  1. There have been 3 already for certain plants. Some are awaiting number 5.
  2. For all that have 10-15 years in, adjusting to life outside ford will be rough. Especially skilled trades who have not kept up on their education. I had quite a few years in when I took the May buyout, and wow, the jobs have changed since I was out here. I am salary, as an engineer, and I run production parts a couple of days a week. It is alot different.
  3. arguing with people is like competing in the special olympics. Even if you win, you are still retarded.
  4. Ya know, people in third world do not have the option to not work 16 hour days. 10 year old girls work 16 hours 7 days 365. If you think anyone is going to pity a line worker in America, think again. It is fucked up I know. Bush's MASTER plan was to get all the countries to be like us, and it didnt work.
  5. Seems everyone, besides you guys, is still putting their whole and undying faith into the UAW. You pay the bills, you pay the dues, quit bitching and send them packing. You are the UAW, a member in good standing. Dismiss them. Find another representative. They are selling you out.
  6. I am not trying to get anyone to "bite". I thought maybe someone might open their eyes. If you take the time to read my posts, all of them, and not just one line (and begin typing a reply) you would understand that I have a valid point. Actually, I am currently programming a FANUC 1423 to run a laser weld the size of a needle head. The schedule is: WS 175 TI 120 TO 80 for some reason, my background current fades at the end of a run and leaves a bubble that is not in tolerance. Maybe you can help me out with that. Jobs like that make me want to kick the dog when I get home. Thanks for playing Yeah, that's it. You are smart as hell!!!
  7. Actually, a few places I have worked at have 2-3 different unions you can belong to. The railroad, for example, has three. You can choose any of the 3. The reason everyone is UAW at Ford is the design of the international constitution. Job bidding processes enable an assembler to become a janitor, and vice versa. Alot of places do not have that range in job classifications.
  8. I have been a truck driver, I have been a honeydipper (thats sucking shit outta septics) I have been a garbage man. You folks think I was born in an office? I don't have an office NOW!!! My point is this, and read carefully, do not take one sentence that you read and dislike, and then flame me for it. Our economy will not support ANYBODY making your wages and benes. It is not your fault. It is both co. and union that decide contracts. You get something, they get something. You do not have a voice anymore. They TELL you that you do. You do not. Relieve yourselves of the UAW, and you will continue to work. There are unions out there that will co-operate with companies, and they actually want the company to survive bad times. The UAW does not care if Ford folds up. They have drained every bit of life from a company that was once top of the game. Hourly blames poor engineering. Hell, if you can only afford a 30k/yr engineer, what can you expect? Engineering blames lazy workers. If that's true, why are they willing to work AROUND poor designs to get the product out the door, as you expect? You are all losing because the UAW is a sponge. It is a legal travelling evangilist. They force the company to design jobs so a monkey can do them, then they cart in and out of places leaving a shit stain on the wall.
  9. These folks ARE doing something rash. And wizard has nothing to do with it. These folks are still putting their faith in the UAW, and that is a very brave move.
  10. You have me all wrong. I believe in a living wage....15 an hour for cleaning shitters (if that is your chosen profession) is a great wage. Production are the moneymakers.....They should always get top wages. Everyone always pays the indirect labor more because they think they are skilled. Fuck 'em. Give me a prod. worker anyday...he/she probably knows more about the machine than any electrician.
  11. And one more thing, if I worked where you are, and you get sent home, you get paid. I have to stay and fix the shit right???? You are home with your families with a short week check while I am stuck like chuck, because someone  jimmied something in a shaft. And, hence, no accountability, you get paid, I work. Great deal I get. Yipppeeeee for me!!!! SHUUUuuuuuuUUUSH!
  12. Maybe you should get your union on that
  13. I gotta agree with this guy on that. And yes, I have done your jobs, still doing some of that in fact. I am filthy when I get home. Not only do I program, I also run the products and physically fix them when automation fucks up. You see engineers as a waste of space, because of your contract, they are not allowed to do anything. I dont have a contract, and I dont give a fuck who touches my shit. Do a good job, on every job. You don't write like you work at Ford. You shut up.
