  2. Ok . I hear you guys . I'm sure there are some dealers on here that will chime in. I don't think CanadaSVT could go to any Ford dealership and take a Harley truck and put 5600 miles on it. Actually i don't know. Could he ? Can i go down to my local dealer and take their GT out for a demonstrator. How do the dealers decide what vehicles can and will be used for a Demostrator. I brought my truck down to the dealer down the street to show the salesman (who has worked there for years) He never got to really check one out because his dealership never got one in. They do have a GT (which cost alot more than my 54K Harley truck), but it is in the showroom. Should the GT be a demonstator? Believe me i would like to take it for a test ride, but i betcha they wouldn't let me. My friend works at a dealership as a service manager and the nicest vehicle he has had as a demonstrator was an Explorer, but most of his demo's were Tauras's. I have only seen owners of dealerships driving thier most expensive or specialty vehicles as Demo's. I would like to hear from owners of dealerships who can tell me more about this, or people who work for Ford and have a Demo. Are you able to choose your own Demo or does someone higher up appoint you one ? Thanks, DFORDMAN
  3. Thanks for the input. I would never have thought a owner of a dealership would not take good care of a vehicle he or she is demoing, but not everbody takes pride in what they are driving. I know now that i will never take delivery of a vehicle in the late evening and i will inspect every inch of the vehicle, even if if takes two hours. Some people might think i am a little anal, but i work hard to pay for the things i like, and i like them to keep looking nice. I made another trip to the dealer to show them the defect in the paint .Now i will have to meet with a Ford rep to inspect the vehicle. If you click on the pic and look below the mirror, you can see the light and dark colors of the paint, and follow it across the door under the door handle. The thing that scares me is if it it is painted, will it look right, or can you tell if it was painted. I guess that all depends on who they have paint it. I will definately be on them to get this to look like a new truck with 6k on it. I might also find a true professional , and pay out of pocket,to make this paint job pop again. I will keep you all informed. DFORDMAN
  4. Finally got the dealer to agree to a brand new tire. I seem to have a new problem now. I found some problems in the paint that looks like it came that way from the factory. It's very noticable in the daylight. It's very blotchy, almost like it didn't get another coat. I was trying to find the post about the Mustang with the paint issues to see how to handle this . 5. Thank-you very much for your input. Yesterday i recieved the floor mats and bed mat which are included in the Harley Package. When they fix the scratch, i will definately make sure it is to my liking. I am still working on the tire. It is a shame i missed the slash on the tire the night i picked it up, because i would of had a brand new tire by now. It is hard to notice, because the rubber laid right back over the slice........not a chunk taken out. The two light yellow chaulk lines on either side brought it to my attention. It's funny how the prep guy said he didn't notice it as he armoralled the tires. I would just hate to have to buy a 200-300 dollar tire that i didn't cause the damage of. It sure is a pretty truck.......i love it . DFORDMAN
  6. I traded an 01 Expedition and a 02 F350 for an 06 F350 Harley . The dealer had located the truck and was swapping another truck for it .It was a demo with 5600 miles on it. They picked it up and got it ready for me to pick up that night. I was so happy and drove my new truck home. The next morning i noticed that there were no Harley floor mats or Harley bed mat .......there was a scratch on the bed and there was a slice in the front drivers side tire. I went back to the dealer to let them know. They said the would fix the scratch. They said the tire wasn't their problem and they were trying to contact the previous dealer about the floor mats and bed mat. I actually contacted the previous dealer and spoke to the owner who had used the truck as a demo. He told me he got the truck from a dealer that went out of business and it didn't have the floor mats and bed mat. He also said he didn't know about the slice in the tire . I'm still waiting to hear from my dealer. Ok, the truck is a demo, but isn't it considered new ? I recieved new truck incentives and financing and my warranty starts at delivery date and miles. I believe that a demo is basicly the same as new, but with low miles that the dealer drove as a demo and should come with everything as if someone ordred it. Can someone let me know what the deal is on a demo sale ? What rights do i have ? Who do i take this up with if the dealer doesn't come through ? I just feel that after purchasing a new (demo) truck with a $54,195 price tag, that i shouldn't have to go buy a brand new 20" tire, new Harley floor mats and a new Harley bed mat. Thanks in advance for replies. DFORDMAN
