  1. Hendew- do you know how many you have in gen there? I have a Bourbonfest year around on the South Side of Indy if your ever in town give me a shout and you are invited! I'll most definitly check it out in good ole KY if I get there...what could be better than beer, bourbon and some good grub!
  2. Unfortunetly that is the only place I would want to go. That doesn't mean if in 2 years Indy closes and they tell me to report somewhere else i wouldn't go, because I would. Since I was given a choice that is where I would like to go. Our union seems confident that MOST will get some sort of flowback. I'm 10-11((1-4-93 sen)) on the list at Indy to have rights to KY zone. I'm being told that the outlook for a person in my situation is looking good to get there. I do respect your insight on issues that i read on this forum you have had quality posts and I take no offense at all to your info you pass along. In other words...u r not being DICK...you seem to be a good union brother, Peace Out
  3. We had a meeting with the union today and the prez read a scripted letter given to him about the state of the plant. It is by contract that the company give a 90 day letter about a plant closing. Due to the market share analysist results and the lack of interest from a buyer in such a big facility as our Indy plant , Ford says it will be giving all contracts to others companies, stating that the other companies can make all our products at a more competive price. The plant will be shut down by the end of '08. The 90 day letter is just a formality, per our contract, the union who will have 90 days to respond to it. I'm more glad now than ever that I got my Flowback paper work in. Hopefully i'll be in KY within 6 months or so.
  4. 1 elec. from Indy was told same thing today...
  5. Does anyone know how many did accept the Jan 1 release date at KTP or LAP? Thanks for any insight... Have a great Holidays! Enjoy your time off...
  6. Are there any advantages or disadvantages to living in IN while working in KY or vice versa...any thoughts?
  7. I heard the big dogs were there for the launch and they heard a chorus of boo's as they made there way down the line...is there any truth to that?
  8. isn't it crazy how differn't opinons are abound with in the ford plants...i hear what KTP1989 is saying and I do belive that he is closer to what actions are going to happen at KTP and LAP as far as flowback is concerned...our union folks are tellling us however to get ready because you will get your flowback opportunity...some by summer or sooner...i'm just confused and ready for the dust to settle...
  9. everything seemed fine when we were passing out $5000 profit sharing checks, i didn't hear that our wages were to high then...now it seems to be our high wages? I don't by that....it's health care and the pensions, something Honda and Toyota are not dealing with right now that are the main culprets...just my uneducated opinon of course, i'm just a over paid PROUD uaw worker...
  10. i spoke to a few people today and they said they felt that the sheet was personel and it shouldn't be out on the floor...i'm interested because i would like to keep track of who leaves and make sure i'm not jumped over by a person who has less seniority...i also feel that it should be posted when people are granted flowback and leave their plant...i'm going to continue to keep my eyes peeled and keep asking question and hopefully I won't be skip over for the president's, uncle's, son's, cousin in law...oh yea my commiteeperson did look up for me on the sheet and let me know that i'm 11 out 70 some on the list for the zone((zone 7)) i picked as first choice...maybe if we all get our commiteepersons to do that leg work they will break and just give us the freakin spreedsheet...
  11. i went to the union offices today to try to get the spreedsheet...it was like it was top secrete...needl,ess to say I didn't get me hands on one...i'm not done yet
  12. it just had indy on it...i'm going to ask for one tomorrow...maybe all the plants have their own...
  13. I saw a spreedsheet today...it had everyone at Indy that chose flowback...it had seniority, zone choices for each person...you could figure out where you stood...looking to get my hands on one... :banmolest: i just like the banana one? don't ask...
  14. There is a standerd moving allowence, which is the table i posted above...there is a enhanced moving allowence,23,500...6,500 is cash and you pull from the remaining 17,000 for expendatures((realtor fees, closing points, moving etc...)) you recieve the remaining up the 17,000 up to 7,000 after all expenses paid... and a special enhanced moving allowence paid over 2 years... i THINK that you wave your right to the enhanced moving allowence by taking the special enhanced moving allowence but, you still receive the standerd moving allowence on the chart i posted earlier... If anyone knows differnt please let us know...these are my just my interpertations of the contract...
  15. 50-99 miles from home plant $1270 if u r single $2820 if married 100-299miles $1414 single...$3107 married 300-499 miles $1534 single...$3259 married 500-999 miles$1869...$3849 married 1000 or more $2149...$4425 married this is your moving allowence table...on top of the $45,000 over 2 years... I've heard that your normal amount on the table above is not taxed, can anyone verify this...
  16. there were 2 or 3 ACH plants that got thier flag back last week...it is no doubt a small part of the equation to get the plants sold...don't hold your breath on Indy being sold though...
  17. Man that sounds hopeful for me and my family, like many others, i put in for KTP 1st choice and LAP 2nd choice...with 14 years that might be the break i need to continue at Ford...i'm saying a prayer...can i root for the IU Hoosiers and the Colts in Louisville? Hey. i'll change my loyality if it means a job, take that to the bank...
  18. That is a great question! Who knows how many employees are in step 1-8 of the placement program heirarchy?
  19. Here in Indy ACH we had a little over 1100 sign up and our hourly is aroung 1700, i did hear today the number was down 100 or so because of people pulling some paperwork, i look for that to happen across the board...all who took a package have their last day already scheduled for them...nov 31, dec 31, jan 31, feb 31 are the dates people are leaving...i'm curious to find out what type of openings are going to be at what plants for transfer possiblities...i would think with the last day of signups came and gone that some sort of numbers would roll in soon...
  20. I'm sure something like that could very well happen...it sucks to have to say, but, at times we((I)) have to look after what is in my families best interest and yes that could be at the expense of an original KTP or LAP brother or sister...i've heard RUMOR that we may go to some sort of company wide seniority...this may be a stretch though...if that happens people with low seniorty could be in jepordy no matter what plant they are at... i'd rather work at indy for another 12-18 months and hopefully go into gen for a while than take there freakin money...i'm worth more than 100 g's, besides my family needs the beni's...hope it doesn't sound like i was getting heated...when i think about all that is going on i get very concerned for all of us...
  21. assume that 500 take a package at KTP...how many will they replace, any thoughts?...i got your e mail and wanted to say thanks KTP 1989...if i get that chance i'll be there soon and any help with the area and a warm welcome would be great...i got your cup of coffee or a beer :beerchug: when we meet...with my 1\4\93 seniority i'm nervous that i may not be given an opportunity to get somewhere with all the closings and gen folks and such...PEACE
  22. Indy handed out all info today...we have until 11\27 to sign up...you can choose a zone...Ach plants, Bativa, Sharonville and Maumee are not on the list...
  23. how many are left in Atlanta waiting to go some where? I heard that most have already went to KTP or LAP or took a package of some sort...
  24. i'm sure fantasy frank is doing what most of us are doing, trying to figure out where we could go that is close to home...i bet he is from Indy...i do sense a little aggitation in some of the responses to his inquiry...i never thought to hard about SHV((i'm at Indy ACH))but would welcome a opportunity to go there since it is close to Indy((i'm sure it is a long shot, but one never knows unless he pursues))...don't be haters, we are all in this together...
  25. i would guess about 300-400 looking to transfer from Indy...just a early guess though...
