippi which compared to the Arkansas truck is a hop skip and a jump away........LOL Now does anyone out there think we can get a better price than this via negotiating or maybe with X Plan pricing? I already asked them if they coud give us a little more for our trade and was told the Used Car Manager said no. If there is a chance that we can get a better deal with the X Plan would a generous person with pin numbers to spare be willing to give us us one. If so all I have to do is post in the PIN request section right? Thanks again! Patty
  2. Hi All, This is a long post :blah: :blah: but we are in need of some expert input on some issues and were pointed in your direction, so please bear with us :D . We have been looking for a new truck for the past month or so and so we went and visited our local dealership. They didn't have the truck we were looking for on the lot and really didn't seem too motivated to try and locate one for us. We left all our information regarding what we were looking for with them and they never called us back. So we went back up to the same dealership again about a week later and spoke with the sales team that had assisted us on our first visit and when we asked if they had found anything we were told that they might have some in the dealer pool but hadn't even checked yet. Now you might say just go to another dealership well we would but there are only a few that have reopened since last year. To make a long story short, that night we began our truck search via internet and low and behold about 4 other dealerships within a 65 mile radius initially contacted us. One delaership in particular stood out because of their awesome customer service and constant updates regarding what we were looking for. They had found at least 1 truck that closely met most of our requirements so we made an appointment to meet. Everyone there was extremely nice and helpful when we arrived and that continues still. I say still because now come the few curves in the road. The truck that they had found had additional options on it but it was located about 250 miles out of state. The following morning when our sales consultant called the dealership who had the truck was told it had been moved to another dealership and was sold . So back to square one. He worked and was able to find us another vehicle very similar to the first but this one is about 650 miles from here. Question #1: Is there a standard protocol when getting a vechicle from another dealership in regards to how much mileage is acceptable before trailering it? The dealership here is going to send someone there and then have them drive the truck back. It bothers us a little that we are going to be getting a new vehicle with 650+ miles on it but it is pretty much the truck we want (minus a few minor options such as white letter tires, polished tubular steps and the roof clearance lights) and pickins are slim so.......what do you guys think? Question#2: We were given an e-price of $41,868 (which includes $1000.00 cash back in lieu of gas gard, $2,000.00 Super Duty rebate, and $500.00 military appreciation cash). Is that a fair price or do we negotiate more? Below are the options the truck has on it. Vehicle Description: 2006 F250 4X4 Crew Cab-156" Wheel Base 6.0L V-8 Diesel Torqshift 5-Spd Auto Trans Standard Vehicle Price $37,480.00 Options: Code: Black Clearcoat Medium Flint Leather Preferred Equipment Package 608A 18" Premium Forged Polished Aluminum Wheels 64G $0.00 6.0 Powestroke Diesel V-8 99P $5,300.00 Electronic 5-Speed Automatic 44B $1,490.00 Power Sliding Glass Sunroof 43M $995.00 LT275/70R18E All Terrain Black Sidewall Tires TBL $490.00 Tow Command System 91T $450.00 Electronic AM/FM Stereo w/6-CD Changer & Clock 581 $300.00 3.73 Limited Slip Axle Ratio XL3 $300.00 Reverse Vehicle Aid Sensor 76B $245.00 Fx4 Off Road Package 55F $225.00 Heated Seats 90H $220.00 Electronic Shift on the Fly 213 $185.00 Power Sliding Rear Window 435 $185.00 Trailer Hitch Receiver 12.5K 86T $175.00 Adjustable Gas and Brake Pedals 62M $120.00 Stabilizer Package 63B $115.00 Engine Block Heater 41H $35.00 50 State Emissions 425 $0.00 Destination Charge $900.00 Total Base Vehicle & Option Price $49,210.00 Question #3: We inquired about getting a break if we purchase polished cab steps through them and install them ourselves and were quoted a price of $450.00 + tax. We only did a limited internet search and could not find the Genuine Ford steps so we can't tell if that is a break or not so if someone could give a ballpark figure that would be great. We didn't even bother with asking about the clearance lights at this point but if someone could give us a number on those as well we would appreciate it too. We know that they are going through a lot of work to get us our perfect truck and it is very refreshing and much appreciated because from past experience down here not too many dealers in our location are that customer oriented anymore. We just want to be sure before we give the go ahead to them to get this particular truck. Thanks in advance!
