  1. They opened another lot for another 300 spots about 2 months ago not much but it's something

Hopefully they're smart enough (doubt it) to not run the shifts back to back like they do now where one shift is parking while the other shift is still working 10.7

  2. I think having drugs/alcohol in your system is a requirement for employment nowadays i think.

I'm shocked they even do a piss test honestly with the trash they've been hiring. they need to do interviews and physicals, way to much trash being brought in (friends and family plan)

  3. Your funny this dispostion of the UAW turning on there employees and treating others differently was brought up at a meeting. It was decided to try to have them also join. Not only are we going after them but also retail workers and government employees. What we deserve is equality. Yes you have to work your way up bit not to 18 dollars an hour when without tier employees this place would collapse because nobody else works between false fmlas and medicals and pure lazy ness. Trust me when I say this the government doesn't like the UAW and they will destroy them. We as vets no how the government operates on certain levels so we can mold them to what should happen not what they want. Right to work is here and next contract will show you that it will affect you. When your due a go up for sure because most tier employees are leaving you'll cry then the UAW will not have a string hold on there own employee base which will cause the government to jump on the UAW and bury them.

Good luck with all that. :boring: :soapbox:

  4. It got even better yesterday when an email was sent out saying that all SCHEDULED vacation time that people put in already for after june 1st will be VOIDED and they are going to give us all a slip to fill out and select vacation time by seniority... I dont know about others but this is complete BULLSHIT, i have approved vacation time that is going to be VOIDED?? WTF!

  5. Why is Ford firing them, Shouldn't this be between the employees and the state.

you dont think the company has any involvement in you getting your unemployment? ford pays into your unemployment, therefore when you falsify your claim saying ford laid you off when you werent, youre basically stealing money from the company and state you didnt have coming to you. depending on how much they received, it could be a felony that can be punished by imprisonment and fines.

  6. you're both right, you can actually certify earlier doing it online then waiting to call, i was able to do it online a week before i couldve call marvin, i got my check quicker, but subpay was still slow.

  7. This is how I think it will go...........When bargaining starts, I believe there will be a "buy-down. It will go something like this: They will offer tier one x-amount of dollars to take a pay cut. Lets say they offer them $20,000 for a $2.00 an hour cut in pay............. Next they will give a $1 raise to tier two people. This way they have closed the gap between the to by $3, and lowered the hourly rate. Tier one, those old enough to go will retire with some extra cash, they will vote for the contract, and tier two will vote for it to get a raise.......... Contract passes and everyone "loves it".................. Ya right.

I know our union leaders dont always make the right moves, but no way are they going to cut our 1st tier wages.. lower wages = less money for them

  8.

Not from what my buddy at Rawsonville is saying. He is 2nd Tier and was offered it.

funny i havent heard that at rawsonville, your buddy might be full of shit. why would they offer a 2nd tier a buyout? they're a dime a dozen.

  9. Average check = $8800

I saw that on the detroit news, i thought with all the talk about the huge profits we havent havent seen in so long, the check would be more then 800 above last years. oh well, can't complain, it'll pay off some debt.

  10. The big question though is what are us 1st tier willing to do to make it happen. Would you walk the picket line for your younger brothers, sons, co-workers? Are we all in this together or will we continue to let the company divide to conquer? That's what they are doing, it's in their long term play book. Labor consultants have been advising companies since the 80's to take this tac with unions. And it's always been sucessesful. If the history of organized labor in recent years is any indication, this may well be the beginning of the end for us.

rest assured that if it came down to a picket line, it would be 2nd tier picketing to bring us 1st tier down to their level as to give themselves any kind of financial advance.

  11. I'm new to whole RTW thing so if you could please answer me this. If people decide to opt out of paying dues then they are opting out of the Union completely and won't be helped by the union if they get fired or whatever else issue they have? And what about contract negotiations if they opt out then will they get the same benefits that the union negotiates?

Nope, everything is the same. they'll still represent you, you just wont be paying for it.

  12. If you can't survive without one weeks pay, you should change your spending habits and save some money cause in the auto industry there are ups and downs, you should be prepared with some money in savings, maybe instead of spending that profit sharing check you should save it

I didnt see where anyone said they cant survive without a weeks pay. The point is you shouldnt have to. If you are owed money and if ford fucked up they need to fix it. period. if you fuck up they arent letting you off the hook.

So take your condescending ass elsewhere
